Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Alexf(talk) 00:00, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I have reviewed the username policy and Wikipedia advertising and promotions page. My article was in breach of both which was down to negligence. I now understand that the Username was a "promotional username" as it represented the body in which I was writing about and how I was engaging in promotional edits, and behaviours, in my own user space and pertaining to the article about the group I represented. I would like to formally apologise to the wiki team, request a username change and recall my page. In the decision of my unban, I will strive to make valuable contributions to the Wikipedia community, performing flagged edits and properly educating myself in the production of articles. Separate of this I will also make a contribution as I now understand the importance of moderation on the platform. I do hope my unban is considered, I am very much new to platform and have been enjoying learning how to edit and use the site. All the best, and apologies for any inconvenience I have caused. Please include a decline or accept reason.

I think you are, but I will ask- are you agreeing to refrain from editing about your band(at least for now)? Any particular topics you might edit about? 331dot (talk) 14:56, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi 331dot. That is correct. I have a strong knowledge/passion for music, in particular, British rock. I would definitely be interested in editing some articles relating to that topic, I do believe I can be a value add and contribute to the community positively. What is the nature of your relationship with the band? 331dot (talk) 16:30, 7 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
