[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Gamers: The Movie. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 11:47, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Please do not delete content from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Gamers: The Movie, without explaining the reason for the removal in the edit summary. Unexplained removal of content does not appear constructive, and your edit has been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox for test edits. Thank you. --Geniac (talk) 20:19, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
[Image:Information.svg|25px]] My apologies. I only recently discovered this page. I will try to remember to do that. I am fairly new at this. Thanks for the constructive criticism.--Encyclopedia Mike (talk) 06:45, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Persistent promotion of Gamers: The Movie
[edit]Your entire edit history at Wikipedia suggests you may have a conflict of interest regarding Gamers: The Movie and its director, Chris Folino. Both articles are your creations and every one of your edits appears to promote the film or Folino. Concerns about a possible conflict of interest have been raised at WP:COIN. —Whoville (talk) 20:19, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Whoville, this is my first article. I have nothing to gain in writing about these subjects. It's merely the first article I've ever done here and it has been a learning process. I wanted to start out with a smaller subject and learn it before I tackled larger subjects. I am learning a lot about referencing and proper notation. And thanks to feedback from people like you I am learning you SHOULDN'T cross reference everything. But I would feel bad if my lack of Wiki knowledge got a notable subject deleted from this reference source. --Encyclopedia Mike (talk) 06:50, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Folino
[edit]An editor has nominated Folino, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Folino and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:59, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback regarding the signatures. it was very constructive and helpful. I hope you and others will realize that my mistakes were out of ignorance and not spamming. And I hope you will support keeping these articles online. I think the subjects are valid and I appreciate any help in improving these articles. Now I will sign off properly!!! --Encyclopedia Mike (talk) 06:53, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 18:02, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Thank you SineBot. I am a novice on Wikipedia. This is my first article. None of my edits were intended to "promote" the film. I doubt that an encyclopedia is the place to do that anyway. I did think this was a good movie and an up-and-coming director that did not have a previous insertion. I assumed you linked everything that was in an article. If that is wrong, I am willing to make that correction. But the film and author has won more critical acclaim than many other movies on this site and I believe it is justified in being here. I have no financial interest in this movie. I hope that my mistakes do not jeopardize what is otherwise a justified and critically acclaimed--Encyclopedia Mike (talk) 06:26, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
Resolving Folino & Gamers?
[edit]The process is explained at WP:COIN; Wikipedia's definition of conflict of interest is at WP:COI. It's up to another editor to determine whether there's a conflict and mark the issue as resolved. So far, the comments of two other editors suggest they're unconvinced a conflict exists although one remarked that your edits "look like examples of spamming." Meanwhile, Gamers: The Movie and Chris Folino have not been nominated for deletion. —Whoville (talk) 03:37, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Draft:Sparks (Movie), and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GxmcA6E_kQ.
It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.
If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 23:24, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Sparks (Movie)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:Sparks (Movie) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.sparksmovie.com/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Replaceable fair use File:Folino with Jake Busey onset of Sparks.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Folino with Jake Busey onset of Sparks.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Diannaa (talk) 21:27, 1 November 2014 (UTC)
