Welcome!

Hello, Eloisebert, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Callalilly, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on this page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  ttonyb (talk) 05:07, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Callalilly has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable lacking GHits and GNEWS of substance. Appears to fail WP:NOTFILM.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ttonyb (talk) 05:07, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Christy Kane

[edit]

The way to give permission to use material is described at WP:Donating copyrighted materials, but as I said on the talk page of MissLadee (talk) who posted it:

...even if the copyright issue were resolved, the promotional tone of a company or personal website is likely to be unsuitable for an encyclopedia article, which requires a neutral point of view. Article subjects need to have notability, which is not a matter of opinion but has to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." There is more detail at WP:Notability (people), and good advice on how to write an acceptable article at WP:Your first article.

Wikipedia is not just another website for people to post their standard bio. It is an encyclopedia, which is quite different. WP:Neutral point of view is a basic policy. One of the reasons why WP:Autobiography is strongly discouraged is that it is hard for people to write neutrally about themselves. Phrases like "the imaginary, wonderful world of her muses... enchanting artwork... perfect for children... " are puffery, PR-speak, and that page would be speedily deleted as an advertisement even if it were not copyright. An encyclopedia article should be a plain, factual description, with what it says confirmed by reliable sources

See User:JohnCD/Not a noticeboard for more explanation.

If you are editing on behalf of Christy Kane you have, from our point of view, a WP:Conflict of interest and should observe the restrictions in WP:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest - in essence, don't post articles or make changes yourself, but propose them and let uninvolved users decide. Also, if you are the same person as Mr. EM Small (talk) and/or MissLadee (talk), who have both posted about Christy Kane recently, please choose one account and stick to it, to avoid any suspicion of "sockpuppetry".
