I undid your changes to the Easter article, because there aren't "35 dates" on which Easter can fall. It can only fall on a Sunday, and even when you consider all of both March and April, there just aren't 35 possible Sundays. :) Regards, Kimchi.sg 12:29, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
- To be fair to this (new at the time) editor, there are 35 dates on which Easter can fall, if you refer only to calendar dates i.e. March 24, April 7, etc., as was implicit from this editor's version. However, your edit re-stated the point much more clearly, so no need to revise further. Just wanting to be fair to a new editor. Agent 86 01:14, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
E.F. Schumacher Society
[edit]Please be aware that I have added the {{notability}} template to E.F. Schumacher Society, an article you created. You may wish to revise the article so that the facts set forth in the article make it apparent that this is a notable organization. The appropriate guidelines can be found by following the links in your welcome message. You may also wish to read What Wikipedia is not. Agent 86 18:01, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Computus
[edit]You recently changed the Epact table in the Computus table. Unfortunately collections of numbers like this are vulnerable to uninformed or malicious edits, so it would be very helpful if you could provide a citation right at the head or foot of the table explaining where this material can be verified, so that the correctness of your edit can be verified and preserved. --Gerry Ashton 21:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for your recent additions to Ted Bundy. Please take the time to find and add reliable sources to document the factual accuracy of what you added. It looks right to me, but an anything like this it's always a good idea to refer people to a specific book that makes the claim. DreamGuy 20:34, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
km to mile conversion for Good Friday Earthquake
[edit]Hi. Thanks for your contribution to the Good Friday Earthquake article. Unfortunately it appears your conversion of kilometers to miles was performed backwards. I've corrected values, but wanted to give you a heads-up for your future conversions. --Dan East 02:54, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Lucretius
[edit]Hi Emeraldcityserendipity, I am not entirely happy with your minor edit to Lucretius. I don't think you can say that a 'notice states'. Faute de mieux, I will therefore return to the original wording. Best regards, --Fabullus 09:44, 26 August 2007 (UTC)

Your edit summary usage
[edit]Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field - please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you. Ohmpandya (Talk) 22:30, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
wiki links
[edit]Hey, thanks for your contribs to Green Tortoise. I noticed that you added wikilinks to terms such as Wednesday and Thursday in the article.. ( diff ). While adding wikilinks can be helpful, in this case it is not considered appropriate. You can read more at [[1]] , which states, Make links only where they are relevant to the context: It is not useful and can be very distracting to mark all possible words as hyperlinks.
Thanks for you contribs though, and stick around!.. Feel free to drop any questions my way! ∴ here…♠ 23:03, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Pike Place Market: Rachel the pig
[edit]Please see Talk:Pike Place Market/Archive 1#Official mascot? (and, please, any response should go there, not here, because I won't be watching here). Your edit in July 2007 claimed that Rachel is the Market's "official" mascot. You didn't cite anything Do you have a basis for that? Was Rachel's status made official some time shortly before that? Because Pike Place Market News, March 2006, p. 12 overtly says "Rachel is not the official symbol for the Pike Place Market—or the Market Foundation." - Jmabel | Talk 06:08, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Date formats
[edit]I'm curious about your recent edits to Leonhard Euler. I could be wrong (it's pretty confusing, really), but my understanding of the section on dates in WP:MOS is that Gregorian and Julian dates should be clarified as much as possible, not blurred together, as your edit appears (to me) to do. My favorite example of a really good use of this style is the lifespan dates at Isaac Newton (including the footnote that's linked to the dates), if you'd like to have a look. I don't want to do anything to the Euler article without checking with you first because this is a weak area for me and I want to be sure that I'm not wrong. I'll appreciate anything you can tell me. Thanks! -- edi(talk) 15:37, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits to Landover Baptist Church
[edit]I have reverted your edits because there is no evidence that this site has Phelps and his cult particularly in mind; Landover in fact began before Phelps was famous outside his own area. The roots of the site are far more likely to be found in Chris Harper's own experiences as a student in fundamentalist institutions. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:10, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Jim Jones appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. Please note that using the word "massacre" does not apply in this article and conveys a person point of view of such events. Not everyone was "massacred". Wildhartlivie (talk) 04:38, 25 April 2009 (UTC)

The US Census Bureau's webpage (www.census.gov) clearly states that the median household income of Pennsylvania is $40,106; also, 22.4.4% is not even a real number!
Request
[edit]Could you please use edit summaries before saving your edits? Pretty please, with sugar on top? It is really very helpful for other editors.
Thanks! —BMRR (talk) 03:09, 24 July 2009 (UTC)
- OK, how about explaining why it is that you refuse to use edit summaries? At this point I'm just curious more than anything. —BMRR (talk) 22:43, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't know how.
- When you edit a page on Wikipedia, there is a blank space directly below the edit window that says "edit summary." All you have to do is briefly describe what you edited, and then you can either preview your edits or save your edits, just as you would normally do. See Help:Edit summary. —BMRR (talk) 19:47, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

