Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, E.poul, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Hello Whpq,
Thank you for all your advice, I have read all your requests carefully. I will start by creating a draft, so that you can tell me what you think.
Have a nice day and thank you again!

Hello Whpq, could you please proofread my contribution?
Thank you a lot,

Hi (@Whpq:),
Sorry I forgot the notification.
Could you please proofread my contribution?
Thank you a lot,
(E.poul (talk) 11:06, 9 March 2023 (UTC))[reply]
Hi. If you want changes to be made to a specific article, you should post an edit request on the talk page of the article. An interested editor will review the request and take the appropriate action. If you are creating a new article, you should make use of Articles for Creation (AFC) to submit a draft for review. An AFC reviewer will evaluate the draft and provide feedback or accept the request. You must also ensure you comply with Wikipedia's paid editing policy. I will not be proofreading your contributions, but using the processes mentioned will get some editor to review. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 12:48, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Gender equality

[edit]

Hello, Elise. Thank you for your contribution at Gender equality. I appreciate this contribution, but would like to apply the established Wikipedia norms and guidelines. I advise that a template is created to provide the reference to the relevant collaboration with Unesco (I can do this part) and verify the copyright status of the text. Could you please let me know where can we find more about the collaboration and verify the public domain status? If it is not possible to check this online I suggest that the Unesco permission is submitted via WP:VRT. --TadejM my talk 09:38, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @TadejM, thank you for your message. I'm sorry for the confusion, there is no collaboration. However, UNESCO has decided to adopt an Open Access Policy for its publications, using CC BY-SA 3.0 IGO license (to all UNESCO Publications published from July 31, 2013).
I saw that "Text on Wikipedia is added in one of two ways:
  1. Written by Wikipedia volunteers, using their own words to express the facts and ideas reported in the sources
  2. Copied from an external source whose copyright status is compatible with Wikipedia's license."
And according to Wikipedia, acceptable licenses include CC BY-SA 3.0.
Please let me know if there's a rule I haven't followed. Best, E.poul (talk) 16:45, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Elise. Thank you for the clarification. This licence is fine for Wikipedia. I have restored the content and will tag it accordingly. --TadejM my talk 17:12, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you TadejM! E.poul (talk) 17:19, 8 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, E.poul. We welcome your contributions but you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia and you have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. ElKevbo (talk) 13:50, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @ElKevbo, my user page shows where I work and what the aims of my editions are.
I'm doing my best to respect the rules of the platform and I would have preferred you to help me improve my edit rather than delete it.
This edit includes important and useful elements for the platform. The work of the international community to promote educational technology is a relevant point. Mentioning open educational resources, recommendations for policy makers and teachers, the 2012 Paris Declaration or an award seems very appropriate for this article.
If you are willing to improve this paragraph with me, I will suggest it on the talk page of the article in question,
Thank you, E.poul (talk) 14:34, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I strongly recommend not adding information about your employer directly to articles but instead making edit requests and suggestions in article Talk pages. ElKevbo (talk) 15:56, 4 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

As previously advised, your edits give the impression you have a financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. You were asked to cease editing until you responded by either stating that you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits, or by complying with the mandatory requirements under the Wikimedia Terms of Use that you disclose your employer, client and affiliation. Again, you can post such a disclosure on your user page at User:E.poul, and the template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=E.poul|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. Please respond before making any other edits to Wikipedia. Cordless Larry (talk) 19:00, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Cordless Larry I've added that I'm paid on my user page. E.poul (talk) 16:05, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Please note that WP:COIPAYDISCLOSE specifies that you're expected to maintain a clearly visible list on your user page of your paid contributions (i.e. a list of articles edited in your UNESCO role) too. Cordless Larry (talk) 16:07, 4 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
understood! E.poul (talk) 09:11, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:37, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
