My blocking.

[edit]

I have been told by user:JzG to talk to you about me being blocked, as all the information I have written is correct, according to my knowledge which is quite specific. See User_talk:JzG#Issues_with_my_blocking. My source is 'The Holy Roman Empire' by The Viscount Bryce and is very specific. As to the german version of wikipedia, I knew that it was not on there. Even though I am half german, I can't speak german, however my husband can and I was going to get him to do it. Obviously, I would like to continue adding new bits of information to Wikipedia, especially in areas where I think I have some extra knowledge to give. I hope you can understand where I am coming from. The amazon link for my source is: [1]

user:theoriginaldesperatehousewife 19:46, 9 July 2006 (UCT)

Well, there are a number of issues, let's look at them.
  1. There's a persistent vandal, named Stefan Roberts, who fancies himself a noble and keeps inventing places for himself in noble or royal families, including this one.
  2. He's usually got a good story for himself, with alleged sources unavailable online. Last time around he claimed to be a peerage expert.
  3. The web is full of people tracking aristocrats and royalty (even pretenders from families long out of power) yet your people don't show up.
  4. I can't find any source anywhere that lists a current presumptive heir named Stefan, or even a current prince named Karl-Philipp V.
  5. Many, many reliable sources list the current heir as Karl VII, a Czech senator.
  6. Your edits to List of countries by system of government and Monarchy, both adding the Schwarzenbergs into lists of current ruling monarchies (does the Holy Roman Empire still exist somewhere, unbeknownst to everyone?), make it just about impossible to assume good faith on your part.
Adding all these things together, I would have to conclude about a 99% certainty that you are, in fact, Stefan Roberts, at it again. Fan-1967 00:02, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Firstly, I would like to say, I have no idea who this 'Stefan Roberts' is. As far as I can remember I did not mention the surname Roberts once. However, I understand that I have no proof for this and so I understand where you are coming from.
  2. Secondly, as to the actual information, I only have my source, which I have already told you.
  3. Thirdly, actually the Holy Roman Empire does exist in some forms still. The old families do still have some figurative powers, the Schwarzenbergs being the most powerful, and still have some control over the Czech Republic, in a much more figurehead way, much like a constitutional monarch. Again this is just out of my source and so I cannnot prove it to you.

I understand your cooncerns and in the end I don't really care. I was just trying to help in some way, but obviously this is no what happens here on Wikipedia. My only plea is that, even if you don't put back my contributions to the Schwarzenbergs modern day family since I have no way of proving that it is correct, that you allow me to continue editing as I have a lot of information on the rest of the Holy Roman Empire, including some more history on the Schwarzenbergs, a lot on the Badens, and a lot on the Princes of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.

I hope you can understand my position.

user:theoriginaldesperatehousewife 10:27, 10 July 2006, (UTC)

  • I hope you can understand mine. I can find no indication, anywhere, that the Czech government has any official recognition of the Schwarzenbergs (or any other nobility). Senator Karel (VII) Schwarzenberg obtained his position through political, not hereditary, means, and I still can find no indication that the current prince you named exists at all. I find it very difficult to believe that these things would be documented in one book and totally unknown to the rest of the world. Where does this Karl-Philipp V live? What is his relationship to the senator? How can there be two current princes? Fan-1967 14:57, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The answer I believe is that the senator Prince Karl is not the VII, or at least not that I know of. I completely agree that Prince Karl did obtain his possision through political means. That much I knew. I do not think that Karl 'VII' is the current head of the family and so I've no idea why he he should be given post-nominal numbers. You earlier said that he was the heir and, again, why would he have post-nominal numbers? Karl-Philip V lives, I am very sure, in Hluboká Castle in the Czech Republic. As for the recognition, again I'm afraid I have no idea. As far as my source ([2]) says they are recognised by the government. Perhaps that is just the way the book is written that it makes out that they are more recognised than they are. The relationship between the two princes I think I know: I believe they are brothers. The book certainly talks of a brother Karl in the last chapter, however this may not be the same one. Perhaps it is possible that he is of the second (and less notable) line of princes. Again, I'm afraid I don't know.

