Copyvio explanation
[edit]Hello,
Some content in the submitted article was copy-pasted from some of the references. According to the edit history comments, it was a list of names with titles. As it is a violation of copyright to have these included in the encyclopedia, the offending portions have been removed by an administrator, and the revision history has been deleted in order to remove all offending content from Wikipedia servers. As such, the article as it now stands does not include, as far as I can tell, any content in violation of copyright. If you believe that the article as it stands does not contain content in violation of copyright, feel free to resubmit and drop me a word on my talk page if you decide to do so, and I'll try to review it promptly. (It may, however, be reviewed by someone else in the mean time) Acebulf (talk) 18:36, 19 April 2018 (UTC)
- From re-reading the article, I now see that the list of names with titles was not the problematic section, and was deemed to be adequate by an administrator. I don't recall exactly which section was problematic, but I can distinctly remember the content being a character-for-character (ie. copy-paste) from one of the websites listed as a source in the article. [edit]Hi! I wanted to let you know I've placed a conflict of interest declaration at Talk:Africa_Group_for_Justice_and_Accountability since presumably you're the project manager of The Wayamo Foundation. I suggest also placing one on your user page. Let me know if you need help with how to do that. Do be careful when editing articles you're closely connected with (most of the time, you probably should avoid it). Cheers, Basie (talk) 03:07, 13 June 2018 (UTC)
Declaring COI
[edit]Hello Basie, thanks for your feedback and comments. I think I will need help on how to place a conflict of interest declaration on my page, how should I proceed? About the AGJA article, edits should now come from other users is that correct? And I can only suggest them on this page right?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Africa_Group_for_Justice_and_Accountability. Again, thank you for your patience and constructive feedback! Elise.carreau (talk) 13:17, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
- You're welcome, and thank you for engaging with us (it's not unusual for involved people to simply ignore attempts at dialogue!) Yes, that's the talk page to use for requested edits. To place a declaration on your talk page, click this link, copy paste the following text, and hit Publish changes (you can preview first if you like):
{{UserboxCOI|1=Africa Group for Justice and Accountability}}
- That should do the trick. I will probably see any changes on the AGJA talk page and can respond to inquiries there, or just ask again here if you get stuck.
- I should emphasize, none of this is considered punitive in any way! It's simply saying to other editors, "Hey, I might have a hard time being impartial because this is a project I care about". I completely understand your wanting to spread the word about what looks like very important work. Cheers, Basie (talk) 20:56, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
