Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Dotun55, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Rachel Ikemeh, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.
Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. The article Rachel Ikemeh has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. EN-Jungwon 14:30, 6 June 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. My apologies if the new page doesn't meet given standards. I am still finding my way around doing proper referencing.
And please is there anything else I could do to reverse this proposed deletion?

Rachel Ikemeh moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Rachel Ikemeh, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) There is also a potential WP:COI or WP:UPE question. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, and have addressed the UPE/COI issue, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Speedy deletion nomination of Linus Unah
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Linus Unah requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. GILO A&E⇑ 16:21, 4 August 2021 (UTC)

The page Draft:Linus Unah has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://journalism.berkeley.edu/person/linus-unah/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. Speedy deletion nomination of SustyVibes
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on SustyVibes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

[edit]Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use, as you did at Jennifer Olachi Uchendu. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:
- Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
- State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
- Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Request reason:
Hi Rosguill. Please, I am in no way affiliated to Jennifer Olachi Uchendu, and neither do I have a financial stake in creating an article page for her, or her organization. Also, I am not a paid editor, as I am fully aware that it is against the what Wikipedia stands for.
- For quite a long time now, I have been an active contributor on both Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. I am a wildlife photographer and environmentalist, mostly making light edits and contributing images to compliment article pages.
- Over a year ago, I attended a virtual workshop organized by a Wikimedia Working Group in Nigeria. One of goals of the meeting was to teach volunteers to write articles on personalities. Wikipedia had a shortage of notable and wiki-worthy environmentalists. This is what spurred me to create my first wiki article. If you check my history, I have created pages for Desmond Majekodumni, Rachael Ikemeh, Jennifer Olachi Uchendu and her NGO, Susty Vibes. Linus Unah's page was never approved, and I agreed to the reasons. It got forgotten in the drafts.
- , totally abandoning in drafts to be deleted it.
- I guess it is the frequent edits on Jennifer Olachi's page, or the page looking scripted (submitted article) that makes it come off as a paid gig. This is because I reached out to her for a draft article, which I tried to rewrite to meet encyclopedic standards on Wikipedia.
- is because to be able to write well about Also, I cautioneher d about my position as a volunteer editoard n noon sseeeking financial benefits (I havea mail dating 6 months back to share if you care).
- her T reached out for a draft article,
- tried to edit to Wikipedia encyclopedic standard.
- Rosguill, I hope you reconsider your decision on my ban. I did not, and never will accept payment to contribute on Wikipedia.

Decline reason:
I can believe that you may not be a paid editor, but you do have a conflict of interest and your answers here lead me to conclude that you need to have a better understanding of the conflict of interest policy before you resume editing about people that you have an association with(which includes "reaching out"). I wouldn't have a problem unblocking you to just add images of wildlife if you agreed to refrain from editing about people, but that will be up to the next admin. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 16:52, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
So you have an unpaid conflict of interest since you reached out to the subject of one of your edits. Articles are typically written without any involvement from, or even the knowledge of, the subject. Is Jennifer Uchendu the only subject you have reached out to? 331dot (talk) 12:58, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
Did you reach out to Rachel Ikemeh, since you took this image of her? 331dot (talk) 12:59, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- 'Unpaid Conflict of Interest'. OK, I did not know this. Thanks you!
- Yes, I have only reached out to Jennifer.
- No, I did not reach out to Rachel Ikemeh.
- In the course of my work as a nature/wildlife photographer and videographer, I have encountered personalities and taken photos of them which I would later use, or attempt to use in their article pages. Dotun55 (talk) 13:22, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- Not every comment needs to be an unblock request, subsequent comments should be made without marking them as unblock requests. Please place new comments below prior comments; this may be easier to do by opening the edit window directly(click "edit" in the section header or at the top of this page) instead of using the Reply feature(which is imperfect for several reasons).
- So you took a picture of Rachel Ikemeh without her knowledge? You weren't far from her when you took it, she must have been aware- or you asked her about it in order to know her name. Who was employing you to take these pictures(even if it wasn't Rachel)? 331dot (talk) 13:37, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
Unpaid Conflict of Interest
[edit]OK. I didn't take the photo without her consent. She was fully aware when the photo was taken on a mobile phone and not an actual camera. Like I mentioned earlier, I am a photographer and I understand and respect rights and consent.
I work independently, and get hired as well. My last contribution to Wikipedia is update to image of the 'redline puffer'. A wrong image (P. lineatus) had been on the page until I changed it less than two weeks ago. It cost me to get that image. If you can read up what makes redline puffer 'holy grail of freshwater fish'.
No one employed me to take photos of Rachael. As a photographer, I always capture BTS (Behind The Scenes) and casual moments with my phone. They later come in handy for several uses - time stamps, unofficial use, etc.
On this occasion, I was assisting on a filming project at a nature reserve she set-up. And she posed for a photo at the signage at the end of the work.
I must say that personalties like her don't come by easily, because they are very private but do notable work. Never seen her ever since.
I must say that personalities like this are not easy to come by, as they are very private. Dotun55 (talk) 14:09, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- I agree to refrain from editing or creating articles of people, because it would most likely not be possible without it constituting an unpaid conflict of interest.
- Henceforth, I will stick to contributing my images to compliment older Wikipedia articles. Dotun55 (talk) 19:17, 14 February 2024 (UTC)
- Please make a new unblock request for someone else to review. 331dot (talk) 00:14, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- It is entirely possible to write an article about a person without consulting them- I did so at Rodney Garcia. Never met the man, never communicated with him- the vast majority of editors don't communicate with the subjects of their editing. 331dot (talk) 00:17, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