Again, I reinstate my plea, if you can't belive my source, which I'll give you is becoming less credible as I type then at least allow me to add to some of the other people that I know about.

user:theoriginaldesperatehousewife 16:01, 10 July 2006 (UCT)

Obviously, I do not have a copy of that book. However, if there is a current prince named Karl-Philipp Schwarzenberg, he would be mentioned somewhere besides your book. I have tried numerous web searches, and the only Karl-Philipp Schwarzenberg I can find was a Napoleonic general. It is inconceivable that such a person can exist and not be mentioned somewhere. So I have to ask myself where this information can be coming from. Fan-1967 16:15, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid I don't know. I didn't write the book.

user:theoriginaldesperatehousewife 16:53, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And there's the problem. Absolutely none of your edits look legitimate. You say they came from a book, which I have no way to confirm or deny at this time, but I'm extremely skeptical . Fan-1967 17:42, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand completeley but I also have no way of proving that I am for real.

user:theoriginaldesperatehousewife 17:50, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I find it very rude that a) you haven't responded to me, and b) that you are talking about me behind my back! User_talk:JzG#Desperation!!!. I realise it is your right to uestion me and interrogate me especially if there is a vandal who is regularly causing you grief, but could you at least do it to my face!

Again, I ask, is there any way that you can think of for me to prove that I am real?

user:theoriginaldesperatehousewife 23:13 11 July 2006, (UTC)

To be frank, I can't think of anything. If anything you've posted has any validity, it has to exist somewhere besides that book. I find it difficult to believe that a viscount is just making stuff up., so I wonder if that stuff is actually in the book at all. I suggest you find something to verify there is a living Karl-Philipp. If he exists, it can't be a secret. He's not in Hluboka Castle. No Schwarzenberg has lived there since Adolph Schwarzenberg left in 1939. His only descendant is a granddaughter, Alzbeta Pezold, who's tried without success to reclaim it. The only current prince I can find is a cousin, Karel VII, who's a senator and was chancellor in Vaclav Havel's government. Until you can come up with some sort of explanation for your information, I have to believe you are a determined hoaxer just trying to string this along as long as you can. 'conquistadors'

[edit]

hi there, just a quick question. i saw in the page history that you had left a note on my wiki article page stating that there was 'no assertion of notability', and i'm sure i left a note saying i needed a small amount of time to expand the article and in doing so, assert its notibility. obviously, this is confusing to me. i'm sure you werent doing this out of any kind of power hungry style malice and you aren't one of these people who relish every tiny piece of responsibility that is bequeathed onto you by wikipedia, for example, or perhaps a gaming forum or internet fan club, etc. However, i'd appreciate you telling me exactly what you would like to see in the article for it to be sufficient enough to remain online. thanks for your time, i look forward to reading your response.

how else can I prove it will exist?

[edit]

hi, thanks for taking ur time to write in the discussion. As u can see I am trying to keep my first article in wikipedia from being deleted. I will appreaciate all the help you can provide in order to help me. How else can I prove it will exist? Thank so much for your time. Jose Javier

Response Whether it will exist is not the issue. The issue is, quite frankly, assuming it does exist in a few months, will anybody care? A lot of things get launched on the web. The vast majority sink like a stone without anyone noticing. WP:WEB says, basically, that we document things on the web that have received notice. No way to know, until it happens, whether this one will or not. Once it's launched, if it becomes popular, there's no reason why the article can't be recreated at that time.
If, in fact, you want this article to help gain exposure for Modele before its launch, that is most assuredly against Wikipedia policy. Wikipedia is for things that have gained notability, not things that hope to. Fan-1967 20:33, 10 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for the info

[edit]

thanks for your fast response. I think I will wait until they have more info as posters, official website. I wasnt trying to make it popular I just wanted to do my first article in something. But I guess I will wait afew months so I can have more information to talk about Modele Such as more about the characters, plots, pilot and screenshots and read more about every actor. Thanks for all your help. I really appreciate it! Jose Javier

Following your comments on the talk page for this article, I felt it was worth putting this and the others in the "set" up for peer review at AfD. I felt you might have an interest in the nomination since it was you who pointed this out to us. Fiddle Faddle 07:46, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Holy Roman Empire

