Consensus discussion on Agents of SHIELD (Season 2)

[edit]

Hi. Can you offer your opinion in this discussion? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 04:45, 27 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Avengers

[edit]

Is there a reason why you reverted that edit? (you didn't leave an edit summary). - theWOLFchild 05:06, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The box office gross has always been listed with 3 significant digits. There is no compelling reason to change it now, especially since it has passed the good article review. - DinoSlider (talk) 05:49, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it's not as if my edit would affect it's GA status. But anyway, there are currently 23 films that have surpassed the billion dollar mark at the box office. 22 of those films have the box office total denoted to 3 decimal spaces (or 4 digits). Only The Avengers has been rounded off to two decimal spaces (for whatever reason, I don't know. I didn't find any discussion about it on the talk page.) That certainly seems like a compelling enough reason, to have some consistency with all the other film articles. Just because something has been a certain way for awhile, does not mean that there is no room for improvement. (and please don't make the mistake of thinking "GA" means 'perfect'). - theWOLFchild 07:02, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I made no claim that this would change the GA status or that it was perfect, but I did make the assumption that it was stable and these types of things had been checked. Had you mentioned your rationale in your edit summary, I probably would not have reverted it. However, the source states that the total is $1,519,557,910. Rounding this value to 3 decimal places is $1.520 billion, not the 1.519 of your edit. - DinoSlider (talk) 13:05, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
But 1,519,557,910 is 1.519 billion. (I didn't say "rounded" to 3 decimal places, I said "denoted" to 3 decimal places) Anyway, I'm glad we have sorted this out. - theWOLFchild 23:36, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Go look at the rest of the billion+ movies that you cited before. All of them round up to 3 decimal places. Thus, Avengers should be 1.520 instead. - DinoSlider (talk) 23:41, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Update Rejection.

[edit]

Any specific reason as to why you rejected The Ant-Man update.

Meetme2meat (talk) 06:08, 7 November 2015 (UTC) Meetme2meat (talk) 06:08, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

For the reason stated in the edit summary, he is already linked above. Please note that Paul Rudd is linked under "Screenplay by" only seven lines above his "Starring" entry. This is similar to Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish who are linked under "Screenplay by", but not "Story by". - DinoSlider (talk) 13:24, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Jessica Jones

[edit]

Shows are listed as date premiered - date of last airing. So for J.J. it would be November 20, 2015 to the day the last season is uploaded, whenever that may be. Crash Underride 13:28, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No further seasons have been announced. As far as we know, it was one and done. - DinoSlider (talk) 13:29, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's supposed to read "#### - present" until an announced cancellation is announced. That's the way it is with all shows. P.S. Please don't quote policies to me. I'm not an admin, but I know most policies and it just drives me up the wall when people act like they know it all. Not saying you were, but it came across as such. Crash Underride 13:31, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It was not announced as an on-going series, so it would be presumptive to imply that it is. I apologize for any unintended tone, but many people do not know the policies and you re-reverted without discussing first. - DinoSlider (talk) 13:35, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, a one off revert doesn't need it usually. A quality edit summary is usually enough. But if it were to become an edit war, then a discussion would be required. Crash Underride 13:37, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Nothing Personal (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Garrett. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 3). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing.Qpalzmmzlapq T C 21:09, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Qpalzmmzlapq: To be clear, a consensus already exists among the users. I was one of three users to revert an anonymous IP who has broken WP:3RR by continuing to disregard the consensus. - DinoSlider (talk) 21:32, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I didn't see that. –Qpalzmmzlapq T C 21:35, 18 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Character Rights Marvel Studios

[edit]

You reverted my edit and that paragraph was backed by sources, it wasn't just about ROM, and Marvel has the rights to the Spaceknights which is what I was talking about. So why did you revert it? Did you even read it?

Fluffyroll11 (talk) 00:40, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Fluffyroll11: Yes, I read it. Did you read my comment on why I reverted it? That section is about Marvel characters that have been licensed to other studios. Rom is not a Marvel character. Marvel licensed Rom from Parker Brothers to create the comics. Once that license expired, Marvel no longer had anything to do with the character. - DinoSlider (talk) 00:47, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It wasn't just about ROM it was also about the Spaceknights and Micronauts.

