About "This Book Loves You"

Hey, thanks for the advice on what to do! I'm new to Wikipedia (as you should be knowing) and I reverted the page to redirection. Also, is this page acceptable?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Rollingcontributor/This_Book_Loves_You

I moved it into my user space. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rollingcontributor (talkcontribs) 12:20, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

You're welcome! Seems to be acceptable, yes, but it should have more content before it's moved into the main/article space. Eman235/talk 12:27, 24 October 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Wikipedia Guide to Deletion

Eman, I thought you would be interested to know that the Wikipedia:Guide to deletion explicitly recognizes "Delete then Redirect", stating "Redirect is a recommendation to keep the article's history but to blank the content and replace it with a redirect. Users who want to see the article's history destroyed should explicitly recommend Delete then Redirect." The Guide has incorporated such guidance regarding "Delete then Redirect" since September 2005; before that, it previously included the concept of "Delete and then re-create as Redirect". Anyone who is suggesting that "Delete and redirect" !votes and outcomes are either improper or unheard does not know our well-established AfD procedures. Moreover, anyone who suggests that there is a built-in policy preference for keeping and/or restoring article history after a consensus "delete" or "delete and redirect" AfD outcome needs to do some more reading; nowhere in either WP:Deletion policy or WP:Editing policy is such a preference for the preservation of article history (as opposed to article content -- not the same thing) actually stated. The Guide to Deletion recognizes the distinction recognizes the distinction between history and content, and the validity of an !vote to delete the history. Dirtlawyer1 (talk) 06:40, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Noted. I myself never actually opposed the use of "delete and redirect", but I have made this change to clarify matters. Eman235/talk 07:46, 1 December 2015 (UTC)

Referencing

Hello Eman 235,

In reference 1 on this page, I found a bad link.

Here's the page:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lion-man

Here's the bad link:

References[edit] Jump up ^ Martin Bailey Ice Age Lion Man is world’s earliest figurative sculpture The Art Newspaper, Jan 31, 2013, accessed Feb 01, 2013

I found the article in question. Here is the good link:

http://old.theartnewspaper.com/articles/Ice-Age-Lion-Man-is-worlds-earliest-figurative-sculpture/28595

I went to update the bad link, but only found this:

==References==

{{reflist}}

I don't know how to go into {{reflist}}.

Please fix it for me, or let me know how. Or both.

Kelly Kellygerling (talk) 03:32, 19 December 2015 (UTC)

See Help:Footnotes -- all you have to do is find where the reference is in the article (in the beginning of the article, where you see [1]) and update the link. Eman235/talk 17:41, 19 December 2015 (UTC)
Kellygerling -- I have fixed it for you. See this edit. Eman235/talk 12:20, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

American Broadcasting Company RfC

I reformatted the RfC on American Broadcasting Company by making a Threaded discussion section. I went ahead and moved your comment under the new heading. Just wanted to let your know. Hope this isn't an issue. Meatsgains (talk) 03:29, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

Meatsgains, that's fine. Don't you think it should be a level 3 heading though? Eman235/talk 03:40, 23 December 2015 (UTC)
Good call, my mistake. [1]. Meatsgains (talk) 03:42, 23 December 2015 (UTC)

New word "artToys" for new invention toys

Dear Eman,

Happy New Year!

Thanks for your contribution on editting works.

Might it be acceptable that new word "artToys" for newly invented toys? We are used to old things we are familiar with, shall we try to accept new word "artToys"?

Regards, EduToys 11:46, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi, and happy New Year to you as well. I don't think accepting new words is an issue here; for one thing, Wikipedia isn't for neologisms, and for another, the article was about a company that didn't seem to meet the relevant notability guideline. The deletion log says it was deleted for advertising, which is mentioned in the two pages I linked. Eman235/talk 12:14, 3 January 2016 (UTC)
