If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Thewomanfrombefore/Caroline O'Hara requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 19:20, 9 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

[edit]

Hi, I'm quite new to Wikipedia and find it very confusing to use! I really admire those of you who use it well as Wikipedia is a well used source for general information!

Right, I joined Wikipedia to edit a page for my friend : Caroline O'Hara, who is an actress. An article had been created about her, however it was poorly written and quite embarrassing for her. I've managed to edit some of the information however I can't seem to edit the title. Instead of just her name it has the User's name as the article heading! How do I rectify this?

Kind Regards.

Hello Douggie89, welcome to Wikipedia! I believe what you are trying to do is move a page. For counter-vandalism reasons, the ability to move pages is restricted to autoconfirmed users. Once a registered account has made 10 edits and has been active for some small period of time, their account automatically becomes autoconfirmed. I see that you have made eight edits, so with two more your account will likely reach autoconfirmed status.
I assume the article you are writing is at User:Thewomanfrombefore/Caroline O'Hara. I noticed that there are no sources... you should address this issue before attempting to move the page to the mainspace. Since this will be a biography on a living person, good sourcing is especially important, otherwise the article will likely be deleted. See WP:REFBEGIN on how to add sources. Let me know if you need anymore help! — MusikAnimal talk 16:04, 8 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
