RfC on the type of treemap

Hello JayCoop. There is a discussion going on about using which type of treemap for 2016 United States presidential election in each state articles. Please join the discussion, so the dispute can be resolved. Thank you. Ali 19:08, 5 March 2017 (UTC)

Middle names/initals

Sorry, but I've declined your request for moves of all those middle initials/names cases. At the rate they were listed, there's no chance that thorough enough research was done to make sure that the proposed title is the clear common name and that renaming would be uncontroversial. Feel free to list any of them for requested move discussions, but I would recommend against bundling them in a single nomination. Jenks24 (talk) 13:36, 9 March 2017 (UTC)

Voting age - image you provided

Hello JayCoop, I was wondering if you could please address some issues I have highlighted on Talk:Voting age with the image you provided on the 'voting age' page? The topic is headed 'Iceland and the Faroe Islands - mistakes'. Many thanks in advance. Helper201 (talk) 00:15, 31 March 2017 (UTC)

Efforts to impeach Donald Trump

Jay, I did not deliberately introduce incorrect information to Efforts to impeach Donald Trump. I am certain all is factual. I did attempt to parse my wording to be neutral. but hey! I am learning what is going to be acceptable to document here. peace 72.228.136.47 (talk) 15:10, 20 May 2017 (UTC)

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Invitation to San Diego wiknic and bonfire

Hello, JayCoop. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, SummerSlam (2017), for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

List of WWE Pay-Per-View events

Please check out the talk page of this WP article. We have someone who is making threats to have the entire page removed. OldSkool01 (talk) 10:03, 3 July 2017 (UTC)

The file File:GUE-NGL logo.svg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Simple logo? Equivalent media at Wikimedia Commons is under a 'free' license, c:File:GUE-NGL logo.svg.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. UDI logo and similar

Are you using vectorization software to convert the logo of the UDI and other political parties? I ask because there seems to be a clear decrease in quality with the text that wouldn't occur if they were simply redrawn – for example, on the UDI logo, comparing to the official graphic, the letter "n" is clearly oblong, the "d" lacks the sharp edges present in the original lettering, and the letter "e" differs each time but, needless to say, seems rather wobbly compared to that in the original logo (sharp edges on the lower-right). I also noticed similar strange anomalies in the FI logo lettering as well (especially with the curvature of the letter "a"). Mélencron (talk) 23:33, 16 July 2017 (UTC)

@Mélencron: I'm using Inkscape. Jay Coop · Talk · Contributions 00:03, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
What's going on with the lettering, then? (For the record, here's a comparison.) Mélencron (talk) 00:12, 17 July 2017 (UTC)
@Mélencron: It's the software. I'm using Trace Bitmap → Brightness cutoff → 0.450. I then separated the path by copying and pasting a duplicate and deleting nodes on both paths so that I can add color. I use GIMP to find the hex code. Jay Coop · Talk · Contributions 00:17, 17 July 2017 (UTC)

A page you started (List of people and companies named in the Paradise Papers) has been reviewed!

Thanks for creating List of people and companies named in the Paradise Papers, JayCoop!

Wikipedia editor Animalparty just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

You might consider expanding the lead, and per WP:BEGIN, it is redundant to begin a list "This is a list ..." (just as articles shouldn't begin with "This is an article about..."

To reply, leave a comment on Animalparty's talk page.

Comment on Tongo Tongo ambush DYK nomination

Hello - I want to make sure you are aware of a comment I left at Template:Did you know nominations/Tongo Tongo ambush. Thanks for all you do to make Wikipedia a valuable resource. KConWiki (talk) 02:46, 24 October 2017 (UTC)

I have removed the tag from this article so that its DYK hook can appear on the main page, as articles with dispute-type tags are not allowed according to the DYK rules. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:08, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

DYK for Tongo Tongo ambush

On 8 November 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Tongo Tongo ambush, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Frederica Wilson suggested that President Donald Trump's response to the deaths of four American soldiers in the Tongo Tongo ambush in Niger might become his Benghazi incident? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Tongo Tongo ambush. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Tongo Tongo ambush), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
