Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Submarine hull, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Catalan. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Ramón Mercader may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • Ramon Mercader died in Havana in 1978. He is buried under the name "Ramon Ivanovich Lopez" (Рамон Иванович Лопесin) Moscow's [[Kuntsevo Cemetery]].<ref>{{Find a Grave|8249680|Ramon Mercader}}</

Your contributed article, Bossa de tela

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Bossa de tela. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Tote bag. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Tote bag. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Captain Calm (talk) 14:08, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia

[edit]

Smile emoji Hi EMBViki! Thank you for your edits to Après moi, le déluge. It looks like you've copied or moved text from Louis XV into that page, and while you are welcome to re-use the content, Wikipedia's licensing requires that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. If you've copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thanks! DanCherek (talk) 18:18, 25 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:ConventionClusterMunitionCountries-2022.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ConventionClusterMunitionCountries-2022.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Help on Talk:Catalonia (lead)

[edit]

Please help to mantain the lead about Catalonia as a historical European nation in talk page. It is a current discussion. El Caganer (talk) 11:29, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How could I do that, exactly? BCNViki (talk) 14:06, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think the edits you made specifying that Catalonia is a historical European nation should be kept in the main definition of Catalonia. There are some users who don't want it. Please write your opinion in Talk:Catalonia#Lead to help me keep your edits. El Caganer (talk) 18:02, 27 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification about canvassing

[edit]

Hi BCNViki. I noticed this comment of yours at the discussion at Talk:Catalonia, where you clearly took offense at two other editors stating that you were WP:CANVASSED to the discussion. I just wanted to let you know that this is in no way a criticism of you, it is a criticism of the editor who canvassed you (User:El Caganer; now indefinitely blocked).

The truth is, you were canvassed, but all that means is, that someone informed you about an ongoing conversation where a dispute was taking place, and thought you would support their opinion. That is against Wikipedia policy, because it is like putting your finger on the scales. You did nothing wrong by responding (although an experienced editor would probably not have responded, or else have announced at the discussion that they were canvassed) and the two editors who pointed out that you were canvassed did the right thing by noting it. It is fine to notify editors about discussions, but this is normally done in groups (like via WP:WikiProjects) and not by picking out individual editors who might agree with you and asking them for help. The reason canvassing is problematic, is that Wikipedia makes decisions in content disputes by means of WP:CONSENSUS, and canvassing editors with known or likely known opinions corrupts the possibility of achieving a fair consensus among unbiased editors. Does this make sense? I hope this helps. Mathglot (talk) 04:29, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mathglot, thank you very much for your comments. My complain was not so much about being identified as canvassed (which as you say I was), but to be presumed to replicate orders, which i definitely didn't. Anyway, I don't want to waste anyone else's time, nor mine, in this issue, and I stop here. A "more experienced editor", as you put it, would have known better, and through this incident I'm improving. But it remains true that anything related to Catalonia in Wikipedia is policed to a fastidious and alarming degree by watchdogs that can't stand any narrative that departs from their playbook.
Thanks again. BCNViki (talk) 08:51, 30 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Classical Gas. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Was correct, see WP:THEBAND - FlightTime (open channel) 13:06, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I’m sorry I didn’t double check the Manual of Style in this respect. But I also think your reaction is way too aggressive regarding my minimal change, which certainly doesn’t qualify as “nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand”, as you say, and neither is meant to “deliberately go against it without special reason.”
Thanks for your pointing the issue out, anyway. BCNViki (talk) 20:54, 17 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
