helo, do you speak spanish?, how you came to know about the situation in this page?, just curiosity, and congratulation, you seem to know a lot of Diabladas history.
- Yes I do, and thanks, I have been studying it for months. But can I make you a suggestion? it's always better to make an account and focus on the specific content of articles using the Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines, else people try to bully you and harass you because you're anonymous.--Erebedhel (talk) 18:38, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
ok i will, keep with the good work, your arguments are much more stronguer than the one that made the diablada page. hope you van change it with the truth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.178.240.27 (talk) 06:11, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- I have presented a formal complain because he refused to delete his insults to Bolivia here if you want you can sign it because you also tried to make him understand that he has a biased point of view.
by sign in it, you mean i add my disagreement of the "Diablada page"?, should i use my ip number, or my registered account, sorry but iam new in litigations at wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.178.241.29 (talk) 15:13, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- If you have an account it'd be better to use it but also you have to mention that you're the IP, he thinks you're me. I'll present that in the case too.
- Oh and no it has to be on the complain form here: Wikipedia:Requests for comment/MarshalN20#Users certifying the basis for this dispute not in the talk page. Where it says Users certifying the basis for this dispute of course you can read all my statements and you have to agree if you disagree you don't have to sign.
to sign just put below my name:
:# --~~~~
And remember is like a formal accusation so you have to follow the Rules read them first.
--Erebedhel (talk) 22:41, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
done, check it out, i am RBCM, am i missing something???
- No it's perfect thank you. Now I'll let the administrators deal with the problem meanwhile I'll continue investigating. If you're interested in the subject you can also investigate and contribute with the article. It's better to focus on the content of the article and put more sources.--Erebedhel (talk) 18:24, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
hello, how are you doing, havent seen you this days.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 131.178.241.224 (talk) 14:46, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you I'm doing fine, just that I don't think it's possible to work in such a hostile environment there so I have to wait till things calm down. Meanwhile have you been reading Wikipedia's tutorial and manuals? I think that the better way to contribute is by researching and trying to work in the article itself and you should use your account to work as a full Wikipedian. I'll be researching as well but meanwhile I think Marshal won't be willing to work with others so I'll let him alone.--Erebedhel (talk) 18:23, 5 October 2009 (UTC)

you have my suppport as well, i see you have been doing great, we cant thank you enough!!!!--RBCM (talk) 05:49, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you for your support I really appreciate it, I think I have enough information to make an accurate article the only problem is that others let me put information and correct some parts, it should be easy and normally it is but not when people have prejudices, this situation is very exhausting but I hope I can reach some sort of agreement. --Erebedhel - Talk 16:24, 2 November 2009 (UTC)
Apology Regarding the Sock-Puppet Claim
[edit]I would like to make a formal apology for accusing you of holding a sock-puppet in RBCM and the IP Addresses which were associated with the incident at hand. As demonstrated by the result in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Erebedhel, you have been found to be non-guilty of the charges. However, this apology does not go for anything beyond that. Best regards.--MarshalN20 | Talk 22:26, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- BozMo was only an advisor in the matter, so there is no need to contact him for updates (You can do it if you want to, nonetheless). In any case, you already have the direct Wikilink to the investigation (If there's any future doubts, make sure to use that to prove your non-connection to the other users). I accept your apology for the RfC, but I'm not particularly happy about it staying there for it doesn't mean that I'm forgiving you for accusing me of being associated and/or being the puppet-master of Unknown_Lupos or for the exaggerated comments in regards to me; but I'm no longer worrying about such things. However, I am still highly bothered at having been accused of having a hatred towards Bolivians; particularly after I spent more than half a year arguing on behalf of Bolivia in the War of the Pacific article. My comments in regards to Bolivia's government, and up to a certain extent my jokes in regards to Bolivians creating silly arguments and dancing the Diablada every single day (which still sounds quite comical to me), were not the most appropiate at the moment of the discussion but they were never personal attacks upon any user (Much less were they "harrasing" Bolivians; though I do see a somewhat aggresive tone from Lupos in his talk page comments, but that's his problem). In regards to the Diablada article, the Mediation Cabal proposal is hopefully going to help settle the matter, thus I will not talk about it here as I don't find it appropiate to discuss things related to the article in personal spaces.--MarshalN20 | Talk 01:02, 30 October 2009 (UTC)

