Thank you for these verry usefull information, just what I need. Thanks
Your VandalProof Application
Dear Esurnir,
Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. --frothT C 03:59, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Thank you
Thanks for reverting vandalism on my page :-). -- Kerowren (talk • contribs • count) 06:03, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
User talk:203.81.161.153 blanked same page you warned
User talk:203.81.161.153 blanked the same page after your warning three minutes later. Ronbo76 07:19, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
- I am doing it the manual way as I still a relatively new editor. I see that you have applied for a webtool above. I am building my reputation by going on vandal patrol whenever possible and contributing to articles. Eventually, I am told, the higherups will approve you for higher user status when one has a proven track record of edits. Ronbo76 15:17, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Hey, sorry.
I didn't know where to message this to you, but I'm on a school computer and I didn't blank any page. Thanks for doing your job though. Sorry about that. It was probably my stupid friend, lol.--24.106.176.19 15:13, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
RE: Ok, thanks. I don't really want to contribute, but I'll consider it. :)Sounds like something to do with my spare time.--24.106.176.19 15:26, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
An Automated Message from HagermanBot
Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 21:48, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Ok, you are right. I will be careful, and I will try to see what I can do with the text in the talk page. Cheers! Baristarim 22:35, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
My Blocking
I would put an on, but I did so twice and both times had it refused without good reason and my talk page was protected. There's nothing I can do except rant.--82.2.135.222 23:46, 10 January 2007 (UTC)
If he didn't unblock you, there must be a good reason. Wait the time of your block (shouldn't be too long) -- Esurnir 23:49, 10 January 2007 (UTC)

Cuba
Your edit here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Cuba&diff=next&oldid=99892157 seems to have corrected the penultimate change but not the change immediately before yours (which was also vandalism). I don't know if this is a problem with using popups, or something went wrong when you were using it. -- Beardo 22:59, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
Information.png
Hi, I have the PSD (Photoshop) with which I created this image, but not on this computer. It will take a bit of time to convert it to SVG, but I do not see any urgent need. I am not very experienced with vector graphics either (if I was I would have done it in SVG in the first place). However, you are welcome to convert it, but I would just ask if you can to make sure you preserve the original detail. As I said before, SVG is good but since we don't need this image in gigantic sizes, and it's not for print, we are not in urgent need of an SVG version. Thanks for your help, Renesis (talk) 05:31, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Templates
Hello, thank you for helping deal with vandalism! One comment, though — the user talk namespace templates are usually "substed", so that instead of, say, {{test}} you write {{subst:test}}. It's not a big deal, but it prevents your edit from being altered if somebody changes the template after you use it. Again, thanks for helping revert vandalism! Feezo (Talk) 18:28, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Merci bien!

