The problem with the article is that it had no references to reliable third party sources that prove the subject is notable. To have an article on the subject, you would need to present books or newspaper articles about it that prove its notability. - SimonP (talk) 14:22, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

The DOORKICK

A tag has been placed on The DOORKICK, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Dear JohnCD, Orangemike, and BradV: I am so confused. I am brand new to Wikipedia. I was right in the middle of creating my article, tried to preview my changes and I received a message saying "my article was deleted while I was editing the article". I was unsure of what just happened. I didn't know that was even possible. I saw a check box that said "retrieve" or something to that effect. So I checked it. I got my article back and was trying to figure out references, footnotes, etc. when I got the same message again. Then I couldn't even finish what I was doing. I was already working with SimonP who told me that my article was deleted because I needed references like a newspaper article. So I was adding those and the patent info like on the POST-IT article. I was only trying to write a similar article to the POST it for the doorkick. I was deleted twice while I was trying to fix my first problem. I wasn't trying to spam/advertise, as I was being accussed of. I promise. I've only been on Wikipedia once before. I'm new at this. I was also trying to figure out how to save the article on a testing page so that I could send it to SimonP for review. I was never able to get to that point because I kept getting deleted. I'm not sure what to do now. I pasted my final attempt of my article below (I'm not sure if this was the version you saw, I know I had several out there): I am just truly just trying to define the doorkick. Please look at the POST IT article, I am trying really hard to do the same thing. please see below:

Conflict of Interest

Wikipedia articles must be written from a neutral point of view, and so people are strongly discouraged from writing about themselves or their own companies, because of the conflict of interest involved. For more advice, read carefully the Business' FAQ, in particular the sections headed:
