There are various guides, I'll link to one. Starting with simple things (editing small mistakes like spelling errors as you may encounter them) is a good way to start.

Hello
[edit]Hi,
I'm bob, and I'll be helping out with your course. If you need a helping hand with anything technical on wikipedia, just ask on my talkpage or on the course page. There are some useful links here:
- Instructions for students
- Wikipedia tutorial
- How to edit a page
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
Don't forget to sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help with anything, just ask. And when you're actually working on an article, remember that sources are your best friend - the things you write should be verifiable, and if you have any disagreement or uncertainty, the best way forward is to ask "What do the sources say?". I hope you have fun, and maybe after your course you'll stick around... bobrayner (talk) 14:00, 27 October 2012 (UTC)
Hi Emily
[edit]I just cleaned up some of your references for you a little. They were doubling up in the reference section so I fixed that. Anytime you want to cite "Changing Planet, Changing Health" from now on just put <ref name=pinebeetle/> and it will link to your original citation. Hope I didn't step on any toes.Mitkrow (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 06:11, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
