[edit] Thanks for contributing to the article Inclusion body myositis. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Sam Kuru (talk) 12:44, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Note, this inlcudes the mirrors you added here (prmidi),here (chemeurope), and here (bionity). If a source indicates it was copied from here, please do not use it. Sam Kuru (talk) 12:44, 28 October 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing this out! I will check this and find references that are not mirrored. Ellenello (talk) 09:28, 30 October 2022 (UTC)
- I really really really appreciate your efforts to add inline citations to articles. For medical articles, we have a (kind of long) page full of advice about how to find the best sources. The basic story, though, is that – when possible – it's better to cite a source that is:
- newer (within the last five years or so)
- either review article or a medical/nursing school textbook
- from a decent publisher/journal (e.g., not a predatory publisher)
- Of course, it can't be done for everything, but that's our ideal.
- On many talk pages, there's a banner with links to PubMed that may be helpful. I know there's one at the top of Talk:Hysterectomy. Look for the box that begins with the words "Ideal sources for Wikipedia's health content" and try clicking those links. I hope this tip will turn out to be efficient for you.
- BTW, if you're looking for a list of articles to work on, then https://bambots.brucemyers.com/cwb/bycat/Medicine2.html#Cites%20no%20sources (very big page) organizes the different problems according to the type of identified need. Alternatively, some people like to start with Wikipedia:WikiProject Medicine/Popular pages, since they're the ones that get read the most often.
- Finally, if you have questions or run into problems, there are folks who can help at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine. It's kind of like a noticeboard for anything that interests editors who work on health-related content. Please put the page on your watchlist and say hello some day. Blocked as a sockpuppet
[edit]Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice:
{{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}
. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.
