nomination of Jack James (fencer)

Thankyou for your nomination of Jack James (fencer). I am in the process of going through every article in birth years. I started in 1927 births and have worked my way back to 1914 births. I have seen lots of these articles sourcesd only to olympia.com and sportsreference.com, or only to olympia.com. Some may have other sources that people did not find because the default notability guidelines meant people did not feel a need to hunt down more sources before creating an article. • So if I understand right, sportsreference.com is an attempt at being more comprehensive than Wikipedia wants to be, and so is not a source adding towards GNG. So Justo José Caraballo, which is an article only sourced to it, is no where near having the sourcing to pass GNG, at least in its present form?John Pack Lambert (talk) 13:49, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

Request move

Hi, hope you are doing well. I recently closed a RM at Talk:Girl of My Dreams (The Moffatts song)#Requested move 29 December 2021. I moved Girl of My Dreams → Girl of My Dreams (The Moffatts song), but unfortunately i couldn't move Girl of My Dreams (disambiguation) → Girl of My Dreams. Williams Haskins

I have to agree with you, that we have no good indication that people searching for this name are looking for an unremakable olympic athlete. Victor Putmans

Assuming no sources can be found to clarify who this guy actually was, just AFD it. We definitely shouldn't be hosting articles about someone we aren't even clear on the most basic details of and with no reliable sourcing at all. FOARP (talk) 14:52, 6 January 2022 (UTC)

Discretionary sanctions topic area changes

In a process that began last year with WP:DS2021, the Arbitration Committee is evaluating Discretionary Sanctions (DS) in order to improve it. A larger package of reforms is slated for sometime this year. From the work done so far, it became clear a number of areas may no longer need DS or that some DS areas may be overly broad.

The topics proposed for revocation are:

• Senkaku islands
• Waldorf education
• Ancient Egyptian race controversy
• Scientology
• Landmark worldwide

The topics proposed for a rewording of what is covered under DS are:

• India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan
• Armenia/Azerbaijan

Additionally any Article probation topics not already revoked are proposed for revocation.
