Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in List of forest research institutes, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thanks for your efforts to improve the above-referenced article. As you make further improvements to this article, please help maintain the alphabetical order of the entries in each section. Much appreciated... DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 18:49, 24 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm DASonnenfeld. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to List of forest research institutes because it appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Again, please help maintain the encyclopedic character of this article. Wikipedia is not about placing one's own institution first... Thank you. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 10:13, 25 July 2014 (UTC) P.S. You may find it helpful to review Wikipedia's guidelines related to conflict of interest.[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited AFRI Model Nursery, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Nursery and Agricultural wastes. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

CFD nomination

[edit]

I placed a comment on the latest CFD page. That was not the correct place. When you found the CFD notice on your category, you should have clicked the link in the notice, which would have taken you to the right page, so that your important contribution would be attached to the appropriate discussion. The problem with the name you chose is that the abbreviation is meaningless to most of the rest of the world. Accordingly we prefer abbreviations to be expanded. Please go to that page and comment on my alternative suggestion, which I think you will think more acceptable. I may add that the number of articles seems to have grown since I first looked and it may be that there was only one or two when the nomination was made. PLease also learn to sign your contrinutions to talk pages with ~~~~, which converts to your name and a date. I presume you are a new editor and have yet to learn how WP works. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 09:45, 2 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Designmate India Pvt Ltd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.  SAMI  talk 05:02, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

ARBIPA notification

This message contains important information about an administrative situation on Wikipedia. It does not imply any misconduct regarding your own contributions to date.

Please carefully read this information:

The Arbitration Committee has authorised discretionary sanctions to be used for pages regarding India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic which you have edited. The Committee's decision is here.

Discretionary sanctions is a system of conduct regulation designed to minimize disruption to controversial topics. This means uninvolved administrators can impose sanctions for edits relating to the topic that do not adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, our standards of behavior, or relevant policies. Administrators may impose sanctions such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks. This message is to notify you sanctions are authorised for the topic you are editing. Before continuing to edit this topic, please familiarise yourself with the discretionary sanctions system. Don't hesitate to contact me or another editor if you have any questions.

Please read and follow all the Wikipedia policies that you are referred to. Failure to do so may invite sanctions. Thanks, Kautilya3 (talk) 13:08, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be engaged in an edit war with one or more editors according to your reverts at Jawaharlal Nehru. Although repeatedly reverting or undoing another editor's contributions may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, and often creates animosity between editors. Instead of edit warring, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose editing privileges. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a loss of editing privileges.

I realise you have only re-instated your version once, but it may be that you are unaware of the risks and will find this warning helpful. The essay BOLD, revert, discuss cycle gives good advice on how you can proceed if you are fully confident in your edits. In this case, I suggest you first review Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. NebY (talk) 13:26, 24 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