[edit]

hi Fan -- I saw a reference to this Stefan stuff, and because I am bored and procrastinating, and happen to be sitting in the university library, I looked up the book mentioned above -- and there's a copy right here, a handful of shelves away. I love libraries. I don't need to get embroiled, but if it's any help to look up anything in particular or verify that someone did, or did not, exist, let me know -- I'm here pretty often, and with a bit of warning I could even bring my camera. best, bikeable (talk) 00:19, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sounds good. It turns out to be a rainy day today, so I may not make it over to the library, but I'll get to it soon and take a look. bikeable (talk) 16:08, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
hi, I'm in the library again today and pulled out "Holy Roman Empire", Bryce. I should point out that the copy I have is a 1950 reprint of the 1904 edition of a book that was originally written in 1864, so its utility for this purpose is suspect. I like the comment on Amazon [3] that it focuses on the modern-day descendants; unless the book has been rewritten since 1950 -- a good trick, since the author died in 1922 -- this is a total fabrication, and I have no doubt that that comment was made up for your benefit. The last two chapters, evidently added in the later editions, deal with "The Progress of Germany towards National Unity" and "The New German Empire" (meaning post-Prussian War). There is no mention of the name Schwarzenberg or of any Karl at all in the index. At a quick glance I see no mention of anyone relevant (indeed, anyone after Bismark) in the few pages dealing with Germany post Prussian War. In summary, you were, of course, correct that this is all a big hoax. (Good work.) best, bikeable (talk) 20:57, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Bats (again)

[edit]

The bat articles I have come across so far have had the same format:

and they are listed on the Megabat list.

The belching bat is not listed under Megabat and has no latin name (unlike the others). If you look at the two listed above, you'll see the type of information that is included.

It may be a clever hoax. (The lack of a latin name is suspicious). The writer loosely includes some typical bat information, but not in the standard format. But then again, he is writing about a European bat The others are from Borneo and such. I incline toward the hoax, since The belching bat isn't linked to a bat article.

The general bat article is Bat. I know nothing about bats myself. KarenAnn 19:11, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hoax or parody, now that I read The belching bat closely.

[edit]

The writer has obviously run across some of those bat articles. One was up for deletion a while ago, and there was an outcry from the bat community that saved it. KarenAnn 19:19, 17 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fan-1967, is there a long-term abuse case open for the airport vandal? Do you know of anywhere where its socks are listed, or record of previous incidents are kept? I know I've seen it before, but I can't think of where, I would like to start keeping track. Thanks for reporting, by the way. DVD+ R/W 03:03, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not that I'm aware of. I just happen to have caught three or four on RCP, so I bet there have to be a lot more. It was Denver airport for awhile. Now he's switched to PHX. Fan-1967 03:07, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I want to start a post about the airport vandal, but am not sure where, on WP:AN,WP:ANI, or WP:LTA. At the present, I don't have enough to go on other than this recent incident, as I can't remember where last I saw it. Any more info? Remember any articles before this time where you have seen it before? DVD+ R/W 03:25, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Here are the four I reported at AIV in the last few days: [5], [6], [7], [8]. Seems to me I saw it before that. I can't see any article histories I tagged because, except for Sunset Strip tonight, they were all new articles and got speedied. Fan-1967 03:35, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent job. The problem with this type of abuse is, as you said, that the articles get speedied which makes it difficult, even for administrators to review. DVD+ R/W 03:49, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I added a post on this at LTA.[9]. Please contribute any thing you can think of or add any more instances in the future. Regards DVD+ R/W 04:24, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

About the Day, Before Month, Date & Year, as I done the Dick Van Dyke Show.

[edit]

Basic arihhmetic "math" was my best & favorite school subject, from third grade to high school graduation. It was during my Junior High years, that I decided to study over the Calendar. My birthdate occurred on a Wednesday, my parents birthdates; both were on a Sunday, but 121 WEEKS & 847 DAYS differ among their birthdates. My birthdate after theirs, in days is 12,715 DAYS & 13,562 DAYS. Addition : (# of days differ, among my parents & I, 12,715 + 847 = 13,562. Back in my Senior High years, I have done all fifty statehood dates & figured what day all fifty were originally admitted. Deleware is 62,713 DAYS & 8,959 "WEEKS OF THURSDAYS" older than Hawaii! Daily, I think of numerals. That is how my username was created. The equasion; 63 x 927 = 58,401, the unique fact, behind it is the equasion is correct & it requires all ten Arabic Numerals (0 - 9).

