The work of deleting IP vandalism on chem element pages
Since you're involved, I wonder if you'd like to comment on this discussion on semi-protection for element articles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Elements Thanks! SBHarris 00:05, 10 March 2009 (UTC)
Vandalism in Pacific Islander by 72.207.81.242
The user with that I.P. address continues to remove the Philippines from the excluded list. That person also continues to add Filipinos to the list of the Pacific Island people. I think it would be good to bring this to your attention as that user needs to be punished. (PinoyFilAmPride (talk) 07:53, 12 October 2009 (UTC))

Anismus
An editor has posted at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Medicine asking for a review of his/her editing of Anismus, which you reverted. I am not a medical expert, but the editor's contribution looks OK to me, and you gave no reason for reverting. Do you have a good reason? If so perhaps you could explain it on the article's talk page. JamesBWatson (talk) 16:16, 14 August 2010 (UTC)
- Docboat has reverted Docboat's revert.
Patrol
Docboat, I have a suggestion for you. I see your contributions are mostly page patrolling, and I think you see yourself as fighting vandals and vandalism. However, most of the content you revert is not vandalism. It is the work of new editors. Do not bite new editors means help them. Often it is far more helpful to show rather than tell how something should be done, and by showing rather than telling them you would be making a far more direct contribution to Wikipedia.
As an example, consider not only Anismus where you disrupted my work, but also William Frederick James Harvey. There, IP 95.146.200.83 was hard at work improving the article when you reverted their work. You disrupted that editor's work with no explanation. You helped neither the editor nor Wikipedia. Will that editor ever return? Given treatment such as you gave, many do not. Yes, there were problems; focus on fixing the problems.
Your assignment agent Docboat, if you choose to accept it, is to help IP 95.146.200.83 improve William Frederick James Harvey. Fix their formatting mistakes. Find reliable sources for new information that needs to be sourced. Ask whether the IP's own sources are held privately or are in an archive where anyone can examine them. If privately held, ask the IP to consider donating scans of the sources to Wikimedia Commons. 66.167.43.31 (talk)
- You might also want to request your rollback permission be revoked; see Wikipedia:Requests for permissions#Removal of permissions. 66.167.43.31 (talk)
- Eh, I went ahead and made the request myself. Hope I did it correctly. Here follows the template they suggest to use: Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. I am not mad at you; I just feel very strongly about WP:DONTBITE, and I wish that along with permissions editors also received more training in how to use their time here in the most constructive way. 66.167.43.31 (talk) 17:19, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Need assistance regarding a user who continues to troll Cung Le articles
Hi, I just wanted to know if you can help edit or help me contact someone regarding a specific user who refuses to acknowledge any proof that I have provided regarding a recent error by the UFC.
The specific user in question is Glock17gen4. His only evidence is a picture based on a mistake by UFC production, where MMA fighter Cung Le has already responded that he did not know about, yet Glock17gen4 refuses to accept that and continues to revert Cung Le's Nationality as a current Vietnamese national.
I have provided significant proof in both discussions at the UFC 139 and Cung Le's articles. Please take a look. Cung Le has acknowledged both his American nationality and his Vietnamese heritage (especially with the 3 striples flag which represents the fallen Saigon). I hope you can help. Both his website at CungLe.com and UFC.com profile describe him as a Vietnamese-American and he quoted as calling himself an American Wushu champion. Glock17gen4 seems to not understand the differences between Nationality and Ethnicity. He continues to only use that one picture as his proof. PinoyFilAmPride (talk) 23:20, 22 November 2011 (UTC)
- I am assessing the situation.—cyberpower (Talk to Me)(Contributions) 00:35, 23 November 2011 (UTC)
- Cyberpower, I respect your decision. However, with all due respect, I would like further assistance from other admistrators including Docboat to view the evidence presented. The source of the co-worker your provided was through a Facebook page, and looking at his language I find it very suspicious that he would be working in behalf of Cung Le.
- Here is the user in question: redacted. He lists this as part of his work and education: http://www.rp.edu.sg/. And here it the actual Facebook conversation that I assume between Cyberpower and the supposed "co-worker" had - redacted. Cyberpower, can you please provide evidence that he actually works for Cung Le and how does know specifically which passport does Cung Le hold? I have sent an e-mail to Cung Le's website. But wouldn't it make sense first to have that co-worker verified, before we use his information as a source because Wikipedia even needs a citation/source on where you obtained that information. Is a Facebook user, who only claims to be a co-worker, enough of a source? This is something that I think is reasonable to ask and think about before we can conclude that he is a reliable source. Meet-up: Editors from Malaysia
Hello! You might or might not have seen me around here as I've not been active in Wikipedia the past few months. Before leaving for NS, it was my intention to form a Malaysian user group. I'm still very much interested in forming the group. However, before forming the group, I would love to organize a meet-up between editors of the Malaysian editing community to test the waters and hear what you guys might have to say. To my knowledge, there has not been a Wikipedia meet-up in this country before. I don't mind organizing the meet-up but need to know if anyone is interested in joining the meet-up. So... please reply and let me know if you would be interested in joining a meet-up and your ideas/thoughts about a user group. Thank you.
Looking forward to hearing from you, Bejinhantalks 12:30, 15 December 2012 (UTC) (Message delivered by EdwardsBot (talk) 12:30, 15 December 2012 (UTC))

You can also leave any suggestions or comments on that page. Please RVSP and hope to "meet" you there! Bejinhan talks 14:19, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
Cung Le's Wikipedia page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cung_Le
Hello Docboat, I'm leaving this message to seek assistance from you to see if there can a protection to Cung Le's wikipedia page. It seems that random IP addresses continue to revert his page to change his Ethnicity and Nationality to strictly just Vietnamese. I have provided many sources that label him as either a Vietnamese-American or a South Vietnam-born American, meaning he is currently an American that happened to be born in South Vietnam. In the talk page, a Mod had stated that he is indeed in fact an American based on all the sources. However, he's already retired. Let me know what you can do or who I need to contact for further assistance in protecting his page. PinoyFilAmPride (talk) 20:46, 3 March 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
