Assistance/Advice Needed
Greetings, @FenixFeather. I have found your responses and contributions to be both helpful and balanced, so I wanted to get your opinion on an issue and/or advice on how to handle it. The issue concerns the Five Percent Nation page and a recently added section called "teachings on race." The section appears to be to violate several WP policies, and I have discussed these infringements at length on the talk page under the section "teachings on race." However, I am running into a brick wall. I would appreciate it if you could look at the section "teachings on race" and it source and the discussion on the talk page and let me know what you think. I would appreciate your input, but if you do not wish to be disturbed I respect that as well. OjogbonIjinle (talk) 05:42, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- @OjogbonIjinle: Thank you for the kind words but unfortunately I don't really have the time right now to contribute to Wikipedia in any significant way. If you're looking for input, you can post to a relevant Wikiproject or maybe even do an WP:RFC. As it is, I'm not sure that I'm involved enough for this not to perhaps verge on WP:CANVAS territory. I understand your intentions are good, though. – FenixFeather (talk)(Contribs) 17:55, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
FenixFeather thank you for your response and suggestions. To clarify, I contacted you only because I find your contributions to be neutral and nonbiased and I wanted honest feedback. I apologize for any perceived or actual offence, and I apologize for bothering you. Cheers OjogbonIjinle (talk) 21:09, 10 August 2019 (UTC)
- @OjogbonIjinle: No offense taken! Just saying that since I'm an inactive editor, it might look weird for me to jump in. Thank you for the compliment though. Best wishes with solving the issue you're trying to address! – FenixFeather (talk)(Contribs) 06:21, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
FenixFeather Thank you so much for clarifying; I had been worried that I overstepped a boundary or breached protocol. I didn't know you were inactive: that is disappointing. WP needs more editors like you. I have been seriously contemplating signing off, myself. It can be really depressing and frustrating. But because WP is the first voice so many millions encounter, it is difficult to not try to create a stronger encyclopedia. No matter whether you return to WP or not, I hope you enjoy your life to the fullest! You've been a voice of sanity and reason for many. OjogbonIjinle (talk) 00:56, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks again for your kind words. I wish I had the time and willpower to dedicate to Wikipedia, but it's simply not an environment that feels welcoming to me. I think, in the end, it might be more productive to inform people that Wikipedia is not a neutral source of truth, but rather dominated by STEM/male perspectives than to try to change Wikipedia itself. Maybe I'm wrong and things can change for the better. Probably not tho seeing how the community leapt to the defense of a toxic user just because they were a good admin. I wish you luck! – FenixFeather (talk)(Contribs) 23:50, 12 August 2019 (UTC)
