ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:41, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User:反共抗獨光復民國

[edit]

Hello!

I noticed that you have warned User:反共抗獨光復民國 about edit-warring on the page about the Cambodian-Vietnamese War, but I wanted to flag that they are inflicting similar vandalism and casuing edit wars on the pages Khmer Rouge, Third Indochina War, and Vietnamese border raids in Thailand as well.

In each case the issue seems to be the same, which is that they insist Canada was a support of the Khmer Rouge despite their sources not backing that up. But when it's removed, they just re-insert it. (I think they've found similar bogus sources for other 'supporter' countries they've added, but I haven't confirmed yet). I don't have the power to revert these edits, and don't want an edit war, so if you can help stop this person, it would be helpful. Loquacious Folly (talk) 04:40, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I did notice. But, per 3RR, three reverts in 24 hours are needed, and it's not that bad yet. --Fama Clamosa (talk) 07:52, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's fair. Though what's the policy then if they're just popping in once a day to reinsert the bad information? Which seems to he the case now. Loquacious Folly (talk) 14:31, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I reported this to WP:AIV. Not sure it will work... --Fama Clamosa (talk) 16:08, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for giving it a shot! Loquacious Folly (talk) 03:56, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just FYI, per WP:NOTWALLOFSHAME, a user can remove things, including warnings, from their own talk page if they want. Restoring it probably doesn't affect their likelihood of reading and abiding by it one way or another, but if the issues persist, it can be understood from the talk page history that they were previously warned. A fox for you!

I just reviewed your article on the Acacia ant and I learned something new about their symbiotic relationship. Just thought it was neat! Thanks for teaching me something today!
