Help Needed
[edit]Hi, my name is Michael Parks and I am a student at FIU in Miami, Florida. My current college project involves me, and those who i find to help me, redo the "Bert Oliva" page. I was hoping that you could help because i see that you have helped out with Tony Robbins, and Bert Oliva is like the 'Latin' Tony Robbins...
Well I barely get all these wikipedia rules so if you could somehow help that would be greatly appreciated! The page can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Michaelparks/Bert_Oliva
Thank you very much for all of your help! --Michaelparks (talk) 17:50, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
UGA Userbox
[edit]Hey there. I like your change to the UGA userbox. Looks very cool, and I went ahead and changed the one on my user page to the new version. Thanks! --SuperNova |T|C| 18:45, 29 March 2006 (UTC)
Do I know you?
[edit]Based on your past edits of Starr's Mill High School and Rising Starr Middle School, plus your user page, it seems you may possibly have gone to those schools before heading off to UGA. I'm currently a junior at SMHS, and was a member of the 2002 RSMS team that won the National Science Olympiad team. I also actually started the SMHS and RSMS articles here on wikipedia. My name is Andrew Ash, and I'm wondering if the name rings a bell! --Ash211 04:04, 7 April 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:Hardy boys cover 14.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Hardy boys cover 14.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:01, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

Unspecified source for Image:Hardy_boys_cover_01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Hardy_boys_cover_01.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Hardy_boys_cover_01.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hardy_boys_cover_01.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 11:07, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Hardy Boys book covers
[edit]Hi, Would it be possible for your to review your image uploads to [1], adding sourcing information (noted some already have this) and a DETAILED fair use rationale? If possible it would be much appreciated if you could do the same for other uploads in the same category. :) ShakespeareFan00 11:08, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Wikimania in Atlanta!
[edit]Hi! I noticed your involvement on U.S. South-related articles, categories and WikiProjects, and I wanted to let you know about a bid we're formulating to get next year's Wikimania held in Atlanta! If you would like to help, be sure to sign your name to the "In Atlanta" section of the Southeast team portion of the bid if you're in town, or to the "Outside Atlanta" section if you still want to help but don't live in the city or the suburbs. If you would like to contribute more, please write on my talk page, the talk page of the bid, or join us at the #wikimania-atlanta IRC chat on freenode.org. Have a great day!
P.S. While this is a template for maximum efficiency, I would appreciate a note on my talk page so I know you got the message, and what you think. This is time-sensitive, so your urgent cooperation is appreciated. :) Mike H. I did "That's hot" first! 09:18, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for Image:Hardy boys cover 01.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading Image:Hardy boys cover 01.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 00:17, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
In fact the reason it was tagged has to do with the fact that seemingly the original rights holder was unclear/unattributed.
It has nothing to do with it's insertion or otherwise in a specific article. You could help by adding the appropriate information
rather than trying to blame some other contributors. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 09:04, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Blogs
[edit]I know this may seem contradictory, but we can't use blogs as sources for assertiona about other blogs, especially those connected to living people. See WP:BLP and WP:RS. There's some leeway when the blog is hosted/conducted by a mainstream newspaper, or when it is operated by an acknowledged expert on a topic. However neither of those seem to have bee the case with the Michelle Malkin article. ·:· Will Beback ·:· 23:16, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
WikiProject Children's Literature Roll Call
[edit]British date ordering
[edit]Hello. I noticed the page for Hannah Starling had her date of birth wrong - looks like you misinterpreted British date ordering in the source. I've fixed that one up; thought I'd let you know in case you'd made this mistake elsewhere and wanted to correct. Cheers! Myrmecophagavir (talk) 13:37, 7 August 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity
[edit]Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)