RBCM message of 26 November, 2009
[edit]Hello I hope you are doing fine, I was wondering why don’t you upload the dictionary of el diccionario de la real academia in the Bolivian diablada, I think it is the most simple and realible source, or I can do it, iam also gadering people to add more thinks to this article about the Bolivian diablada and about the source, I think they found something crutial that is going to appear later in the news, be aware, take care --RBCM (talk) 10:37, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
- Hello, nice to see you again, I'm doing fine, thanks, I hope you're doing fine too. Well as you know the current version of the Diablada article is not mine, it's MarshalN20's. And so far the process of editing the article is extremely delicate and I've presented a Request for Mediation which was accepted but until now it wasn't taken by any mediator, I hope someone will be in charge soon. Once it starts you can see the process in Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/Diablada and if you please also participate.
- Regarding the DRAE, I consulted about it here you can see the responses I got. So the source is reliable but some people don't accept how is used. I wanted to get some more help to write it better but Marshal burst in impeding that a polite and ordered debate about it could be conducted as you can see here. I'll try to see how can articulate that information better during mediation.
- Finally I'm glad that you're still interested in contributing with Wikipedia, I always thought that collaborative contribution would be better for Wikipedia. You're always welcomed to edit directly in the article just following the rules and if you make any changes, since it's a conflictive article, it'd be better to explain them in the talk page in a polite way focusing in the content not the contributors if someone offends you try to ignore him; I'm also glad to know that there are more people interested in contributing more information would be really great, just avoid breaking WP:CANVASS (read that rule first).
- I'll be also trying to research more and I hope that a mediator can take the case soon. Take care --Erebedhel - Talk 23:37, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
Following your comment here, I've listed the image for deletion at Wikipedia:Possibly_unfree_files/2010_January_25#File:Ekeko-moderno.jpg. I'd assume the editor doesn't read the article talk page (it's not exactly that obvious) and frankly the kinds of editors who would knowingly upload copyrighted information don't generally want to discuss why people are concerned about their conduct. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 10:12, 25 January 2010 (UTC)
Reporting vandalism
[edit]Hi. Thanks for your report to AIV just now. When you find vandalism, the first thing to do (after reverting it) is to warn the vandal with one of the standard warning templates, usually {{subst:uw-v1|<article-name>}} up to uw-v4 - they are listed at WP:WARN. The first level, uw-v1, "assumes good faith" so if the vandalism is obviously silly or malicious start with uw-v2. If there are previous recent warnings, step up to the next level. (With an IP address, it may not be the same person, so old warnings may not be relevant). We do not normally block until there has been further vandalism after a recent level 4 warning, including enough time for the vandal to have read it. General advice on dealing with vandalism is at WP:VANDAL. Keep up the good work! Regards, JohnCD (talk) 10:32, 1 February 2010 (UTC)

Comment on the User talk:Erebedhel/Workshop
[edit]Hey Ereb,
I've been reading over your updated workshop, and I have to say that it's looking fantastic. There are still some minor biases in the work, but in the overall it's really neutral and well-articulated. The rest of the article seems to be good enough for GA quality rating (especially if you add the pictures the main article has), though there are some blanks which still need work. I would suggest you include what you have into the article so that you don't have to do all of the work by yourself (i.e., other editors can "fill in the blanks" in some of the sections). Best regards.--MarshalN20 | Talk 02:56, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit]User: Spartan
[edit]Hi, I'm looking forward to an unblock, it said it was "indefinite" for the account. I talked to the guy (User:Ryan_Postlethwaite) that blocked it for a while, but he seems to have dropped off the face of the earth. Is this a dead end? Because I'd rather not have to keep using another account, I'm still going to edit regardless of the fact that Spartan is blocked, but frankly I think I'd get more done if I had my "official" account back. I don't know if you're an admin or not but I figured it wouldn't hurt to shoot in the dark with someone else. Thanks, 96.50.86.207 (talk) 22:35, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Re:Diablada
[edit]Hello Ereb,
There's not much to edit on the article after your improvements. At this time what it would need is an experienced copy-editor that can format the article in such a way that it meets GA status. I'd like to research more on the Aymara theory of the dance, but time-constraints make that practically impossible. There could probably be more about it on the Bolivian side of things (considering the Aymara are more abundant in Bolivia than Peru).
Research aside, my opinion remains the same as before: the Diablada is a regional dance that identifies a unique culture that overlaps the borders of various countries in South America. It seems government tensions have eased in recent months, but I am disappointed that both have not resolved this matter in a civil manner. I am sure that Bolivians can understand that Puno, once a part of Charcas, shares many of their customs not because they are trying to "steal" them (as I have read in some commentaries from newspapers) but for historical reasons that go further back than the existence of both of these nations (Peru, Bolivia). Few in Peru really care (or practice) the dances from Puno, but that does not mean puneños don't have a right to their cultural identity.
In any case, thank you for the good wishes. I hope you have a great Christmas and New Year's celebration as well. As a side note, it would be great if you could provide some of your knowledge on the War of the Pacific article. I've been in there trying to defend the Bolivian position for a very long time, but no actual Bolivian has ever been able to provide their information into the article (at this time, the article mainly represents Peruvian and Chilean positions; the few Bolivian-related parts have been mostly done by me, and as a non-Bolivian I have only done what best I could based on the sources available to me). Best of wishes.--MarshalN20 | Talk 03:56, 12 December 2011 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
[edit]The Special Barnstar | |
You have been a great contributor to the encyclopedia. I haven't heard from you in a while, but you deserve this barnstar for your edits on the Diablada article. Regards. MarshalN20 | Talk 02:32, 9 February 2012 (UTC) |

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:33, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
