I need help updating this page about Daniel Langlois: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Langlois It's a biography of a living person. The old content dates from 2006 and is very outdated. I'd like to post a new version (actually I just did earlier today) but it was deleted. My edit is largely inspired by this web page, the official biography of Daniel Langlois, as we published it in our website: https://www.fondation-langlois.org/html/e/page.php?NumPage=302 Daniel Langlois and I (webmaster) are the authors of this page. It is up to date (2021) and could easily replace the old Wikipedia version, with some improvements. I've contacted "Permissions Wikimedia Commons" by email to notify I've released the original content as "CC BY-SA 3.0", and it was aknowledged today [Ticket#2022081010011351]. I was in the process of adding sources and references. Will do the same to the French version soon. How can I proceed? Thank you Ludovic, Fdlwebmaster (talk) 21:14, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Fdlwebmaster", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually (not your role), such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87", but not "SEO Manager at XYZ Company".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. Alternatively, you can just create a new account and use that for editing. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Please be aware that the name of a position within an organization is considered to be a "role account", as more than one person can occupy a position over time. Sure, no problem. I'll use the "Global user account rename request" form asap to change my username. Thanks Drm310 for advice.
To update the Daniel Langlois page, it is best to add little changes here and there, with sources and references, instead of replacing the whole page with new content? Fdlwebmaster (talk) 23:14, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for tip. So I'm trying some small changes today, and "sourced to independent reliable sources". Ludovic Carpentier (talk) 15:07, 11 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
