Welcome!
[edit]Welcome!
Hello, DrVickie, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that you are fairly new! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. I also see that some of your recent edits show an interest in the use of images and/or photos on Wikipedia.
Did you know that ...
- ...Wikipedia has a very stringent image use policy?
- ...most images from Flickr, online news websites, and other web sources are copyrighted?
- ...Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously?
- ...freely-licensed images should be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, a central location for images where they can be used on all Wikipedia projects?
- ...we recommend that new users use our "files for upload" process – at least until you get the hang of things?
If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}}
on your talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Steps
[edit]- Create a draft using WP:YFA See also WP:BIO
- If you have a personal or paid connection to the person, read WP:COI and WP:PAID, and declare accordingly on your User page the nature of your connection.
- Incorporate references for all content about the person. What the person has written (books, books made into movies) should be included, but do not contribute toward establishing notability in the Wikipedia sense of the word. Need to find and ref published content about the person.
- You can copy content and references from Charles Sellier as long as you acknowledge the source in your Edit summary
- Don't bother with a photo until after the draft is accepted.
- Understand that this is a hard task for new-to-Wikipedia editors, and your attempt is likely to be Declined, requiring significant improvement before resubmitting. David notMD (talk) 08:29, 27 June 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you so very much for your message. I really need help to get my late partner, David Balsiger, on Wikipedia. I’m surprised someone didn’t do it many years ago. When his business partner Charles Sellier died in 2011, his page was up within a month or so. Anyway, I’m elderly and disabled, and don’t have the technical skills to do what seems to be required. I can provide all the content, photos, references, etc. if you or someone can give me a template in which to put them. I appreciate any assistance you can provide. In the meantime, here's a link to what I created for him shortly after he died. www.hourforpeace.org/BalsigerObit.pdf . I've been the coordinator of the International Hour For Peace in Northern Colorado since 2006. Regarding copyright, etc., David's will left his Legacy to me and a Judge's order confirmed it. So I have the legal authority to use any of his photos, books, information, etc. in whatever way I deem appropriate. 2601:283:8401:3510:44FA:491:E39C:6C77 (talk) 02:16, 28 June 2022 (UTC)
