Wanted to let you know that I'd retired

Thank you for earlier affirming interactions. See User:Leprof_7272 page for details if interested. Bonne chance. Le Prof 73.210.155.96 (talk) 15:49, 24 June 2017 (UTC)

Over two years have passed, and I still miss you, User:73.210.155.96 aka User:Leprof_7272, despite your tendency to over tag. I like tagging too! I struggle not to go hog wild at times. I believe you edited in good faith. I also acknowledge that Wiki admins must act in the best interests of the entire community. I hope to work with you again someday, here or elsewhere. Best wishes always!--FeralOink (talk) 22:37, 28 September 2019 (UTC)

WikiProject Investment

Hey there! I just re-launched the WikiProject Investment.

The site has been fully revamped and updated and I would like to invite you the project.

Feel free to check out the project and ping me if you have any questions.

I'd like to invite you to join the Investment WikiProject. There are a lot of Investment related articles on Wikipedia that could use a little attention, and I hope this project can help organize an effort to improve them. So please, take a look and if you like what you see, help get this project off the ground and a few Investment pages into the front ranks of Wikipedia articles. Thanks!

Cheers! WikiEditCrunch (talk) 19:24, 22 August 2017 (UTC)

Help with article?

Hi,

I noticed you're a member of the Wikipedia Finance and Investment project. I wonder if you'd be willing to help me out by reviewing Draft: Fifth Wall Ventures and making it live by moving it to "Wikipedia" (under "More"} if you think it's ready? It's a VC-firm focused on real estate with about $200m under management.

Although I am an experienced Wikipedia editor and always try my best to abide by the five pillars, in this case I have a conflict of interest, so Wikipedia policy requires that all my work be reviewed by an independent editor before it's published. I'd be glad to do any additional work you think the article requires.

Thanks for considering this!

Ed BC1278 (talk) 23:22, 1 January 2018 (UTC)BC1278

Hi, Ed! I remember you! You are the nice-looking Jewish lawyer that I recreationally trolled on MySpace long ago. I looked you up on LinkedIn. I know my response is uh rather late. I apologize. I couldn't have helped you with the article as I have a COI, namely, the real life interest/incident that I described in my initial sentence. Congratulations on being first in your class in law school!--FeralOink (talk) 08:05, 26 January 2019 (UTC)

More help with BLPs

Hey FeralOink, hope you're doing well. I'm looking for some help updating articles for Craig B. Thompson, José Baselga, and Joan Massagué Solé. I saw you're a member of WP:ACADEMICS and remembered you helping me out with the BLP for David Cote, and I was wondering if you could check out some of my suggestions again. I've posted on their respective talk pages, as well as the WP:ACADEMICS talk page, but I've been having trouble getting any kind of feedback from anyone. If you've got the time to take a look, even at just one of the articles, I'd greatly appreciate it.--FacultiesIntact (talk) 23:05, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

Help to review Magnetar Capital improvements?

Hi FeralOink, I'm looking for editors to help review some updates I've proposed at Magnetar Capital. Browsing through participants of WikiProject Finance & Investment, I came across your name. If you recall, you helped review a request of mine on Vocus several years ago and I thought this Magnetar Capital request might interest you, especially given your interest in finance.

Magnetar Capital is a bit of a problem article with major issues (which I separately outlined here). I've posted a short, simple first edit request to begin the work to resolve the article's many issues, and I'm hoping editors interested in finance and investment can take a look but haven't had much luck yet in getting anyone to reply at various WikiProjects.

