Thank you!

On behalf of my Algebra 2 class, thanks :) (this was a quick lesson about why not to use Wikipedia as a source.) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.160.100.137 (talk) 20:08, 2 December 2016 (UTC)

@173.160.100.137: Glad I could help, although I hope your test also showed that unconstructive edits are often quickly reverted to help maintain the integrity of Wikipedia. :) Eric-Wester (talk) 20:13, 2 December 2016 (UTC)
I don't think they did that. Prof was probably 86 years old and wanted to prove a point about how the library is the only place to get any information and that the entire internet must be burned to the ground. (Hyperbole is used in a satirical manner). -- Kndimov (talk) 18:35, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
@Kndimov: Thanks for the laugh! :p Eric-Wester (talk) 18:37, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Reverts

Please do not revert some of the deletions that I made on the People Power Revolution as they are made in good faith. Some of the entries come from opinions and not hard facts thus affecting the neutrality of the article. I will try to find better sources. Thank you. Phthalocyan (talk) 08:17, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

@Phthalocyan: I appreciate the note and you letting me know your edits were in good faith. From viewing your change, it had the appearance of merely removing a large chunk from the article with no rationale behind the change. Eric-Wester (talk) 08:20, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

You changing my humorous remarks

You are a very boring person, please learn to have fun. It's amazes me that only one minute after I made the changes you were able to show how boring you were. Bye LivHayes (talk) 23:45, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

@LivHayes: Please refer to the sandbox for future fun. Thank you! Eric-Wester (talk) 23:48, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I changed your warning here, as it's a WP:BLP, so a 4im warning felt more sufficient. ThePlatypusofDoom (talk) 20:06, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi Eric-Wester,

I thought that I was working in my sandbox when I made those changes. I spent many laborious hours putting in all of the footnotes requested by a previous Wikipedia editor. You have removed all of my footnotes. Please put the footnotes back, those are supposed to be there and were requested. If you don't like the other edits that were made that is fine, I can leave those out, but could you please return all of those footnotes that I spent all of that time putting in and were requested by a previous Wikipedia editor? You have in one stroke deleted many hours of my work which is of course frustrating.

Could you please also explain to me how this draft is not my sandbox? I admit that I am new to Wikipedia editing and do not understand how all of this works. Does that mean that my article has cleared notability and is now on it's way to real live Wikipedia? If so that is amazing and I am so excited. I will be more conservative in future edits.

Many thanks. Andrea Lambert (talk) 02:46, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

@Andrea Lambert: Hi, Andrea. My apologies for any confusion that was caused. I can see that I inadvertently deleted several changes that you had made in good faith. I reverted the change I made and restored the article back to how it was previously. Please take a look now. Eric-Wester (talk) 02:58, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Hi Eric-Wester,

Thank you SO MUCH for reverting my article. That is weeks of work in very good faith that I made trying to improved this Wikipedia article. I like it much better now. THANK YOU!!!! Andrea Lambert (talk) 03:03, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

User:Espresso Addict did the same thing with me. She had deleted my article from wikipedia. so please tell her to undo the changes she had made. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prvn khaitan official (talkcontribs) 03:32, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

@Prvn khaitan official: Hello. The page you were editing was within Espresso Addict's own user space. Generally, you won't edit pages within someone else's own user space. Have you considered leaving Espresso Addict a message to ask why the article was deleted? I'm sure they'd be willing to elaborate on the reasoning. Eric-Wester (talk) 03:37, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

San Francisco 1906 Earthquake

I was attempting to re-insert an external link in the page on the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire. The link is to a website containing many photos of the event by JB Monaco, a well-known North Beach photographer of the era. The link had been present on the page formally but is no longer there. Am wondering why it was removed .. it the reasons were technical I will try again. I have read guidelines concerning what makes a relevant link and this seems to qualify. If there is another reason, I won't attempt to re-submit. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.130.138.96 (talk) 20:12, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

@24.130.138.96: Thank you for your message. Please refer to Wikipedia:External_links#What_can_be_done_with_a_dead_external_link. The link you provided was not a valid link. Additionally, you may want to read on Wikipedia:External_links#Advertising_and_conflicts_of_interest, which may apply here. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance. Cheers! Hi Eric, I've been working on editing the page for Glutamine—fructose-6-phosphate transaminase (isomerizing) for a school assignment and pretty much have added everything on it so far. Unfortunately I'm having a problem with copyright. The material flagged had yet to be cited so I was wondering that if it is properly cited if it's okay for it to stay on the page? This is very important that I get this problem resolved as my completed page is due tomorrow. Thanks for your help!

@Driddle1297: It looks like there's a detailed explanation that was left here on your talk page. Have you read that? It looks like the problem may be more than just missing citations, based on the message. I'd be happy to help answer additional specific questions that may not be addressed already. Alternatively, you could leave a message for Josve05a, the person that left the message about the copyright issues. Eric-Wester (talk) 21:12, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

revert of "Keith Cowing" article

re: the cowing delete, there was an explanation for the delete as follows: (Shameless self-promotion, "long-standing" or not, nothing notable in this failed short-term gov't employee who went on to eke out a hand2mouth existence on the web being a gadfly to a tiny little government agency. Strongly recommend deleting.)