If Interstate 25 is 1062.77 miles long, why do the figures listed for the three states (NM - 462.12, CO - 304.95 and WY - 300.05) add up to 1068.11 miles?!?
Date formatting
[edit]Hello. I saw your recent edit to Ezra Taft Benson. Please review WP:DATE, as both Month DD, YYYY, and DD Month YYYY are acceptable on Wikipedia and are not necessarily associated with any country. The rule of thumb is to be consistent throughout the article. However, when using the former method, Comma#Uses (under In dates) indicates that a second comma should follow the date (after the year) in order to be punctually correct. Regards —Eustress talk 13:34, 5 March 2010 (UTC)
Edit summaries
[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. JohnInDC (talk) 10:38, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- I see others have raised this before. It's really quite a bother for other editors, who don't understand why you made a particular change, to have to then research the thing to see if the change makes any sense, or is properly sourced - I have in mind your edits to the "total areas" in the infoboxes of particular states. It's just the kind of change that a crafty vandal would make. Subtle, seemingly well-informed, but wrong. In your case (at least the one I checked), I was able to find your source, but I had to spend 10 minutes digging through articles and links to figure it out; and then another 5 minutes adding this template and message. You've been around Wikipedia to know how to add edit summaries, so please do it. Thanks. JohnInDC (talk) 10:38, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, I see that you have been adding them, most of the time, for a while now. I apologize then for my somewhat snippy tone. But do please continue to add them, meaningfully. (You had one that was very helpful, about where you were getting the area figures.) It saves the rest of us a lot of work. JohnInDC (talk) 11:01, 22 October 2010 (UTC)
I have reverted your edit to this article as the area of Michigan is obviously not 96 sq miles. It would be best to provide a source for these kind of changes, as well. Rmhermen (talk) 14:41, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Delaware. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. I undid your change in the area of Delaware. There was no basis for reducing it by a square mile. Beirne (talk) 22:45, 27 October 2010 (UTC)
Wikipedia's article that lists the ranking of states by area states Delaware's square mileage at 2489.27; it seemed logical to round that figure down, rather than up.
- You've made a good mathematical point. Next time just include your reasoning in the comment field and it will be fine. --Beirne (talk) 21:29, 29 October 2010 (UTC)
Unnecessary area accuracy
[edit]What's with all six-, seven-, eight-digit area figures for areas that you're adding? They add nothing of value to the article, only making it easy to misread (commas and periods look very similar in many browsers). Do you have a reason for adding that level of detail, other than the fact that it's available? - DavidWBrooks (talk) 21:22, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

I have been editing US counties removing gratuitous information about land, water and total area. (I see no reason to provide figures to the hundredth of a square mile; a whole number is sufficient).
When you undertake changes that affect a large number of pages, you should first discuss the idea. The article Robert Cushing has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Cahk (talk) 08:07, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
Jacob Barnett
[edit]I saw that you added a birthdate to Jacob Barnett with no reliable sources. Please don't do that; see WP:BLP. In this specific case there was already a discussion of this on the article talk page that concluded that some sources others had tried to use for the same information were not reliable and unusable; see Talk:Jacob Barnett#Birth date. —David Eppstein (talk) 04:02, 3 March 2017 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Lloyd Lodge, World Fellowship Center.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Lloyd Lodge, World Fellowship Center.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 17:39, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of people who have walked across the United States, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Rose bowl (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages
[edit]You're probably not aware but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. The article about the person you added to January 28 did not have any source to back up your addition has been reverted. Please do not restore it without providing a direct reliable source. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 18:50, 7 January 2018 (UTC)
- Ok, now you should know better. No sources support your addition to January 6 in the article about that person and your edit has been reverted. Please stop adding unverifiable information to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Days_of_the_year pages. Toddst1 (talk) 17:43, 11 January 2018 (UTC)
- I've cleaned up after you once again at January 23. Please add sources for DOY additions. Toddst1 (talk) 15:00, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for January 9
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited July 22, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alan Hale (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

- I've gone ahead and added a source to back up your recent addition to July 22. Please find sources for additions to these pages as the burden to provide them is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages. Thank you. Toddst1 (talk) 18:06, 11 January 2018 (UTC)

Your draft article, Draft:Christoph Schmauch
[edit]Hello, Emeraldcityserendipity. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Christoph Schmauch".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:45, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

[edit]Recent edits to Martha Washington
[edit]I think this edit/date might be incorrect. Mount Vernon and other sources have Martha's birthdate as June 2, 1731 - which I think is New Style/Gregorian and not Old Style/Julian. Anyway, I think her birthdate should probably be reversed from what it is currently. Welcome your thoughts - Shearonink (talk) 23:13, 29 December 2019 (UTC)
