Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 03:40, 18 December 2009 (UTC)
The article Leisure World, Seal Beach, California has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable retirement community.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or onthe article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TNXMan 20:39, 15 February 2010 (UTC)
- Whatever. I'm tired of fighting for the content I add. If being the first major planned retired community in the U.S. and having a population bigger than most of the towns and bergs that are in Wikipedia is insignificant, than delete away... Don't forget to tag the rest of the retirement communities in Wikipedia for deletion too since they have less significance than this one.
Fair use rationale for File:Depeche mode its no good.ogg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Depeche mode its no good.ogg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. JD554 (talk) 07:44, 17 March 2010 (UTC)
- Good lord! Does anyone read the top of the page before posting these messages? Please stop bothering me about deleting anything I did on Wikipedia. Just delete it already! I don't care enough anymore to argue about it. Epolk (talk) 02:49, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- The notice was added automatically by script. I didn't even come to the page to add the notice. --JD554 (talk) 09:54, 18 March 2010 (UTC)

I noticed you created this category a few years back, I've suggested renaming it to "Art Deco architecture" to be more consistent with other architectural styles. You can comment if you want here. TheGrappler(talk) 22:22, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Re: Infobox hot spring
[edit]Hi. I've noticed that you have done some work on pages that use {{Infobox hot spring}}. I've been working on a new version of the infobox and I have started a discussion on the template talk page. –droll [chat] 18:44, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Grin grinning ghosts.ogg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Grin grinning ghosts.ogg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with ourcriteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. SchuminWeb (Talk) 19:16, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:Akin gump strauss hauer feld logo.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Akin gump strauss hauer feld logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Courcelles 13:17, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Collective nouns
[edit]I'm minded to revert your good faith additions for the following reasons
- Your source says that many lack real currency (ie non-notable), so they need an additional reference to show that they are not just made-up terms.
- It's not clear whether the terms refer to all members of the group, as your addition implies. Are Horned Coot, Puna Plover and Alpine Chough ever referred to by these terms? If so, needs a ref. I have to say that having written an FT, two FAs and a GA on the choughs, I never once saw this term in an RS source
Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:25, 19 April 2011 (UTC)
- I did also find an Audobon Society site that talks about some of those same terms (cover of coots, wing of plovers, chattering of choughs, etc.) Of course, the Audobon Society is from the U.S. side of the pond so therein may lie the differences. I really don't care enough to fight about it. Please feel free to revert the changes as this is your area of expertise, not mine.
