COTW
[edit]Would you be willing to support my nominee for WP:COTW. The article is Invasion which is an important term for military knowledge. The current article however isn't at the same standard as the term is in modern and historic warfare though. If you'll be willing to support, I'll be greatful. Regarding deleting the Four thousand years of tourism section, I believe the article you specified it was a copyvio of actually copied it from Wikipedia. I compared from the history of the article on Wikipedia and I see the date of buzzle.com article is 7-31-05 or 8/2/05
http://www.buzzle.com/editorials/7-31-2005-73999.asp
Duran 11:15, 2 February 2006 (UTC)
- I noticed that about the date, too, but compare the May 30, 2004 revision of Tourism in Luxor, which is the original source of that text on Wikipedia, and actually contains the byline "By Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis". If buzzle.com were going to plagiarize from us, I hardly think they would copy that line.
- Possibly the buzzle.com article has been "reprinted", and appeared there earlier? Or, perhaps User:194.79.100.109 who originally posted the text here actually is Muhammad Shamsaddin Megalommatis? dbenbenn | talk 16:27, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

WikiProject South Park
[edit]I have thought of creating a WikiProject for South Park since it is now near its' 10th anniversary and has more articles than ever. I feel we could all do the following things through this project:
- Cleanup any short/poorly written/unformatted articles
- Merge/lengthen the many character articles
- Improve the South Park main page
I have seen your South Park fan template and wondered if you were interested in joining. If so reply to my talk page and I'll get back to you as quick as I can. Thanks, Mr. Garrison

Fair use rationale for Image:Powerade_Logo.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Powerade_Logo.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 20:30, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Muhammad Abdul Moneim.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Muhammad Abdul Moneim.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:39, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