I edited the reverse sneezing page as the references link to content that is no longer available. At any rate those websites were highly inaccurate with no citations. In my opinion as a veterinary surgeon the content isn't at all correct and can give false information to pet owners, impacting on animal welfare.

@89.241.235.140: Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, the solution to finding inaccuracies in articles is never to completely blank the article (deleting all of the content). Doing so is considered unconstructive. Instead, please consider editing the article to make it more accurate and correct what you feel is shameless self-promotion, but be sure to add an edit summary that explains what you are doing. You can also leave a message on the article's talk page expressing your concerns and what you feel should be changed. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Cheers! Eric-Wester (talk) 23:13, 5 December 2016 (UTC)

Glossary of Psychiatry

There is a problem with the entry "Brain Fog" on this page. It describes a real syndrome with the unfortunate name "Brain F*g Syndrome" -- see the wiki page Brain fag syndrome — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gpc62 (talkcontribs) 03:35, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

See the wiki page Brain Fog (which redirects to Clouding of Consciousness)

I keep trying to fix this problem, and either filters or people like you keep reverting the change.

This description, is NOT the correct description of "Brain Fog":

Brain Fog[edit]

Main article: Brain fog

Brain fog is an example of a culture-bound syndrome. Once a common term for mental exhaustion, it is now encountered almost exclusively in West Africa. Seen predominantly in male students, it generally manifests as vague somatic symptoms, depression, and difficulty concentrating.

Please tell me how I can edit the page and add the word f*g in the bona fide name "Brain F*g Syndrome" without being stymied every time I try by well-meaning people or bots like you.

If I do the whole change at once, a filter tels me I'm inserting multiple obscenities (f*g). If I try to go one step at a time, one f*g per edit, I get jumped on because the intermediate step looks like vandalism. Gpc62 (talk) 03:40, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

@Gpc62: Awe, I can see where you are running into issues. I have edited the article to include the information that you were trying to insert. Please take a look at my change here. Feel free to modify the verbiage as you see fit. Sorry for the trouble! Eric-Wester (talk) 04:01, 6 December 2016 (UTC)
@Eric-Wester: Thanks. I've revised the two entries so that they make sense now.Gpc62 (talk) 04:26, 6 December 2016 (UTC)

The Velvet Underground is not avant-garde and does not incorporate too avant garde to rock. And the sources are not reliable, they are writings of some anonymous user

Rollback on Kevin Lembo

Hey, just wanted to apologize for rollbacking you on Kevin Lembo. I was trying to revert vandalism by 104.255.144.139, but accidentally hit 'rollback' on your edit instead of 'restore this version' on the old version. Mea culpa! -IagoQnsi (talk) 02:33, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

@IagoQnsi: No worries! Cheers. Eric-Wester (talk) 02:40, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Sorry about that

I was scrolling and I accidentally rolled back an edit you had made while I was trying to click on something. Once I realized my mistake I rolled back my rollback. So yeah, that's why that happened if you noticed it happening. – 🐈? (talk) 23:57, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

@What cat?: No worries at all. Happy editing! Eric-Wester (talk) 00:04, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

Goffinfan90 (talk) 04:07, 8 December 2016 (UTC)

@Goffinfan90: Thank you for your message! Please refer to Wikipedia:Verifiability for more information about the importance of including references and inline citations for certain types of edits. This is especially important when adding such changes to articles about living people. Let me know if I can help further. Cheers! Eric-Wester (talk) 04:31, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

National Association of Engineering Student Councils

They are legit and need a Wikipedia entry. I do not have the time to do it so it is up to YOU to make it happen. If you don't want to take on that task than leave my commands alone. I out rank you. I'll only listen to Wales on this one and I have his email address and have talked with him in the past. I'm being respectful. Get out of your box. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JasonWesCrusherLind (talkcontribs) 18:15, 10 December 2016 (UTC)

Answer

Hi, I saw your message so I wanted to ask you a question? Do you know how to read? If you do, then I'll assume that you did not bother to read the edit summary. Don't worry, I'm still not assuming that you undid the edit because you have a non neutral point of view. Actually forget it. I've just saw your link to Twitter account. I can't spend useless time trying to communicate with yet another intellectually immature 20 year-old millennial. Sorry for the inconvenience

@2.136.88.9: Hi there. I apologize that the rollback distressed you as that certainly wasn't the intention. The change in question was reverted because you removed a fairly significant chunk of cited information from the article. If you feel the content should be removed, I would encourage you to start a discussion on the article's talk page so we can get a couple other people's opinions. Alternatively, you're welcome to consult with a neutral third party editor to get a second opinion. Please let me know if I can help in any way. Eric-Wester (talk) 21:59, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
