[edit]No worries mate. I'm just not happy with the idea of compounding together an article on a person and an article on an archaeological site as these seem to me to be two very different types of article. Would maybe suggest merging the tomb article into the article on Yinxu instead? What do you think?
As for the sources well I think the material from Washington Uni, British Museum and National Gallery should be considered scholarly enough, the other two I admit are a bit dodgy but I've only used them to confirm widely spread information and I'll try to find a more acceptable source. Luxury Cars
[edit]It seems like your statement is the weasel. Unless you can point out a single successful asian brand in Ultra-Lux, this statement goes back. Asian brands are not accepted by Caucasians even in high-end and middle end easily. Lexus is the only successful asian brand to date. Look at Infiniti sales, it will be very revealing to you. The flasgship Q45 sells may be thousand cars a year if that. Also Lexus is successful because its prodcucts are superior to germans by a wide wide margin. Massive! So as you see in Europe, no caucasian drives EVEN Lexus. Their sales are pathetic. Samstayton 07:48, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
- If you could support all of those claims, then feel free to include them. Without citation, though, it's just opinion. I've reviewed your talk page and the talk page for that article and, frankly, I'd rather have nothing to do with people swaggering around arguing about which car is better. [edit]It is now part of Basrah, which is on the banks of the Euphrates River. Random! Rayana fazli 20:17, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
I am talking about the province in Iraq. It isn't very large. I know the story behind the city of al-Uballah but for where it might be and more informaiton about it, I think you will be hard-pressed to find a lot about it. It is mostly known for a famous story about the son of the governor of al-Uballah and his contributions to Islam. Rayana fazli 18:40, 15 February 2006 (UTC)

Are those counties listed in any particular order? They're not north/south, south/north, alphabetical, by population. I can't figure out the order. User:Zoe|(talk) 22:42, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
BTW, I'll probably be a regular participant. If you look at [1], you'll see I created the California Central Valley article back in the early days of Wikipedia. I was also responsible for the initial edits of most of the California county articles. :) User:Zoe|(talk) 22:44, 7 March 2006 (UTC)

I am leaving you this message because you haven't edited what I wrote for Techne, so I assume you haven't read it. I figure, if there is anything wrong with what I wrote, you'd be the first person to correct it... and I know there has to be at least one thing wrong with what I wrote. Rayana fazli 23:30, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
I didn't do the work because I wanted anything in return. Remember the whole thing I said about expectations and how they just let people down? That'd be pretty dumb of me to do anything in expectation of a reward. Rayana fazli 15:29, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
I'm going to archive that request for investigation now, as I'm not sure much more can be done (like you say I don't know of any way to automatically watch a range of IPs). The best thing to do might be to add the relevant articles to your personal watchlist and check for bad edits that way. Feel free to get back to me if you have any questions. Order of the Iron Crown
[edit]My interest is in circulated coins which is part of the numismatics project. I've been trying to help organize the numismatics articles, and got lost with exonumia. Most of the current Numismatics WikiProject members are not too interested in exonumia, so I didn't get much help there. Category:Orders and decorations is in Category:Exonumia which is in Category:Numismatics. So, my understanding was that orders were a form of exonumia (which I know next to nothing about). Are you saying that this is incorrect? Do you know? Thanks. Ingrid 01:26, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- As far as I know, there was no medallion associated with the OIC. The problem, I think, is in categorizing Orders with Decorations, as the numistmatists are only, assumably, interested in the associated medals that come with an order and not the order itself, so that an order without medals is not something attractive to an exonumistamtist. I think... Elijahmeeks 10:04, 20 April 2006 (UTC)

- You disagreed with every change that I made?? That seems rather heavy-handed, as I explained my position on the talk page. I'd prefer if we could figure this out, rather than just perform blanket reverts. Please revert the page back and make changes or explain to me with particular sections that you disagree with. Breasts in the Quran
[edit]Ref: It wasnt vandalism, I added it there. You've read the verses, right? I'm assuming you know what Kawaib and voluptious means. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 01:43, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- High-bosomed = big breasts. See google. And if you know arabic, it says "وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتۡرَابً۬ا ". Kawaib means "swollen breasts". If you want to use voluptious, we can use that, however I will try to find a reliable source that ascertains the real meanings of the verse which I understand might embarrass some people. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 04:31, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
hi Elijahmeeks, just so you know, Matt57 appears to be categorically wrong by asserting that "Kawaib means "swollen breasts"", as i have shown here. i don't know how he deduced that, or how he could be in a position to deduce that and declare it so confidently. it just goes to show what happens when you don't use appropriate sources. the usc.edu/MSA website also seems faulty here. ITAQALLAH 01:56, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
- ItaqAllah, its not faulty, its accurate. I will try to find secondary sources for the swollen breasts or equivalent claim. In any case. voluptous will work just fine. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 13:20, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for stirring up the debate about Hussam Abdo. I found out he has appeared in the movie, Suicide Killers, an article I just created after finding this out. This makes Hussam even more notable. - It didnt seem like to me at all that you'd like the FSG (if you do, please put that userbox on your page too), but anyway, I look forward to editing articles with you. And oh, tell you what, if you really did love the FSM, you would never question the notability of Hussam Abdo. I can see clearly through all this. Our edits show where our loyalty is. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 23:06, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
- Well if you really like the FSM, show me some edits of yours that reflect that. The edits I've seen showed me otherwise. If you're with me, then it would be nice if you could create one or two articles in this list. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 03:17, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Please carry on with your edits and we'll meet each other here and there. Houri has too many quotations. See if you can clean it up. Dont get rid of the 72 virgins hadith though. That one is unique to the article obviously. --Matt57 (talk•contribs) 14:53, 29 April 2007 (UTC)