If you want to go to Roman Numerals; MDCLXVI -

M (1000) D (500), C (100), L (50) X (10) V (5) & I (1) is 1,666, when added together, from highest to lowest & the 7 average out at 238 7 x 238 = 1,666.

Just to say 'you have the "ODDS in your favor", 3 x 19 = 57.

Thanks for info about prod.

I disagree that once a 5-day prod expires the article gets deleted automatically - the deleting admin is responsible. Wikipedia:Proposed deletion says the admin should agree with the deletion and provide "informative deletion reason, such as that given by the nominator, not just expired prod" (not done in this case).

Also, I was aware that the 5-days was coming up, but I wanted to sleep on the article (thinking about some of the unreferenced statements, and waiting for a response from the prod'er and original author). When I came back to the article, two hours before the 5 days was up, it was already deleted.

At the end of the day good content shouldn't get deleted, and that's what everyone's first priority should be. But stuff happens. Next time I will remove the prod at the first opportunity!--Commander Keane 13:29, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Acadame North maintains a 300artical crimminal code and a 250artical constitution. What do you think now?--Acadamenorth 21:35, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I think Sealand is actually a place. It's a rusting old oil rig, but it exists. Acadame North is just a webpage. You can add 10,000 more articles to your webpage, and it will still be just a webpage. Fan-1967 21:39, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

John Corvino

[edit]

I can understand why you'd be confused about what occurred. However the John Corvino article, the current one, is the one I wrote from scratch. The old article was not one I wrote from scratch. Hope that's clear. Wjhonson 06:54, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't be ridiculous. I'm not an idiot, and I'm not confused about anything. Article histories don't lie. You posted the same article, twice. You stripped down the John Corvino article only after the AFD was started. Fan-1967 15:57, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Look at the history of the article Homosexuality and the discussion on its Talk. You can see quite plainly where I *state* that I took the anon's constant edits and moved them to a new article. I state that I did that and then the new article appeared. So evidently you are confused about exactly who did what. I await your apology. Wjhonson 16:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What happened to your claim you wrote the article from scratch? Come on, at least try to keep your stories straight. Fan-1967 17:06, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I stated that I wrote the current John Corvino article from scratch. I never stated that I wrote the original one from scratch. The first one I created, was simply a cut-and-paste from the revert war on Homosexuality. As I stated in the AfD. I later moved that text off the page, and created a bio page. Wjhonson 17:13, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Only after the page was AFD'ed. And you only removed the content just to dump it into another new article. Fan-1967 17:18, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
And I never claimed otherwise. In fact I stated it very clearly (I thought), exactly what I was doing, and exactly why. So you're still fighting this without actually ever had read the current article? Wjhonson 17:21, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Acadame North

[edit]

You are quite wrong, I am not apart of that nation, first a far most the list I last checked of visitors is about two thousand the Micronation has thirty PERMINENT CITIZENS, Your Comment that nobody Cares? what’s that supposed to mean? Acadame North is recognized by the Partisans of Yugoslavia comity, the league of North American Micronations and they have made contact with Sealand and the Hutt River Province, your comments are comments are that of a 10 year old swashbuckler--Acadamenorth 18:24, 29 July 2006 (UTC) Questions comments visit my talk page[reply]

Wickethewok's rfa

[edit]
Thanks for your support on my RFA. The final vote count was (61/9/3), so I am now an administrator. Feel free to let me know how I'm doing at any point in time or if you need anything. Once again, thank you. Wickethewok 15:35, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies for re-prodding there - it's something I'm admittedly unfamiliar with and certainly something I shouldn't have taken on myself. I saw that the author had removed the tag and I mistakenly assumed that it needed to stay there. I should also admit that the author of the page had two more similar pages that I did the same thing to; whoops. Again, a thousand apologies! I'll be reading over the policies a few more times before I make any more moves. -Bkessler23 17:49, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Right, I'll try to get some shape into it. I was making sure that I wouldn't be wasting my time. Ta. Mr Stephen 21:28, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for supporting the AfD on "Guardians of High Charity"! However, there is another page which I also put down for AfD - Freelancer: Combat Evolved. It is a Halo 2 mod, and my reason for the AfD was for vanity and inconsequentialism.

