Welcome
[edit]Hello, Dgallery and welcome to Wikipedia! It appears you are participating in a class project. If you haven't done so already, we encourage you to go through our training for students.
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Please also read this helpful advice for students.
Before you create an article, make sure you understand what kind of articles are accepted here. Remember: Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and while many topics are encyclopedic, some things are not.
Your instructor or professor may wish to set up a course page, and if your class doesn't already have one please tell your instructor about that. It is highly recommended that you place this text: {{Educational assignment}}
on the talk page of any articles you are working on as part of your Wikipedia-related course assignment. This will let other editors know this article is a subject of an educational assignment and aid your communication with them.
We hope you like it here and encourage you to stay even after your assignment is finished! Jauerbackdude?/dude. 15:42, 20 August 2018 (UTC)

- Dgallery, two weeks into the semester and you haven't made a single edit. That's not a good sign. Dr Aaij (talk) 00:20, 30 August 2018 (UTC)
- Now five weeks into the semester. Dr Aaij (talk) 02:28, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
- Ms Gallery, your draft was late (yesterday), and you hadn't posted the link on my talk page, so I'm not surprised there's no reviews of it, but there will be one in a minute. Dr Aaij (talk) 00:58, 3 October 2018 (UTC)
A kitten for you!
[edit]Meow--good job! Keep writing.
Dr Aaij (talk) 16:54, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
- Looks great so far - definitely keep mining for sourcing for Bush, but the article looks good so far! Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 16:25, 9 October 2018 (UTC)
- I made a lot of small edits to the article--I'm surprised that I had to do this, but you didn't do anything for five days. Your nomination template likewise needs copyedits: it needs a question mark at the end, for starters, but also, I mentioned you should put her dates in there. Dr Aaij (talk) 00:50, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
- Ms. Gallery, you have made no edits in 8 days. There are zeroes for four different assignments. Dr Aaij (talk) 21:42, 23 October 2018 (UTC)

Myrtle Brooke
[edit]Hi! I have some notes for your article and DYK hook:
- This needs more sourcing to back up the claims, as right now it's only sourced with a single source. This may end up preventing it from progressing at DYK, to be honest.
- The hook also needs to be a bit more compact and catchier. Maybe something like this:
- "...that Myrtle Brooke was inducted into the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame for her work in education, social work, and for creating the state's first social work curriculum?"
- The hook claims that Brooke was the dean of the University of Montevallo, but this isn't in the source used in the article. Keep in mind that there are a lot of different terms for leaders within the educational system and you should use whatever term was specifically used to describe her. The UoM website doesn't use the term dean, instead using the term Chairperson, so I'd use that when describing her role. The reason why this needs to be specified is because chairpersons and deans are not the same thing - a chairperson may be one of the higher or highest positions in a department, but could still end up reporting to a dean that manages several departments at once.
I'm going to tag your professor (Dr Aaji) to see if he has any suggestions for the hook. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:56, 8 November 2018 (UTC)

- Dr Aaij - is the student still interested in this? The article could use some more sourcing, but I do think that Brooke would make for an interesting DYK hook. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 21:39, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
- I'm not sure, Shalor. I'll have another look. Thanks... Dr Aaij (talk) 21:13, 14 December 2018 (UTC)
DYK for Dorothy Vredenburgh Bush
[edit]On 6 December 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Dorothy Vredenburgh Bush, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Dorothy Vredenburgh Bush was the first woman to call roll for the Democratic National Convention, doing so for 12 straight conventions? You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Dorothy Vredenburgh Bush), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
