[edit]I saw that you declined my db-attack request on this article; I used that tag as the article attempts to disparage a region of Utah. Would you accept a db-nonsense for this article? --A More Perfect Onion (talk) 15:14, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Sorry for the warning of December 1--it makes no sense, and must have been intended for someone else. No wonder I'm intending to take a sabbatical here. JNW (talk) 20:51, 4 December 2008 (UTC)
Attack page
[edit]It was a poorly and quickly written bit of nonsense giving the person's birthdate and such and claiming she'd starred in several porn movies. So, I fgured it may have been some adolescent attack. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 01:38, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
Regarding my additions
[edit]It wasn't vandalism. I contributed kidofdoom (great instrumental band) and Zebra & Giraffe. The latter has a wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zebra_&_Giraffe —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.209.155.59 (talk) 18:32, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Doing your job for you
[edit]Since you obviously did not read the Variations Of Elimination Chambers (Wrestling) article, I will take you through it piece by piece and explain why it is nonsense.
- "First promoted and used in mainstream wrestling, the Elimination Chamber, this art form was created in order to keep the image of mainstream wrestling feeling fresh for fans."
- The Elimination Champer is a match, not an art form. It is only used by the WWE.
- "The proposed match type involved "Two miles of chain", the practise of being involved in an Elimination Chamber would also be quoted by a Texan wrestling commentator as "being involved in five head on car crashes" an obvious over-exaggeration, but one that would go on to be a great comment in relation to the changing style of mainstream wrestling"
- "The Era of Bischoff - An era of creativity that would harness the sheer power of a human's dimwitted imagination. Bischoff would go on to employ up to 2000 steel chairs in one given match involving only 2 competitors, this proved to be a problem as the arena was clouded with low grade aluminium chairs (al-ooh-myn-i-um), furthermore as a result combatants were unable to enter the ring as the chairs would crowd infront of the arena stage front."
- The second sentence is nonsense, while the first refers to a living person as a dimwit.
- "It has been proved by multiple internationally recognised colleges and universities"
- HA HA HA HA HA HA. Seriously?
- "that the proposed chambers made wrestling virtually impossible to watch as the viewer is unable to sustain his/her attention towards the said action. Activation of the 'hardcore' match types provokes serotonin and releases testosterone for the males and also for women (Testosterone can be naturally found in women once the sound of a steel chair hitting a body is emitted)."
- More nonsense.
- Perhaps we should hit you with a steel chair, and see what the result is... You know, get some women and measure their testosterone levels before and after.
- More nonsense.
- "THE VARIATIONS: a) An elimination chamber with a combination of weapons common to wrestling b) Dousing the chamber in oil/kerosine and lighting the fluid in order to convey that "hell on earth" image. (this has proven to be a problem as over 400 wrestlers have received third degree burns to over 99.99% of their bodies, only their professional character remains unscaved. c) "The mother of all chambers" - Seven steel chairs are strapped to limbs, the torso and extremities of the wreslter, if the wrestler decides to remove even one chair, a greco-roman wrestler will whip the wrestler will a large chain of barbed wire followed by a small period of un-consensual sodomy. d) A more streamline version of the chamber also known as "vanilla chambers" simply involve the most harmless of weapons and aids. Weapons include; 5 Female Lions, 25 M65 Hand Held Fragmentation Grenades, 2 Swords, 50 Steel Chairs, 22 Tables, 22 Ladders (this is known as the 1:1/table:ladder ratio, this is kept in professional wreslting to maximise entertainment, studies have shown that 20.5 is the minimum number of tables/ladders) and the final key to the match is 1 member of mainstream wrestling's creative staff. e) The Big Boy - Automatic Machine guns are mounted on the sides of the chamber, there is body armor on the top of the chamber, 99% of wrestlers suffer from serious injury or in minor instances, death after participating in this match."
- The match is only used in WWE, and nothing anywhere similar to any of this has ever been used. Besides, "a greco-roman wrestler will whip the wrestler will a large chain of barbed wire followed by a small period of un-consensual sodomy", "5 Female Lions"? How could you possibly think that that is not nonsense? I realize pro wrestling is cartoonish, but it's not THAT bad.
- "WHY DOES IT WORK? Asked by many philosiphical figures, it is the subject of Dan Brown's newest book - The Chamber Code Answers are still pending"
- HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Oh come on.
- "Liabilities: Wrestling companies hold no responsibility for the injury, sodomy or deaths of wrestlers, staff, referees and fans alike. Referring to the 1996 case of Wrestling vs. Rowe - Rowe claimed that the company (which cannot be named due to copyright) caused the amputation of his legs when he attented the "mother of all chambers" match, in addition he was sodomised. Only one comment was recorded in response by the company "Don't complain to me, because you signed the goddamned contract!!!""
- So much wrong with this. The EC was first used in 2002, so the 1996 case crap is pure BS. And the very fact that it says the match causes sodomy is a dead give away.
In the future, if you're not going to bother reading the article, at least leave it so someone willing to do it can take a look. -- Scorpion0422 17:44, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

