- Hi DoubleGrazing,
- Thank you for reviewing my page. I'm a first time page-creator and am trying to successfully work through the complicated process.
- I'm wondering: is the fix here as simple as rewriting the text taken from the SDLuckett website? And/or how is it possible to use the copied text as I have explicit permission from the subject of the page, Dr. Luckett?
- Thank you in advance for your help,

- Hi,
- It's not enough for the copyright owner to give you a permission to use it, they must release it into the public domain under a compatible (Creative Commons) licence, so that anyone in the world can use it for whatever they want. If that's what you and the copyright owner want, then you can find advice on this at WP:Donating copyrighted materials.
- However, in practice it's much easier to just recreate the content in your own words, as you suggest yourself.
- On a different matter, what is your relationship with the subject? I ask because you say you've obtained permission to use the content. I will post a message below regarding conflicts of interest (COI), and how to manage them. Please read and action as relevant.
- Best, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 19:31, 8 March 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, DrJsStph. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. DoubleGrazing (talk) 19:32, 8 March 2024 (UTC)