As disclosure, I do have a financial conflict of interest, as I am here on behalf of Magnetar Capital as part of my work at Beutler Ink. Are you interested in reviewing this request? 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 20:08, 6 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello, 16912 Rhiannon. Yes, I would be interested in reviewing your request. I will go have a look now.--FeralOink (talk) 06:28, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
Hi there, I'm sorry I didn't update you sooner, I just saw that another editor appeared and has reviewed the initial request, so I'm all set with that for now. I would definitely appreciate your input on the article as a whole, and my upcoming requests to address the page, if you'd be interested in doing so? Thanks so much! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 14:37, 8 June 2018 (UTC)
Ping Rhiannon - I spent several hours trying to understand why Rekeda was mentioned in the article, see my response in the talk page for that section. I read several 2006 to 2010 era Wall St Journal articles about Rekeda, as well as the SEC proceedings against him, all linked on that part of the talk page. Be aware that Magnetar was not even mentioned by the SEC administrative proceedings against Rekeda, nor was Magnetar mentioned in secondary coverage of the Delphinus CDO failure. Also, Rekeda never worked for Magnetar. I wanted to make sure you noticed these additions as well as the direct response to you at the end of the page, to which you already replied. I will now continue my commentary at Magnetar talk.--FeralOink (talk) 20:09, 23 June 2018 (UTC)
Thanks so much for this note, FeralOink, the research process for this draft has been an interesting one, to say the least and I'm glad you're doing your own due diligence around the topic. I'll look carefully through your latest note at Talk:Magnetar Cap and let you know if I have any additional thoughts or questions for now. 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 19:03, 25 June 2018 (UTC)
Ping Rhiannon As FYI, I did a major re-write of the article on 9 July.--FeralOink (talk) 16:27, 12 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi there, thanks for the ping! And I really appreciate your efforts on the page so far. I'm still working through drafting some updates and checking them with Magnetar to make sure I'm getting the details right, especially around the more technical financial topics, and I'm hoping to have some new material to show you (and any other editors that are interested) soon. Thanks again, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 18:34, 13 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi FeralOink! In case you didn't see it, I posted a new request at Talk:Magnetar Capital. I've suggested a new section to address a very basic issue we touched upon in our discussions: the article's lack of content that explains the company as it exists today. Are you still interested in reviewing requests to help update this article? Thanks in advance, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 22:16, 16 August 2018 (UTC)
Hello 16912 Rhiannon! I have been busy arranging my IRL move from Arizona to the Norfolk Naval Shipyard vicinity. I remain interested in helping you clean up the Magnetar article with WP:NPOV, WP:RS content. Now our focus is on recency, to balance the inordinate emphasis on events of 10 years ago. I do think it is important for Wikipedia readers to realize that a company that typified behavior leading to the 2008 global financial crisis—although it was by NO MEANS THE LEADING CAUSE, merely one of many—remains extant as a going concern. (I don't know if Magnetar is a story of greed and redemption, OR of "getting away with it" but perhaps more ethically/fiscally responsible in the present. And yes, I realize that it isn't the role of Wikipedia editors to make that determination.) The SEC under the Obama Administration chose not to prosecute Magnetar, nor any of its employees. That fact was missing from the article prior to the edits I made following my interactions with you. I am proud that we had the opportunity to update the article with such particulars! Our efforts will enable WP readers to draw their own conclusions from a better-informed perspective. Be patient with me, due to my atypically more complicated off-wiki life. Happy Labor Day Weekend, if you reside in the USA!--FeralOink (talk) 23:40, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
Wow, that's a big move! Totally understand that may be taking up a lot of your time and brain space right now. I'm going to see if I can nudge Magnetar along on a few bits of feedback I'm waiting on, so that I can have some more proposed wording to share with you once you're able to look into this again. Good luck with the planning and let me know if you have any initial thoughts on my first suggestion. Thanks again, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 16:14, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
Hi FeralOink! I hope your move went well. If you're still interested in cleaning up the Magnetar Capital article, I posted this request for a section on the company's CDO investments. Let me know if you have any thoughts. Thanks again, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 21:50, 11 October 2018 (UTC)

Hi again and hope you're enjoying the start of the festive season post-move! If you're starting to be more active and available on Wikipedia again, I was wondering if you had time to take a look at Magnetar and the suggestions I'd offered there so far? No rush if you're still getting back up to speed. Thanks in advance! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 20:35, 7 December 2018 (UTC)