- Thanks for your note. Before becoming an admin or offering to help otheres I would suggest gaining greater familiarity with our policies and guidelines. Particularly, you need to be sure to remember to have reliable sources for your information and to make sure it is neutral in tone. Another problem is that you also need to take a less confrontational tone with others-- too forceful and agressive in your edit summaries. My thoughts on requests for adminship can be found atUser:Dlohcierekim/On RfA. I am generally more willing to support requests for RFA than many others. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 01:52, 20 December 2008 (UTC)

Can you please review this and tell us why you felt Andrew Bonds had no indication of notability 02:04, 21 December 2008 (UTC)— Preceding unsigned comment added by Gnevin (talk • contribs) Dlohcierekim 02:12, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- The point of the discussion is that the article doesnt have to meet BIO or any other guideline/policy only assert notabilty can you reply at the discussionGnevin (talk) 02:14, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- The article claimed to have 15,000 listeners , thus it has claimed some level of being notable, thus A7 can not apply Gnevin (talk) 02:20, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- It's an assertion of notability thus passes A7, A7 does not allow you to make calls on what's notable and what's not Gnevin (talk) 02:27, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- There is no need to restore as I don't feel it would stand a WP:Snow chance on passing. I'm not trying to pick on you in particular ,rather just highlighting how A7 is being using far outside the scope for which it is intended . Gnevin (talk) 02:33, 21 December 2008 (UTC)
- Ok thanks for you feedback , I wasn't attempting to attack you or your decision , just trying to improve the A7 process which seems a litte off to me at the minute Gnevin (talk) 02:43, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Ecoleetage (talk) wishes you peace!
Thanks for your comment. Another editor removed the CSD-A7 tag. The article has been fully translated now. The article had no assertion of notability, and had only a list of films the actor had appeared in. I still think the article does not meet notability standards (see Wikipedia:Notability), but there are tons and tons of articles like that. --Cbdorsett (talk) 07:14, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, clearly asserts notability, with blue-linked filmography and sourcing. Glad I held off. Generally, A7 only applies if you understand the language. No opinion on what an AFD would show. One would need to search for WP:RS en español. One can always WP:PROD or WP:AFD if one is doubtful of whether an article lives up to assertions. Unfortunately, there are many, many marginally sourced articles. I avoid WP:AFD because with the effort required by due diligence, I can source an article on a subject I know to be notable. And there are still many notable subjects without even a stub. I used to be an eventualist. Cheers, and happy editing. Dlohcierekim 14:23, 24 December 2008 (UTC)

"Taking the Piss"
[edit]To "take the piss out of someone" or to "take the piss" is a slang term in Britain that means "playing the fool" or otherwise trying to get a laugh by pretending to take a position. :) CaveatLector Talk Contrib 04:16, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- May I just step in please, apologies for interrupting where I wasn't asked to, but "taking the piss out of someone", means that you rile, mock, or act like a jerk to them. In short, you annoy them because of something: for example, singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth." to someone without front teeth, is a form of taking the piss :) Thor Malmjursson (talk) 19:26, 30 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks. Shoulda guessed. I thought it sounded like a Britishism. Dlohcierekim 15:47, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I'm sorry if I stepped on your toes with this one. I was trying to put the article into what I considered a clean state (no POV, no wildly unsupported claims, and no disconnected citations) and reverted some of your edits in doing so. I am very impressed by your generous attitude in trying to fix what I consider a very likely candidate for deletion. Anyway, didn't mean to offend or put you off in simplifying the article to its main points. --RandomHumanoid(⇒) 15:56, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