Hasan ibn Ali
[edit]Your material on al-Hasan is quite obviously bias. Your "the divorcer" addition to the article is just plain offensive and out of place. I wish you to stop vandalising wikipedia with such slander. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sikandros (talk • contribs) 18:15, 6 September 2007 (UTC)
I added in a comment regarding the issue of Hasan's wives. Although there is no problem with you writing that he may have had that many wives, the way you are doing in that sentence is as though it is a statement of fact, especially without clearly saying whose view it is you are publishing. The accusation made is a serious one and therefore requires a serious response and not a casual dismissal just because the orientalist from Yale is of a particular opinion.
And although you add that Madelung has dismissed this is as slander, do not include it within the main body of the text, which is misleading, and does not directly explain the reason for this dismissal. Please allow me to include that the claim is nonsensical on certain logical and legal premise? To ignore the references that I quoted and to sideline them makes it even more as though you want to give out your opinion.
At the very least you must allow me to draw a distinction between the Shia view and the view of anyone else otherwise the sentence is very insulting to many people and a distortion because the way it is written does not give a balanced view. I myself am a Syed and a descendent of Hasan-Ibn-Ali and there is public accusation being made against my forefather, I do not care whether the accusation being made is by a scholar or not. I, at the very least, have a right to defend this accusation, I am trying to do so using the arguments of some certain scholars. I do not think you or anyone else has any right to judge these scholars. One online link of the reference/text of the article that I quoted is as follows:
http://www.al-islam.org/al-serat/imamhasan.htm
I am not telling you to remove what you have said, but only allow me to provide a counter argument because a serious slander without a serious statement of defence is not exactly fair play.
A second point and unrelated to the wives issue, the word Imamate is being used in the sentence before and someone has said that Hasan was not interested in Imamah. This makes no sense at all.
Imamate is a Shia doctrine and it is only natural that an explanation of what the Shia mean by Imamate comes from them. And given the doctrinal definition of Imamate according to the Shia, the way the sentence is written makes no sense, and whoever has written that sentence clearly does not understand what Imamah, is be it an Orientalist scholar or not!
So let me as explain: Under the Shia belief about Imamah an Imaam such as Hassan is born an Imaam and deos not "become" an Imaam- so in effect he does not have a choice, at least in this world!
And therefore to write that Hassan gave it up or did not want it, makes little sense, when in fact there was no choice to be made, making the sentence inconsistent with the definition and therefore also Slanderous and misleading. Unless you are trying to telling me what my own beliefs are!
I do not think I am being unreasonable in what I ask you, especially if I am giving you scholarly references. If you refuse to allow me to make some of these changes I will have to complain to Wikipedia, assuming it comes across as though you are being deliberately biased and insulting to the beliefs of a large number of people by passing off an accusation as a fact! —Preceding unsigned comment added by MusaNaqvi (talk • contribs) 01:47, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:ECAI-Dynamic-Map-Selection.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ECAI-Dynamic-Map-Selection.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Chris B • talk 11:35, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ECAI-Dynamic-Map-Selection.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:ECAI-Dynamic-Map-Selection.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 04:58, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:Uos-khmer-map.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Uos-khmer-map.png. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Rettetast (talk) 21:21, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Vos-theater-map.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Vos-theater-map.png. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. File permission problem with File:Ekbalam-site-reverse.png
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Ekbalam-site-reverse.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. Speedy deletion nomination of Gephi
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Gephi, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. noq (talk) 01:00, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi Elijah, you've apparently contributed a lot of well-written stuff to Gudea. Perhaps overly harshly, I've recently deleted some well written stuff, that might or might not be yours, do to lack of citations. I called the stuff "glib" in my anger. The writing i deleted might be true, i don't know. To understand my anger, you have to know the Kish article, that used to have well written lies in it. It makes me paranoid that other uncited ancient history pages might be similar. So I apologize if I removed writing that you put a lot of hard work into.Rich (talk) 23:27, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
