Mariah Carey

[edit]

Why do you change the sale numbers without giving a reliable source? And if you read the discussion part of this article, you will see that the number can't be right. Here, read this: 170 million albums? Reidlos 17:46, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mariah Sold more than Whitney Houston RIGHT ??????!!!!!!!! so why its written that she sold 150 Albums in her page here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whitney_Houston well and i remember when Mariah appeared in David Letterman Show he said that she sold OVER 150 MILLION ALBUMS World music awards said that she sold over 150 Million Albums and its written in her website that she sold over 160 million unit (that doesn't mean its albums and single) in her record company "Island" said that The Emancipation Of Mimi sold 10 Million units and in her website "Music Box" sold 30 million unit and Forbes.com said that she sold 160 Albums in this link:- http://www.forbes.com/digitalentertainment/2007/01/17/richest-women-entertainment-tech-media-cz_lg_richwomen07_0118womenstars_slide_7.html?thisSpeed=30000

  • Do you really believe these inflated numbers and look at her discography site [1], the source (her RECORD COMPANY: [2] says that Whitney has sold 140 million records.
  • I know the media says 150 million albums for example the World music awards but they also said that Michael Jackson's "Thriller" album has sold about 104 million copies although Michaels record company said in 2003 that it has sold about 60 million albums or that Celine Dion has sold 175 million albums between 1987 and 2004, but if you take the sale figures of the biggest music markets in the world, the number isn't anywhere near to the 175 million. The same is also with MAriah. Virgin said in 2001 (her record company at that time) that she has sold 150 million ALBUMS + SINGLES [3] (without her 30 million albums and singles sold in this decade). Reidlos 14:43, 29 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know, he said that, but I think, her record labels and her homepage is more believable than Randy. This 165 m number was metioned a lot but in my opinion this number just represents her worldwide album sales and US single sales, because these figures were reported the most by media trade groups and international recording industries...

Regarding Mariah Carey: Please stop adding information about Carey's vocal abilities/profiles without providing reliable sources. Wikipedia is not a publisher of original thought - you cannot listen to YouTube videos and concert mp3s and add to Wikipedia what you or anybody you discuss them with think the highest notes are. Thanks. 80.0.72.76 18:31, 6 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Fair use rationale for Image:Dreamlover (Screenshot).jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Dreamlover (Screenshot).jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