Magnetar Capital

Hi FeralOink! It's been a while, and I know you've been busy with things in real life, so you're not as active on Wikipedia. I hope things are OK. We had a lot of great discussions about Magnetar Capital, and I would still like our collaboration to continue, if possible. If you're simply too busy, or you are no longer interested in editing Magnetar Capital, I will look for other editors to assist. Of course, I wanted to ping you first because of the amount of time and energy you've already spent on with this. Thanks very much for all your help so far! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 18:15, 10 January 2019 (UTC)

National Conference for Community and Justice

Hello - I'm reaching out with a note about some edits you made to the National Conference for Community and Justice page between December 3 and December 8, 2018. The national NCCJ did actually dissolve by 2005, though many former NCCJ chapters became independent organizations and are still in operation - including the one in Connecticut / Western Massachusetts that retained the NCCJ name and URL. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Erikarain (talkcontribs) 13:05, 9 August 2019 (UTC)

2019 US Banknote Contest

US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Finance and investment-related article request

Hi FeralOink! Hope you're doing well. On behalf of New York Life Insurance Company, I have a rather basic request for straightforward edits at the New York Life Insurance Company Talk page. I've been trying to get editors to review it, and I came across your familiar name over at WikiProject Finance & Investment. Any chance you might be interested in reviewing this request? Or perhaps you could recommend other editors who are active in this space and might be interested in updating the New York Life Insurance Company article? Although the requested updates are straightforward, I don't want to edit the article myself because of my conflict of interest. Thank you in advance, 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 17:38, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

Greetings, 16912 Rhiannon. Happy 2020 to you! Yes, I will have a look at the article and your request. I enjoyed working with you before on our Wikipedia Finance project! Give me a few days, probably on Friday when my work week ends.--FeralOink (talk) 05:54, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Hi FeralOink! I hope this ping isn't bothersome. If you still have some time to check out my request at the New York Life Insurance Company Talk page, I would definitely appreciate your input. Thank you again! 16912 Rhiannon (Talk · COI) 19:50, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

Talk:Hunter Biden

FeralOink, I'm sorry for the incident on Talk:Hunter Biden. I hope that there are no hard feelings. I meant no disrespect. I just didn't think the statement by the IP was enough to be removed, but maybe it was. It was hidden by another user, so I guess it doesn't really matter now. Keep standing up for what you think is right. Thanks, EDG 543 (message me) 01:26, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

EDG 543, thank you so much for this message! You are forgiven :o) There are no hard feelings. I better understand your position now. It it all turned out well in the end, i.e. the entire thing, including IP's comment was blessedly hidden. I do appreciate your words of encouragement here! --FeralOink (talk) 05:33, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
I just tried to undo SPECTICO to restore your edit, but it didn't work. Charles Juvon (talk) 01:52, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
Charles Juvon, thank you! Hunter's involvement, uh, work with CEFC is a significant part of his career, for better or for worse. SPECTICO didn't object to its inclusion in the BLP for over two weeks, so I don't understand why he suddenly removed it. The info was well-sourced, etc. I do appreciate that you tried to get it restored!--FeralOink (talk) 02:04, 7 January 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for weighing in on the RfC at Talk:Hunter_Biden. It's not a WP:VOTE, but is there any chance you could register your opinion in the polling section above the discussion? NickCT (talk) 14:42, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

