Edits to Right to a Healthy Environment

[edit]

Hi! I see that you were editing Right to a healthy environment -- however, I reverted your edits (see the link) because you changed the focus of the article from the global legal issue, to a very specific and essay-like opinion about the topic. Remember, the goal of Wikipedia is to document the global summary of a topic -- more specific examples or connections might live in other articles (i.e. connecting clean cooking stoves with the right to health environment, but the main "right to a healthy environment" doesn't have these much more specific topics in scope (or at least shouldn't be the headline issues in the article -- or presented as a form of argumentation). I hope you keep on editing Wikipedia -- but that kind of essay-like writing is not very helpful in fulfilling the goals of encyclopedic content, Sadads (talk) 00:58, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Thank you. Help:Editing and Help:Cheatsheet might also be helpful. - Sumanuil (talk) 05:34, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice and I hope that at long last, I am correct in respnding to you inj this way. m It's taking me a while to figure this out. I have a theory that the best way to learn is by making mistakes, then getting corrected. Please let me know, in case I am at long last on the right track.19:54, 29 June 2021 (UTC)

Edit summaries

[edit]

First, when you are editing an existing article, you are not creating articles, you are creating sections. Second, 'ref' inside < > starts a ref, but to close a ref requires '/ref' inside < >. That is why the article was compromised. You were correct to revert your own additions. You can comment on article Talk pages, Talk pages of other editors, and respond on your own Talk page to comments left their by other editors. Lastly, you are allowed to delete content from your own Talk page. David notMD (talk) 15:22, 29 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, User:David notMD, I think I have finally figured out how to leave comments on my talk page properly. And thanks for clearing up my confusion over "articles" and "sections". FahnbullehV (talk) 15:22, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