Fluffyroll11 (talk) 00:51, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Fluffyroll11: First of all, he said "I think", so you'll need a more definitive source. Second, I'll reiterate that the section is about Marvel characters that have been licensed to other studios. There is nothing in your sources that indicate that these characters were ever licensed by Marvel to another studio. - DinoSlider (talk) 00:59, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The policy you mention specifically refers to Biographies. It does not apply to fiction. JDDJS (talk) 20:26, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@JDDJS: The guideline states that it applies "in biographical articles and in biographical information in other articles" and does not explicitly limit the usage to non-fiction. - DinoSlider (talk) 21:03, 1 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ant-Man changes

[edit]

Hi,

I saw that you reverted my edit on the Ant-Man page. Is there a reason why Jordi Mollà shouldn't be linked? Thanks Packer1028 (talk) 22:59, 16 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Packer1028: per WP:OVERLINK, "a link should appear only once in an article." Mollà is already linked in the Post-production section. - DinoSlider (talk) 01:30, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I did not know that. Thanks for the info! Packer1028 (talk) 03:33, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. - DinoSlider (talk) 05:07, 22 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Marvel's New Warriors

[edit]

The discussion for this show has gotten very long and branched out in a number of different ways extending to debate beyond the status just this particular show (and overall is hard to follow). But refocusing back to the beginning specifically talking about this show, the discussion was about the Hollywood Reporter article and interview with the executive, particularly the question regarding the show being connected with others like Cloak and Dagger (though other questions are relevant too). Please take a look and share your thoughts regarding that -AnonWikiEditor (talk) 20:23, 6 April 2017 (UTC) Here is the link since I don't know if it was ever actually linked to in the discussion: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/squirrel-girl-tv-series-freeform-orders-marvels-new-warriors-991277 -AnonWikiEditor (talk) 20:24, 6 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Spiderman Homecoming Indian Language Dubbings

[edit]

I think there is something special about Spiderman Homecoming being dubbed in 10 Indian languages. People who are interested in dubbings need to know this, but you are removing this kind of information. I think you are uneducated about international dubbings and you let info about Moana being dubbed in different languages but Spiderman Homecoming in 10 different Indian languages is suddenly the end of the world. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aaimran (talkcontribs) 01:00, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, the information added to the page was incorrect. The source said the trailer was dubbed in those languages, not the film. Second, WP:FILMMARKETING specifically states not to just mention trailers and the content. Rather, it should have useful commentary. Lastly, I know nothing about Moana, so I don't know what point you are trying to make there. - DinoSlider (talk) 04:10, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, you know damn well what my point is and don't even think about reporting me or removing this post because I'M NOT HAPPY! I'M NOT HAPPY!!! I'M NOT HAPPY!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aaimran (talkcontribs) 23:26, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to explain as best as I could, but your post was not clear. Other users thanked me for my edit, so I suggest that you take any concerns to the talk page for the film. That way all users can have a civil discussion on the matter. - DinoSlider (talk) 14:08, 5 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Spider-Man Homecoming cast

[edit]

I wanted to know is why Tyne Daly is put there in the main cast, when she was only in the beginning scene? Can I please just replace it with Jacob Batalon who has the bigger role in the movie? Mister what (talk) 00:37, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

And also I want to include that other casts also did and not just Holland and Keaton, I just want to fix that Mister what (talk) 00:40, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Mister what: Using the billing block is easy to verify and the fairest way to establish the order to avoid edit wars over prominence. I'd like to point out that User:Adamstom.97 was the one who reverted you, not me. Also, if you would like to change this consensus, you should use the film's talk page instead of mine. - DinoSlider (talk) 00:56, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What's up with Illegitimate Barrister? I don't want to drag him to DRN or ANI but no one can get him to discuss the Detroit issue and I have no idea why he's doing this. Do you? Kendall-K1 (talk) 06:34, 18 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Johnny Blaze character rights

[edit]

Per your comment at the talk for AoS season 4, I was wondering, for my own fandom curiosity, if you could direct me to the publicly available contracts for the rights to Marvel characters? I would be intrigued to look them over. Thanks! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:49, 10 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Favre1fan93: When Fox sued Marvel over Mutant X, the X-Men contract was entered into the court record. I didn't save anything, but Google searches should pull that up. With a really quick search, I found this link. There were also some draft contracts exposed in the Sony hack. Those are probably still on wikileaks. I have not found much beyond that. - DinoSlider (talk) 00:33, 11 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