You are welcome, NickCT! As a female contributor to Wikipedia, I rarely receive any sort of validation or acknowledgement of my efforts. Your comment (just like the prior entry on my talk page, regarding an issue about the same BLP,) does a world of good, i.e. I feel valued and included, rather than attacked. Other editors were BITEY toward you in that RfC, yet you responded equanimously!
You're correct, in that I did not register my input to the discussion in the correct part of the RfC. I am glad to do that now. There is another editor, who is a senior citizen, he identified himself as such, who has been the subject of pile-on attacks on the talk page of Hunter's BLP article. He has even requested patience, given his newness to the project, to no avail. He seems like a nice person, who could be an excellent WP editor/contributor. If you see him around, trying to contribute, keI hope you will be congenial, as you have to toward me (no pressure of course!)
Well..... I acknowledge you. And you are validated in my book.
The bity-ness sucks. The bitier people tend to be the least well socialized, and have the hardest time rationalizing different opinions. The biters often aren't all that bad if you get to know them though. Think of them as Corgi's. Friendly really, but prone to biting ankles. Can't help it. It's the way they were bred.
I'll try to be congenial to your senior citizen. NickCT (talk) 20:36, 18 December 2020 (UTC)

CharlesJuvon

Why are you encouraging this editor to just keep making user boxes instead of actually improving the encyclopedia. Like don't get me wrong; I think people can contribute to the project in lots of different ways, but Charles does not seem the least bit interested in that part of this site. –MJLTalk 20:26, 5 February 2021 (UTC)

RNA codons in 3D genetic code graphic

Hello I am new to this and hope I don't get killed again by a BOT. You seem to have the same interest then me in an uploaded graphic of the RNA codons in 3D that Charles Juvon uploaded on 27 August 2020.

I have created the same 3 dimensional arrangement in the year 2000 and published on my website since then. I just finished and published a new web page with my thoughts and reasons.

Before I talk to a mensa member, I'd like to contact you as the only other person having recognised the 3d arrangement as something spectacular. PS: I am also retired. H2mex (talk) 01:41, 27 June 2021 (UTC)

FeralOink, we have been called WP:QUIT, WP:RANDY WP:CHEESE. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Enforcement#Discussion_concerning_CutePeach. CutePeach (talk) 16:17, 24 July 2021 (UTC)

CutePeach, thank you so much, a million times thank you, for informing me about the Arbitration Enforcement discussion concerning the G0Ffather issue and us. We are NOT WP:CHEESE. Similarly, many who are the VERY OPPOSITE of WP:RANDY have been ruthlessly banned or hounded from contributing to the article. I am incensed. You are good and brave and TBQH far more credentialed than I am about the subject matter under discussion. It is disgraceful how YOU, one of the last brave souls (highly subject matter qualified AND hailing from the so-called "Global South" for whom Wikipedia just lovvvvvvvvvvvvves to proclaim its intention to give voice) is being ruthlessly repressed. There are other Wikipedia editors, from the Global South, Global North, and elsewhere, who are all articulate and highly technically qualified in the subject matter, who have been summarily banned or chased off from contributing due to accusations of partisanship um, or anti-Middle Kingdom sentiments. Any rational, unbiased editor would realize that every world power has some sort of official program regarding biowarfare, even if only defensive, i.e. combating bioterrorism. I mention this because recently, in the talk page of my now least-favorite Wikiarticle, there are statements by WP:Admin editors that the People's Republic of China does not fund or investigate bioterrorism or biowarfare research at all, and to suggest otherwise is evidence of WP:FRINGE or worse yet, being "right-wing". In actuality, those editors who clearly advocate for China as merely a sleeply vulnerable giant, like unto a Snorlax, are exhibiting Sinophilia. In Wiki World terms, their contributions to the talk page are WP:SOAPBOX in the extreme. I am almost afraid to peruse the Charl3s Li3ber article! On MY WAY over, and thank you for visiting!--FeralOink (talk) 08:07, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

