[edit]Please do not add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to Luciferianism. While objective prose about beliefs, products or services is acceptable, Wikipedia is not intended to be a vehicle for soapboxing, advertising or promotion. Thank you. — Richard BB 22:56, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
How do I add to the nontheistic Luciferianism section?
- Firstly read WP:GNG and ensure that your addition passes these guidelines. Herald of the Dawn does not. — Richard BB 23:03, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
I don't get it . . . 90% of the entire article is the opinion of someone. Should I just add to the section? I also see that this Neo-Luciferian church has called all the shots on not only this article but they have links to their website on the Lucifer wiki article "who is Lucifer" How does that all work? --Etu Malku (talk) 23:27, 17 December 2013 (UTC)
- The point is that the rest of the article is taken from reliable sources or notable organisations. Herald of the Dawn just has a simple Google site and is not considered notable enough for the article. — Richard BB 07:39, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
So, it's 2015 . . . when are all the inconsistencies going to be addressed and when are you going to add information from real Luciferian organizations like The Greater Church of Lucifer, the Order of Phosphorus, the Ordo Luciferi (since you don't recognize the Herald of the Dawn as an organization, which they all do) ? I'm not sure which information you mean
[edit]I see that this account added material to Luciferianism (which was reverted because the material did not meet our guidelines on notability) and Lucifer (which contained unsourced and promotional material).
Some important site policies and guidelines that someone should have explained by now:
- "Truth" is not the only criteria for inclusion, verifiability is also required.
- We do not publish original thought nor original research. We're not a blog, we're not here to promote any ideology.
- Always cite a source for any new information. When adding this information to articles, use <ref>reference tags like this</ref>, containing the name of the source, the author, page number, publisher or web address (if applicable).
- It is recommended that you do not add anything relating to yourself to article space, and it is expressly forbidden to use Wikipedia to promote anything about yourself. Personal websites are generally not allowed in external links.
- A subject is considered notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
- Reliable sources typically include: articles from magazines or newspapers (particularly scholarly journals), or books by recognized authors (basically, books by respected publishers). Online versions of these are usually accepted, provided they're held to the same standards. User generated sources (like Wikipedia) are to be avoided. Self-published sources should be avoided except for information by and about the subject that is not self-serving (for example, citing a company's website to establish something like year of establishment).
- Articles are to be written from a neutral point of view. Wikipedia is not concerned with facts or opinions, it just summarizes reliable sources. Real scholarship actually does not say what understanding of the world is "true," but only with what there is evidence for. In the case of science, this evidence must ultimately start with physical evidence. In the case of religion, this means only reporting what has been written and not taking any stance on doctrine.
Ian.thomson (talk) 20:32, 17 April 2015 (UTC) I suggest the entire page on Luciferianism be rewritten then . . . it is misinformation at best, it does not reflect what Luciferianism is about. I suppose I am not suited to add to the page since I haven't a grip on the protocol involved. Etu Malku (talk) 21:02, 17 April 2015 (UTC)