The AfD discussion can be found at the following - Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Freelancer: Combat Evolved.

Thanks!

Cheers,

{{CURRENTMONTHNAMEGEN}}

[edit]

Well, it is a MediaWiki variable, not a template, so the error has to be fixed by a developer, not by a regular user... a list of other variables can be seen at Help:Variable, by the way. Titoxd(?!?) 05:04, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting. Wonder why it suddenly changed. Fan-1967 05:05, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i have asked permission to post them from the owner of http://www.historicalmacedonia.com. Thanks for the correction of Georgios_Sakellarios and for the tip about notability. I will try to find more infos about these people from other sources. Let me know for more observations.

Whoops.

Ooops, didn't realize the mistaken page had already been entered. Can you merge histories on the two? -- nae'blis 21:48, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ahh, thought you were, my mistake. Probably no big deal in this case, but I'll make a note on WP:AN to see if someone is bored... :P -- nae'blis 22:01, 4 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry your article got deleted, that guy John was real rude to you. I tagged him for vandalising that page. --DjSamwise 20:47, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

GBH Removal

[edit]

im wondering why the GBH CSS clan has been removed by you on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GBH ???—Preceding unsigned comment added by Olthof (talkcontribs)

Very simply, because it has been repeatedly, endlessly, consistently established that gaming clans do not meet the notability standards for inclusion in Wikipedia. Clans are only notable to themselves and (sometimes) to other players of that particular game. They do not belong here. Fan-1967 16:50, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Crap CD Deletion

[edit]

mind explaining why Crap CD, which is a widely known franchise in certain other parts of the world meets the criteria of deletion? at first glance it looks like a bunch of drunken frat boys, but where they come from they have started a revolution of independent filmaking, and people are always asking for more information on the topic of Crap CD. It's much more then a personal group of guys being added to wikipedia. it deserves to stand as a lighthouse of information for the hundreds if not thousands of people who are always asking to learn more on the subject to inspire them on their own independant filmaking goals. it meets the criteria and deserves to be in this OPEN encyclopedia just as much as "Albert Einstein"

Maggs

[edit]

Hi, no actually I had heard of the sociologist Jennifer Maggs. I think she has been on a show in the UK talking about alcohol problems in families. This is why when I clicked the name I expected to see an article. I did google her though to check and see what uni she was at in the US. I don't think she plays the clarinet!!!!! disturbing, when i am busy

[edit]

do not disturb SVP! I was busy with editing, do not disturb when someone is busy , that's annoying and rude. First let someone complete his article , after that you have to discuss with the maker of the article and then you can do your business.

Feel free to make all the edits to the article you want, as long as you don't break the rules. Removing the deletion notice is breaking the rules. Fan-1967 16:47, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

yes because I thougt after complete the article , the useless deletion thing could be deleted, so can you do that for me please???? Because there is no reason left to delete it.. thanks!—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruutbuut (talkcontribs)

Deletion discussion continues for five days. An administrator will decide then, but, frankly, there is zero chance of your article being kept. Fan-1967 17:38, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

can you tell me why there is no chance????—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruutbuut (talkcontribs)

sjeez, Get A life :S—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ruutbuut (talkcontribs)

Yes, I suppose I could do something more important with my life, like devoting it to simcity. Fan-1967 17:58, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

but I am young and have the summer break,so there is plenty of time for me and I do not devote my time with it , because I had a 4 week trip to the Maldives on a private island, and NO i do not lie, that is so ordinary people way beneath MY class, so i do not devote my time on playing simcity alone, and If I devoted my time on it, playing simcity is alot better than bothering people , that is so miserable and sick.