Hello, MMA Kid. I will go have a look now and see what I can do. Thank you for stopping by.--FeralOink (talk) 10:49, 13 September 2021 (UTC)
Thank you for response. Already added more justified news from Varzesh 3, Parsine, ANA (Official news agency of the Ministry of Labor of Iran) and also Vanguardngr. Currently, Reza Goodary is the headline of Iranian news and he is mentioned in prestigious publications day by day. This page deserves to be on main space. Sincerely. Tsk, tsk, User:MMA Kid!!! Prior reviewers removed black hat SEO links from your earlier drafts. Then a nice Farsi speaker reviewed your AfC draft, translating a lot of the reference titles from Farsi to English. Then I spent about three hours cleaning up the organization and redundancies in your AfC: you write English fluently and grammatically, but you repeated a lot of content to bulk up the article. I was about to re-check those sources you kindly provided, to confirm what you said, but first went to have a look on Persian Wikipedia, to see the Reza Goodary BLP that you said was of near Good Article quality; even nomination from an A or B quality article is impressive. I couldn't complete my mission, because that article on Persian Wikipedia was deleted on May 21, 2021! What is the story with that? The editor who deleted the article (and seems like a kindly man based on my reading of his user page) has been editing Wikipedia since 2007, so I am inclined to take his decision and that of Persian Wikipedia authorities quite seriously. I am unconvinced of Reza's notability, and echo the reviewers of prior drafts of your article. With improvements you can always try again..--FeralOink (talk) 01:52, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Dear FeralOink, Thank you very much for following up. Reza Goodary is an Iranian-American citizen and he has always fought for his native Iran. Unfortunately, some Persian Wikipedia administrators have an extreme view of Iran and do not want Reza Goodary to be on Wikipedia because of the political problems between the United States and Iran, and this is an obvious abuse. They even blocked my account for writing Reza Goodary's article. As a martial arts journalist, I have followed his struggles on television. He is an exemplary martial artist and a true fighter who deserves to be on Wikipedia. Sincerely. MMA Kid (talk) 02:37, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
User:MMA Kid, you need to do the following (which was a recommendation I meant to make in my initial rejection of the draft AfC): include a few succinctly worded sentences about Reza's personal life which are currently absent in the article, along with some mention of his ties to America. I say this because I was totally mystified while reading the draft, about Reza intended return to America. Given that he was supposedly born in Iran many years following the American embassy hostage crisis in Tehran/ administration of former US President Carter, I did not understand how he could possibly be an Iranian national AND an American citizen. Does he hold dual Iranian-American citizenship? Is such a thing even possible given the lack of diplomatic relations between the United States and Iran? I did not wish to broach such matters regarding approval of an article about a soccer player in Wikipedia, but since you mentioned them too, I feel compelled to inquire. If Reza wishes to have his own entry in Wikipedia despite a lack of notability as a mixed martial artist, then I think it is unlikely that Wikipedia editors will be convinced to grant approval due to WP:BLP standards. I noticed that there is an entry on Wikimedia i.e. Commons, of uploads of Reza's various memberships in martial arts clubs. The image uploads do not document his excellence in those organizations. You were wise to not include them in the article, as membership in organizations that require annual dues payments does not establish notability as one of an elite, notable group, e.g. MMA fighters. Please keep my remarks in mind if you should choose to improve upon and resubmit this AfC.
I urge you to seek out a Wikipedia editor who is better-informed than I am about determining Reza's notability in mixed martial arts, karate, muy thai fighting etc. I have given this a good faith effort, but my abilities are in mathematics, economics, academic biographical articles, financial regulation, and debunking anti-Donald Trump conspiracies, not MMA.--FeralOink (talk) 16:29, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
Dear FeralOink, Thank you for your help, I checked all the AFC admins and did not find anyone who specializes in martial arts. About Reza Goodary, I do not know how his citizenship is, but I am sure he is dual national. He is an Iranian-American born in Iran. I guess he studied and worked in U.S but I can't confirm that. All I know is that he really deserves to be featured on Wikipedia, not sleep on draft. I just found new Persian reference: (1). The source is one of the best-selling newspapers in Iran (Hamshahri), which was published today and distributed throughout Iran. The newspaper commented on his next fight on October 23. Sincerely. The above link is very valid and only with this one link can a Wikipedia page be created. Reza Goodary has a lot of these links and I wonder why this article will not be moved to MainSpace. Sincerely. MMA Kid (talk) 16:55, 18 September 2021 (UTC)
