Speedy deletion nomination of The Center for Global Health and Diplomacy
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The Center for Global Health and Diplomacy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.ghdnews.com/index.php/about-ghd/about-us. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —Largo Plazo (talk) 16:08, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

In response to your note on the article's Talk page
[edit]In case you don't see response to you on the article's Talk page before it's deleted:
Hello. It isn't just a matter of citations here. You can't just wholesale copy pages from other websites like that—even with permission, you also have to be authorized to donate whatever you write here under one of the free-licensing arrangements provided by Wikipedia, so that others are free to copy it from here. See WP:DCM. Also, be aware that if you do make arrangements to donate the material and post it here, other users are perfectly free to alter it, so that needs to be OK with the original copyright holder as well. —Largo Plazo (talk) 17:01, 22 April 2015 (UTC)
Also, the content you posted takes the form of a communication from the organization. This is not permitted. Wikipedia articles are impersonal reference articles, written from a neutral point of view, and may not be used for the purpose of promotion or other forms of outreach. —Largo Plazo (talk) 17:05, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

- Hi Emilyw12, I have recently left the following comment on this afd: :Comment Did a google search and there are plenty of pages mentioning the Center, their forums, and publications but none go into any depth, being mostly press releases from other orgs and the Center (as stated by editors above), so don't meet WP:GNG. However, googling the subject of Global Health Diplomacy does bring up some pages that could be notable. Suggest Delete for this article with a copy going back to the article's creator sandbox and a suggestion that they work on creating an article on GHD (and of course submitting it through AFC. I will copy my ramblings to the creator's talkpage Coolabahapple (talk) 15:23, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
- Have a look at WP:GNG and WP:RELIABLE and Wikipedia:Your first article to get info on writing articles. Also, the Teahouse is a great place to find help, you can even ask for a mentor. Also, submitting your article through Wikipedia:Articles for creation might be a good idea. Hope this helps. Coolabahapple (talk) 15:47, 1 May 2015 (UTC)
