Hi, what help are you looking for? BTW, the above templates are meant for articles and not for users -- Lost(talk) 16:14, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks - you were so quick you over wrote my request. Anyhow, I've just expanded the article London Fire Brigade but my list of references (in footnote style) has duplicated itself and I'm out of time to edit. Escaper7 16:19, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please refer to either Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Mysterious problem involving footnotes and citation templates or Wikipedia:Village pump (technical)#Strange situation with footnotes. It seems to be an error that suddenly appeared out of the blue. -- Lost(talk) 16:20, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Great but I'm really pushed for time and this looks like a whole lot of reading, should I put a clean up boilerplate on it to attract other editors? Escaper7 16:23, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Dont worry. This seems to be a temporary problem. Most of the time, it seems to go by itself -- Lost(talk) 16:25, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Escaper7 16:28, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

London Fire Brigade article

[edit]
Hi - I'm a native Londoner with an interest in the emergency services and wanted to suggest an additional section in the article on the LFB's services (and possibly their procedures, where appropriate - similar to the detail on the FDNY).

I've created a "starter" section on services (and added some more links and info to other sections), but was hoping you could assist in developing it further as you seem to have expertise and/or knowledge in this area. Thanks! - HTUK 01:47, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Emergency Services Articles

[edit]

Hi there, I have noticed that you have made many contributions to the Emergency Services articles on Wikipedia and I would just like to say that they are greatly appreciated on Wikipedia. You have also made many positive contributions to the article Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service which is excellent (I actually created the article). Well just to say good work and please do keep it up! One last thing, I too am a member of WikiProject Fire Service. if you want to reply please so so [1] Tellyaddict 12:43, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edit conflict

[edit]

Hi

Sorry about that! Have finished edits on the MPS page now. Cheers. - HTUK 12:19, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please could someone have a look at Fire brigades in the United Kingdom and an article I have started Fire Service in the UK. I wanted to merge the former into the latter because I think the existing article wasn't detailed enough, and the title was inappropriate. My article was given a 'suggested merger' boilerplate I tried to sort it but got in a bit of a mess, so I copied the table from the former article into mine and expanded my article considerably over a couple of hours, but we still have two similar named articles.. Anyway I have to log out, and don't know how to sort it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Escaper7 18:45, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you think you've completed the merge simply redirect the former to the latter, by replacing the article text with #REDIRECT [[Fire Service in the UK]], we leave the existing article in place so the history of contributions is preserved. --pgk 18:50, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MP

[edit]

Thanks for the message. Having a bit of a break from the Met page. I think I've left it in a bit of a mess with the map and so on. Bit unsure of how to proceed. Hopefully you might know how to clean up? I still need to add all the call signs to all the BOCUs etc but its getting a tad messy! I'll let you have a stab. Regards Dibble999 15:43, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've had a look at your edits and its a vast improvement. Not really up to speed on this Wiki business yet but have good knowledge of the subject at hand! I'll have a bash at improving it some more later this evening. Yep, perhaps the map is a bit too much, anybody could look up the boroughs on here if they wanted to see a map I suppose. I'm all for making it less plod speak, you must stop me if I start adding jargon. And yeah, before you ask, I'm a serving officer in Greater Manchester Police but transfer to the Met at the end of the month. Thought editing this page would give me an excuse to do some research into the organisation I'm joining shortly! Regards Dibble999 17:26, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

...and I added the missing directorate! Dibble999 17:32, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

...and the last missing directorate has been added. Ooops. Dibble999 12:19, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Advice please

[edit]

Have a look at the article AFunk it seems to be a vanity piece, look at blatant name refs and confer with name of article editor. It's being added on to other irrelevant articles so I reckon it should be deleted, or a spam warning or something put on it. Any thoughts? Escaper7 11:46, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has been tagged for speedy deletion and will be deleted soon. Thanks. You may like to have a look at our Wikipedia:Deletion policy -- Lost(talk) 12:13, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have and like many pages on Wikipedia - they are long and time consuming, I'd rather spend my time editing articles, but thanks for the advice. Escaper7 12:25, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Freemasonry

[edit]

