User talk:Fernanf
Sir how can I delete my iSFU account? Last time I log in using Fernanf account but it can't log in so I create another account.
- You can't delete an account, but as long as you stick to using this username, you should be fine. Happy editing! David1217 (talk) 03:57, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
But Sir I'm still block, what am I going to do? I need to update the southville foreign university page.
- Just wait a day or two, then you'll be able to edit again. However, didn't you see what JohnCD said? I repeat: do not add promotional or copyrighted content to Southville Foreign University, the way you did prior to the block, or you risk being reblocked. Again, adding promotional or copyrighted content repeatedly after being told not to is grounds for blocking. If your changes to an article are reverted, do not simply put them back in, which if you do repeatedly is an edit war; discuss it on the talk page until you reach a consensus. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle. Also, if you work for or represent the university, then a conflict of interest would apply. David1217 (talk) 15:21, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Southville Foreign University
[edit]Don't worry about the user:iSFU account - we do not delete accounts, but I have blocked it and you can just forget about it.
I am concerned that you say that you "need to update" the Southville Foreign University page. You have blanked from your talk page the advice I gave you here; you are entitled to do that, but it does not seem that you have read it. Wikipedia is not a sort of Myspace for people to write promotional stuff about themselves and their institutions, and if you continue, you will be blocked again.
If you are editing as part of your job, or as part of a student project, please explain to your supervisor or instructor that Wikipedia will not allow you to make edits like that, because that sort of thing is not what an encyclopedia is for. Show them the advice I gave you before, which I linked above. Ask them to read WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.
I have made an entry about this article at WP:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard#Southville Foreign University. It is likely that the article will be considerably rewritten to make it nearer to our standards. You may make suggestions on the article talk page, but should not edit it directly. - Sir, how come I'm still blocked? You said blocked accounts tooks 2 to 3 days, but still I'm blocked. I really need to update the Southville Foreign University page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fernanf (talk • contribs) 01:25, 5 May 2012
- You are not blocked, your three day block has expired, and there is no autoblock on your account. Try to edit the WP:Sandbox: if you can edit it, you are not blocked. If you cannot edit it,copy below here the exact message you get.
- But you do not need to update the Southville Foreign University page, and if you try again to post promotional material there, you will be blocked again. Please read all the advice you have been given here and above on this page. JohnCD (talk) 09:02, 5 May 2012 (UTC)
