National varieties of English

[edit]

As a new user, you may not be aware of wikipedia's policies in relation to national varieties of English, in particular An article on a topic that has strong ties to a particular English-speaking nation should use the (formal, not colloquial) English of that nation. and When an English variety's consistent usage has been established in an article, maintain it in the absence of consensus to the contrary. With few exceptions (e.g., when a topic has strong national ties or the change reduces ambiguity), there is no valid reason for changing from one acceptable option to another.

The article Law enforcement in Australia clearly has strong ties to Australia & has consistently used Australian English, such as authorised, defence and offence. Please do not alter articles to adopt US spelling such as authorized, defense and offense. --Find bruce (talk) 00:25, 20 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking

[edit]

Please review WP:OVERLINK regarding mundane/common page links. GiantSnowman 08:07, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not remove red links when they refer to notable subjects as per WP:REDYES. With regards to the 1929 European Rowing Championships, the links that you removed are certainly of notable subjects. Both have articles in the Polish Wikipedia, and the suburb also has an entry in the German Wikipedia. Schwede66 23:57, 15 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Noted thanks for informing me I will make sure that won't happen again Dumbo-buzo (talk) 17:35, 16 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Yaacov Heller, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