The craft is something I enjoy a great deal, although I do find it challenging to keep up the commitment when life is in itself very busy. Hope you find the time to contribute to the various FM articles, it'll be good to have the view from our side of the pond represented more :) ALR 18:28, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciate your concerns about the various FM related articles, things can get quite tense there at times and we're well used to new editors coming in and making quite significant changes. However the articles are general and about a topic which varies hugely around the world, so it's wise to avoid making them too specific with regard to national issues. Notwithstanding that I agree with your points about the SR article being too heavily dominated by a Southern Jurisdiction perspective. It would be valuable to have another UK editor being involved but it pays to discuss significant change before making it, most of the regular editors will revert major changes because we've found it's very easy to slip in insidious bits of misinformation which have been quite unhealthy in the past.
Anyway, best wishes for your next meeting. My second R+C was probably more confusing than my first :)ALR 12:44, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism music pages

[edit]

Can an admin, or someone block this user, see: User talk:70.112.99.138 for repeat spamming music articles with external links. I've added a warning, but I'm really pushed for time at the moment and can't devote any more attention to this. Have attempted to revert some of the edits - the vandalism has been spread over two days. Escaper7 04:49, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. A coulple of admins (including myself) now appear to be monitoring the user's activity, and have left additional warnings. In the future, you can report vandalism (including spamming) at WP:AIV. Thanks. --ZimZalaBim (talk) 07:55, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Upcoming template changes

[edit]

Hi, I've just noticed that you recently left a templated userpage message. I'm just bringing to your attention that the format and context of these templates will be shortly changing. It is recommended that you visit WikiProject user warnings and harmonisation discussion pages to find out how these changes could affect the templates you use. We also would appreciate any insights or thoughts you may have on the subject. Thanks for your understanding. Best regards Khukri (talk . contribs) 11:47, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dubstep

[edit]

{{helpme}}

This article needs de-spamming. There are several external links, blogs and it's causing several reversions. I'm not sufficiently knowledgeable on this subject: Dubstep so it need a bit of attention, and some admin style comments on the Talk page. Thanks. Escaper7 14:59, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Although {{helpme}} is good for attracting attention quickly (although in this case it seems to have taken over an hour), it's less good at attracting wide attention or contacting admins. You could try one of the dispute resolution processes or leave a message on the administrator's incident noticeboard if you think administrator tools would be helpful. --ais523 17:05, 30 October 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject Law Enforcement

[edit]

Hey there Escaper7. I was about wikipedia putting projects banners for the Law Enforcement Wikiproject on Law Enforcement articles, and I noticed your comments on the talk page of Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis. Having looked at your homepage, it seems you have an interest in law enforcement articles, and I was wondering if you would like to join the project? Many thanks, SGGH 18:04, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Page protection

[edit]

We generally try to avoid having pages protected for too long, as that violates the principle of Wikipedia as a whole. If the vandals return, please request protection again. BTW, it should be noted that I was the one that requested protection in the first place. I have had this page on my watchlist for some time and I will act to re-protect quickly if the vandals start actingup again. Cheers. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 11:15, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here is a helpful link to show you where I was coming from : this should sum it up. Cheers and thanks for your hard work on this article and the on on British hip hop. If you have any more questions, do not hesitate to ask. youngamerican (ahoy hoy) 11:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help pls!

[edit]

Fairwater Leisure Centre looks like it might qulify for speedy deletion. I don't have time to nominate this - tried once and messed up the AFD page. Ta. Escaper7 13:44, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It doesn't look like it qualifies for speedy deletion, but it might do well with a prod, proposed deletion. See that page for more information, it's pretty easy: just add {{subst:prod|reason}} to the top of the page and if uncontested, it'll be deleted in 5 days. Hope that helps! --Keitei (talk) 13:50, 9 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BMW E90

[edit]

Sorry if my changes were a bit too sweeping, but I was simply trying to clean up the article a bit. I will review the article cleanup suggestions on the discussion page. I understand that the SE and M Sport trim lines are very different; I work for a BMW centre. However, I do not believe that the M Sport model merits an entirely separate section. Possible WikiProject BMW

[edit]

I have decided to begin going through the BMW entwicklung engineering-series articles and revising or rewriting them where needed. See BMW E38 for an example of my work so far (it's still not completed). I was wondering if you (or any others) had any interest in starting a WikiProject for BMW to complete this lengthy task.

