Recent edits at Ezra Lee

[edit]

In regards to your recent contributions to the article, Ezra Lee, according to Wikipedia policy at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution: When two editors disagree over what to do with an article, they must talk things through politely and rationally. I have problems with your recent edits at that article. You removed material which is supported by independent, reliable sources and then added new material which is not supported by any such sources. I reverted those edits and explained this at the article's talk page. If you wish to discus the issues that you are not happy about then respond at that talk page. I hope that we can arrive at a consensus on its content and improve the article for readers of Wikipedia.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 06:44, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Ezra Lee. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Ezra Lee (musician), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 21:56, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Ezra Lee (musician), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use the sandbox for that. Thank you. Information icon Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Ezra Lee (musician). Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 21:56, 4 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove all content from pages without explanation, as you did with this edit to Ezra Lee (musician). If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing. –Gladamastalk 03:40, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to own article

[edit]

Gladamas - is there some legal issue with false information about me and my family. I said I want this page gone. It is not true information. How can I prove I am Ezra Lee ? I did not start the article. This article is basically against the law and I have been calm about it for a long time but my edits can't be proven and newspapers are making mistakes and it's not an article I want. so what now - to remove it ? is there an email that works ?

Hello, Ezra Lee. You have new messages at Gladamas's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

  • Hi Ezra. You're allowed to edit an article about yourself, however be aware that it is not "your" article. You still have to explain your edits, use the talk pages, talk to other editors, cite sources, and understand that content is included based on verifiability, not truth. If you get into a dispute, you need to talk to the other party and seek dispute resolution. If your edits get reverted, they are still permanantly saved in the page history. For obvious reasons, a subject cannot simply hold the trump card on their own article without being questioned or even reverted by the community. I suggest you simply start by talking to Dl2000 and ask why they reverted your changes on the article, and if you need outside help, WP:BLPN would be a good place to go. If you need any assistance, feel free to ask me at any time. Swarm 23:10, 5 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you very much for your comments and I will try to verify my comments. I am still trying to figure out how to verify that Pete 'Flash' Sheedy is not my uncle and how to verify that I indeed do not have a 'live' album ? And I want to update it to 2016 but again - no proof. There are too many people changing everything here so I'll have to leave it and hope no one looks at it. I wrote half this article, not logged in and no proof so I can't understand why some is left some is not then a automatic robot comes along and drags stuff from all over the internet to create the new article and it is believed because it has 'sources'. How come these sources are so true ? Does anyone really think newspapers and magazine articles get it right all the time or don't lie ? It is impossible for me to combat that ! So just hope people see the article and think 'Wikipedia', don't worry they never get it right. Can you be in my shoes and see a wrong article about yourself that has been 'proven' by 'reliable sources' and you cant verify and you have people in your industry using it as your official bio - you would not be happy I'm sure.
I do understand you need some verification so no one can just write what they want so I would rather have not have the page at all. I'm not a famous person so why have it there in the first place ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ezra Lee (talkcontribs) 10:31, 6 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I understand. My comment was meant to be informative and was not intended to obstruct you from correcting the article. Here's my advice: make moderate changes with a clear explanation in the edit summary. As the subject, you can't drastically cut content from the article to the degree where people think you're changing the point of view; other editors will quickly step in to block that. However I seriously doubt anyone will impede you if you remove certain claims on the basis of inaccuracy. Just explain yourself. If you're being unreasonably and wrongfully obstructed, let me know and I can step in. Swarm 21:28, 12 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

May 2017 edits at Ezra Lee (musician)

[edit]

I have reverted recent edits by User:Ezra Lee. That editor removed considerable material from Ezra Lee (musician) in a similar manner to @Ezra Lee piano:, @ELofficial: and @1.152.96.12:. Each of these users have claimed that they are the subject of this article. Once again I advise these editors to read Dealing with articles about yourself.

User:Ezra Lee's recent edit summaries indicated a desire for editors to contact the claimant directly via email prior to reverting those edits. I did not do so. I believe the proper place to deal with these matters is Talk:Ezra Lee (musician) where interested editors may provide their understanding of the situation. I ask User:Ezra Lee (and any other claimant) to provide their rationale there and wait for consensus to be reached prior to making the changes being discussed.

Furthermore according to Wikipedia:Username policy usage of Ezra Lee, Ezra Lee piano or ELofficial may be misleading. Some of the edit summaries by these users and commentary above indicate a violation of Wikipedia:Ownership of content policy.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 23:39, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