Vandal warnings
I think you and I both know that 99% of the time when you see certain types of vandalism you know what the vandal is up to. I would love to just have the ability to block on the spot. But there are processes that have been outlined in the policy documents that tell us that we can't bite the newbies, must assume good faith, and don't scare off new editors that just make mistakes, etc. When evaluating whether or not to block a vandal, most admins look to see if a proper set of warnings (test1, test2, test3, test4) were given and violated. I've seen admins not block if the vandal patroller jumped straight to test4 and leave a harsh comment about being too aggressive on the patroller's talk page. I don't know about you, but I don't want harsh admin messages on my talk page. And if they do get put there I think it tends to diminish your credibility with vandals and peers. Take this note or leave it but I figured you'd rather have a friendly note from a peer that you can remove than a harsh one from an admin that you (technically) can't remove. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 20:52, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hello, sorry about the block on sight I just followed the instruction leaved by the template used on top (if further vandalism : block) (or if it wasn't the case it may be because I lack of caffein right now ^^') . -- Esurnir
- Or is it because I reported a guy after giving only a test4 ?. -- Esurnir 21:05, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- No, it was just that I saw that you had given a couple of anon vandals a test4 immediately on their first contrib (granted it was vandalism) or had jumped from a test1 to a test4. I've seen people get scolded for that. That's all.-- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 21:14, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Hmmm the last time I did that, I think it was after a progressive blanking pattern (means, blanking litle part by litle part, to avoid detection by our software), when I see that "pattern" I asked on irc wich warning would be appropriate, and told them about test4im ("Only warning" instead of last warning) and first they told me test3 then said "oh forgot about it, take this one"). Any advice about wich warning to take next time ? -- Esurnir 21:18, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, I've found that if you want to be really productive against stuff like that, you have to get in the middle of it and give progressive warnings. It does make my skin crawl that I have to sometimes wait until a vandal vandalizes again before I can give the warning that I know they deserve. But that's the only way that I have no problems when asking for a block. Some of the admins are very particular. Look here for a list of the templates that I use. I usually start at test2 and go from there. It's more work but I rarely run afoul of the bureaucracy. The only time I give an only warning (test4im) is for a vandal just off a block or with a recent last warning (not the same day). -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 21:30, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Temple of Blood
Why did you place a speedy delete tag on an article that is a month old? --E tac 21:17, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Well you are wrong because a band doesn't have to have more than 1 album. That is just one possible requirement of many that a band may meet to meet notabilty requirements. And please sign your posts, and you should have added a new heading. Magazine reviews are not newspapers listing dates of shows. --E tac 21:27, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Well technically since you are the one who placed the tag on it so you could remove it, but don't worry about it as I am confident the article will be kept. --E tac 21:37, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
User:Nathandymott
A {{db-bio}} template isn't suitable for user pages. I've left it on, but an admin will remove it. Regarding E Tac's message above, you'll probably be well aware that you can speedy articles of any age. I have to say that, heartless deletionist that I am, I probably wouldn't have added {{db-band}} to Temple of Blood. I would, however, have added {{notability}} and {{unref}}. Keep up the good work! All the best, Angus McLellan (Talk) 21:42, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism Edit
In regards to the edit you reverted at this link, it was not a nonsense edit. I was just updating the templates for the most recent congressional elections. I am sorry for any confusion the edit may have caused. - PoliticalJunkie 23:22, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

WikiProject France
Hello! We are a group of editors working to improve the quality of France related articles. You look like someone who might be interested in joining us in the France WikiProject and so I thought I'd drop you a line and invite you! We'd love to have you in our project :-) STTW (talk) 21:11, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Fade (novel)
Hi, I noticed that you recently made a revert to the Fade (novel) page. It seems to have been edited over the past few days by the same person under numerous accounts (ie sockpuppets). The same kind of POV review of the novel is being added by about 8 different user names and an ip address. I've never really encountered this kind of vandalism before and wondered if you could help in any way. I've looked at WP:SSP but am still a bit clueless as to how to proceed to be honest. Any ideas? - Belovedfreak 18:43, 23 January 2007 (UTC)
Which uw-joke template did you mean to use? --Geniac 20:45, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Frida Kahlo
I got a vandalism warning recently for a change i did on the Frida Kahlo page. The sentences I purged were opinionated and stated that she was a "loose" woman and were a completely biased description of her with no sources to back it up. It was disgusting and I don't see how it was vandalism to erase someone's ill informed opinions about her. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rumblegirl (talk • contribs) 19:05, February 4, 2007
sorry
you have recently sent a last warning notice to my school's IP address regarding the stanford prison expiriment. Please do not judge our school based on the retardness of some of its students. There are some of us interested in making Wikipedia even better. again sorry for any idiocy my classmates may have committed. Ryan shell 19:10, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
Torrent project
Not sure if you know, but, the 0.5 WPCD released a couple of days ago, and we made a torrent for it. It seems to be running, for both files (.iso and a compress .bz2). Come check it out! Here!. Nominaladversary 03:37, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for keeping an eye on my user page. I made those particular edits myself (having forgotten to log in) but I am already expecting my user page will get a lot of vandalism... thanks again, TxMCJ 20:53, 18 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry Esurnir, didn't mean to step on your edit when we were reverting Electric Chair. Wikidenizen 21:04, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
I know, I marked it for speedy deletion. Why are you notifying me? LittleOldMe 14:41, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

- Oh my god. I really did that O__o' ? What the. I can't remember having pressed the revert button, that's a terrible mistake on my part. I will try to fix it asap. -- Esurnir 05:09, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

French Weapons of Mass Destruction
Esurnir - there is also a good site on the French Wikipedia about the Force de Frappe - I have no objection to merging all three articles - in English and French - for that matter we could reintegrate Gerboise Bleue and Operation Canopus as well - but I am not sure how that would fit with rules of the Military History Project - maybe you need to ask them. I'm only interested in the content I don't care what heading it comes under.Newsnightmeirion 21:30, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