The project's abstract goal would be create and maintain a unified look for all engineering-series pages (like BMW E90 and (eventually) the overarching model pages (like BMW 3 series). This would be accomplished through several objectives, with one major one being the creation of a standard for all "BMW Exx" pages as far as what information they contain and how it would be laid out. Leave me a message on my talk page if you think it'd be a worthwhile idea. Fuscob 04:27, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Wow. That's incredible. OK, perhaps should pack it in for the night, then, if I'm missing such simple stuff. Hornplease 12:25, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Escaper7, welcome to the WikiProject Fire Service! It is my goal to increse the overall quality of articles on English Wikipedia relating to the fire service while keeping an international perspective. Please feel free to leave me a message with any questions! I look forward to working with you! --Daysleeper47 21:40, 28 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure why you reverted my changes, in general articles should not be multiply listed in parent and grandparent categories. I am in the middle of cleaning up all the fire related categories - since there is lot of over categorization and inconsistent use of categories.. Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service

[edit]

Sorry about the TWFRS article but 'Fire Station' and many of the other phrases on the article needs capital letters and i believe it is proper English, I am not arguing with you but I have too spent a lot of time capitalising the article because I believe its correct english.Tellyaddict 19:52, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue article

[edit]

Hi, I'd just like to apologise for all of the inconvenience caused by my edits on the TWFRS article even though I still think it seems correct. living in England I had much knowledge on the subject but for matters such as capitalisation you were right and I'd just like to say sorry and I hope this wont turn in to an argument especially over such a small matter. Well sorry again! Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! --Tellyaddict 14:19, 14 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Might it be a good idea to put an "Editors beware" comment on the top of the article? I'd do it but you appear to have a better grasp than me of the wording regarding contempt of court and so on. Cheers, Tonywalton  | Talk 11:32, 18 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't stress about the accusation of getting stressed ;-) I think I'll go ahead and put a comment on the top anyway, WP:BB and all that. How about (in comment tags)

EDITORS PLEASE NOTE: Since an arrest has taken place (though the arrestee has not yet been charged), legal proceedings are now active regarding the subject of this article. Please be aware that this article MUST NOT contain statements, speculation, etc which may be adjudged to prejudice the outcome of any eventual trial and/or to hamper the ongoing police investigation. Vandalism Tim Westwood

[edit]

I'd appreciate some help with a rather sophisticated act of vandalism to the Tim Westwood page. Please look at it and block this user. I haven't reverted the article yet. Thanks. Escaper7 12:54, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just revert page back, set warning {{subst:test}}-{{subst:test4}} [3] on vandal's page and if necessary report him here [4] ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 13:25, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Re: vandal should be warned a couple of times unless it is a vandalism account only. In case of obvious blatant vandal report him here [5] at the bottom. Put there {{vandal|username}} or {{IPvandal|IP}} and he will be blocked soon by some watching administrator. ≈Tulkolahten≈≈talk≈ 13:30, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tyne and Wear FRS

[edit]

Hi, with your help and the help of Daysleeper47, I'll correct the Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service article so it's perfect; upon reading Wikipedia guidelines it turns out you were right and I was wrong (I admit it!). Anyway have a Merry Chritams and a Happy New Year.

Crunk Notables List

[edit]

I've gone through and fixed up the links and alphabetized the list of notable artists in the Crunk article. I don't really know anything about the music so I've tried not to touch the list itself except when it was very obviously wrong. Excuse me, please do not TELL me I didn't read the article, I did actually. When I read the official website at first I didn't see the bit about district stuff, but now I've seen it and I admit I was wrong but you are not very polite on talk pages and could make more of an effort, please do not jump to conclusions; you are not assuming good faith per Wikipedia policy - you seem to be assuming bad faith, everybody makes mistakes sometimes (even you) - there is no need to be nasty about it. Tellyaddict 15:38, 22 January 2007 (UTC) [reply]

  • Thanks for your help with County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service, even though we have had disagreements in the past - wikipedia is a friendly place and I hope we can stay as good editors - after all me, you and others want to create all good FRS articles.
