Image licensing of the image you added to Pashtun people
[edit]Before you add images to articles please read the guidelines for Fair Use. It specifically says that you cannot use a magazine cover in contexts related to the image on the cover but only in contexts dealing with the publication of the image. Please don't include any more magazine covers in the article unless a fair use rationale can be substantiated.·Maunus· ·ƛ· 13:48, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Dwaipayanc,
Thanks for your explanation on the layout of image of Howrah Bridge.
I have one more doubt Sir, how to upload/contribute to Wikipedia Commons? Or to any central repository of Wikipedia pictures/images?

Jagadish Chandra Bose
[edit]This is just a beginning with Jagadish Chandra Bose. I have more to add to other sections of that page. I am also thinking whether I can add a page on Bhagaban Chandra Bose, may be just a stub. Please give me some more time to add information to the page and then you can work on that page. For the present best wishes for your exams - all the luck. -- P.K.Niyogi 06:00, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hey, I was thinking of having a task force, focussing on Dakshin Dinajpur articles, set up. In this regard I am sort of seeking others opinions and who might be interested, so that it can be formalized. What do you think? --soum (0_o) 19:35, 30 March 2007 (UTC)
West Bengal in Google
[edit]Hey, have u noticed that the West Bengal article got no 1 position in Google for the term "West Bengal". Check out this link: http://www.google.com/search?complete=1&hl=en&q=West+Bengal . Best of Luck.Amartyabag TALK2ME 04:36, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Re:PINQ
[edit]Hmmm, for some reason, I totally forgot about it. Well, the next question will be coming shortly ... --Ragib 08:14, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi. Saw your comment on the FAC review page for the Alizée article. It was listed to basically find problems with the article (PR listings did not generate enough criticism). Thanks for pointing out the problem with the lead, which, btw, was already known.
We would also like feedback on a few points. Foremost section naming. We went against the more popular chronological naming of sections. And the second one is not having a separate Awards section (but integrate into Critical response section as a table). What do you think of those? Thanks, in advance. Cheers. --soum (0_o) 10:04, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Changes to the lead section have been incorporated into the article. --soum (0_o) 19:46, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the photo!
[edit]I have been looking long and hard for illustrations for Indian vernacular architecture so I truly appreciate your addition. Thank! Sincerely, Mattisse
- That would be great if you could find more rural or vernacular photos. Most of the photos available are of famous places. It is hard to find photos of regoinal housing styles in different locally-available building materials. Thanks! Sincerely, --Mattisse 18:35, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
I have just put the article to peer review. Would you care to take a look? Aditya Kabir 20:06, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, the article is now at FAC. Please take a look and comment. --Ragib 07:56, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
Images from last year
[edit]Hey, I was shuffling through my collection of images and came across Image:Kalinagar Floods A.JPG and Image:Kalinagar Floods B.JPG - taken at Kalinagar (Bardhaman district) depicting the floods last year. If you are aware of any article that may benefit from these, feel free to add them. --soum (0_o) 20:35, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
India article
[edit]Dear Dwaipayan...Saw some of your opinions in the India main article...am kind of new...but I still feel that the article is written from a British/Western point of view. From an Indian point of view, we always see the UK/PT/FR as foreigners and occupiers. I thus feel that we should adopt another POV in which we denigrate the British view and put more emphasis on the history of India before the British came...so that India is continuous since Indus Valley Civilization and not overnight from 1947...I already had some discussion with users IndianStar, NobleEagle, Chanakyathegreat...and they agree, however, the British writer Fowler always negates all these opinions and puts in the British POV with the guise of Encyclopaedia Britannica references. I thus urge you to refurbish the India main paragraph and remove even the word British and put more emphasis on Indus Valley Civilization...and India's first emperor Ashoka...and maintain the continuity since 5000 years. The British maybe just referred to as foreign occupiers. Basically even the word British is derogatory in the India article... 218.186.8.10 04:34, 1 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Dwaipayan, I have not really delved much on the portal side and to add to that, I am hardly active these days due to some (good) things happening in real life. I think the best people to help out would be Ganesh or Ambuj. Sorry cant help out much :(— Lost(talk) 15:33, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
Rashtrakuta
[edit]Yes, I will reorder the references here and in western chalukya. Got held up with other articles I am currently working on (not titled yet, but on history). I will add more images in a day or two. No shortage of images from Ellora and Elephanta on wiki. I will be visiting the Navalinga temples (9 temples) in Kuknur in Karnataka built by the Rashtrakutas and enhanced by the Western Chalukyas, later this year.Dineshkannambadi 18:59, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

I have done some addtions as an experiment. I have done the news only for 4 April, although there is a red link for 5 April also. Will that link be there tomorrow morning also? I find that the Portal: Current Events has news also for 4 April only. Where does the news go subsequently? I could not find an archive for 2007. Regards. -- P.K.Niyogi 04:16, 5 April 2007 (UTC)

Hi! This is with regard to the date/year linking in the article Jerusalem. Per Dates section in Wikipedia:Only make links that are relevant to the context, standalone years need not be linked, unless relevant to the context. The article has almost all the years linked which IMO increases wikilinks. Yes, some historically significant years need to be linked, but I think the article could do with some less amount of date/year links. That helps easy reading. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:22, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- Feel free to remove links that you feel are unnecessary. Coincidentally, I was just about to notify you that I moved the {{Jerusalem}} template back to the top of the article. Jerusalem, of course, is the main article in the template series. Thus, I thought it would make more sense to keep it in a more prominent location. I kept the template right-aligned (because I had a feeling you preferred that) and moved an image in the History section to the left to accommodate that. -- tariqabjotu 15:26, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, are you aware of Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Jerusalem? -- tariqabjotu 15:28, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
