Welcome to the Ronco Barnstar Vault. I place all my barnstars here for safe keeping.

(will move here later)
April 2012 on
I didn't start archiving barnstars until I became an admin, in April of 2012, and decided to archive them here. I appreciate the respect and thought that goes into each one. These are now also found in the archives with replies and thanks to the giver. - Dennis Brown
The Admin's Barnstar
I'm sorry for the distraction, I noticed you on different discussions awhile back and was following your RfA, I was sad the las time I had checked it, but it appears the community logic prevails. So Congrats on that, and for your tireless work on the MMA stuff. I find those discussions compelling, so you should keep seeing me. Newmanoconnor (talk) 19:24, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I completely understand. The whole debacle has made me do...just what is in the picture to the left. You are a credit to Wikipedia, and the admin corps, keep up the good work. And you are right, some times it is best just to walk away. kelapstick(bainuu) 12:46, 3 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know you just got the mop, but I've noticed your comments in quite a few discussions, and I really appreciate the way you're handling things so far, with patience, humility, and care. Keep up the good work! —Torchiesttalkedits03:19, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Special Barnstar
I came across this page and I must say I am truly impressed with the effort you've made to help another editor master their communication skills. Wikipedia (and the rest of the world, actually) needs more of the kindness and hard work you've offered here. 28bytes (talk) 21:55, 15 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would of given you the {{The Admin's Barnstar}}, however you received one already :). I would like to thank you for your hard work over at WP:RFPP and your countless page protections. They are appreciated. Keep up the good work. -- Luke(Talk)02:06, 16 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for dealing with that nasty comment I showed you on ANI (and the user who added it). I wasn't sure how to deal with it, but that's part of what admins are for. ChromaNebula(talk)18:18, 20 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The Barnstar of Diplomacy
I feel bad about bombarding you with Barnstars, but this piece of advice is something every editor should read and live by.
One of the most important things to remember is this: When dealing with a "bad doer", be it a sockpuppet, vandal or edit warrior, you have to remain calm. Cool. Collected. If you ramp up the drama, you make it more likely that they will retaliate even more, so now you have more vandalism, more socks, more problems, and (sigh..) more work. Failure to handle a situation in a calm manner leads to more problems, more drama.
Since I started editing actively again I have seen you appear several times. Very few editors know when the best action is not to take action. I believe you are excellent at recognizing that. RyanVeseyReview me!18:00, 22 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You are really on of the best admins we have! I have seen your archieves and saw your comments (kind of stalking) and I m really impressed. Especially I like the way you handle conflicts and questions brought to you. I also love to see your work at helping editors and your improvements at CSDs. You are doing great and I hope that you'll continue the good work. All the best! →TSUtp*11:25, 8 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It's not-quite-but-nearly two months since you got handed a mop - having glanced over your edits at ANI this morning I just wanted to say that I think you're doing an excellent job; clearly your adminship was well-deserved. Yunshui雲水10:41, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for all your efforts to improve Wikipedia and befriend your fellow Editors. Sometimes we need a reminder that we are all human after all. Your efforts to bring back the lost is commendable and will assuredly be successful. ```Buster Seven Talk06:53, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I've been observing you since I supported your RfA. You're like a breath of fresh air in the admin corps. You're kind; you're approachable; you're rational and reasonable. You may make the odd mistake - we all do. But you don't seem to have an ounce of vice in you. You have far-seeing goals, and they're good ones. And you'd pass my Head of State test with no questions asked, no niggly little reservations. In short, you're fucking wonderful, and I feel privileged to WikiKnow you :D Pesky (talk) 03:26, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gee, I have to say that you a very helpful and insightful admin. You are pretty much one of the voices of reason in hot pages like ANI. I'm just here to tell you that your work is very appreciated.
Congratulations, Dennis! You are the fourth editor to be inducted into my Hall of Fame. During a period which has seen its share of ill will and turmoil, you have been a voice of reason that has kept things from getting worse. for your comments at Wikipedia_talk:Non-admin_closure#Non-admin_closures_should_be_discontinued. You have hit the nail on the head. I have been a Wikipedian for YEARS. I have privileges that some admins will never get...but I do not have the mop. Thank you for knocking one in for those of us who are made to feel like second class citizens everytime we close a discussion that sorely needs to be closed. Your words touched on the exact problem, and your attitude is pure gold...PURE GOLD...and wish you the very best from the bottom of my heart in spreading it around. For your extended efforts, and breaking yon Gluteus maximus (your backside, behind, butt, rear-end - OK "Busting Ass") to maintain the drama levels of Wikipedia, Ched would like to award you (Dennis Brown) the Broken Tuchus Barnstar.
If we had a Tireless Contributor Teamwork barnstar, I would award that to you, but I am not that technically inclined, so you'll have to settle for one that doesn't spin. In any case, you have been terrific on Talk:Boston Marathon bombings and I don't know what the rest of us monitoring would do without you. Thank you very much. Hi Dennis. I have come here to do the inevitable and announce that you are now a recipient of my Golden Editor Award, which I seek to present to Wikipedia's finest editors. For posterity's sake, I will explain why you fit in that category. You are one of our most helpful members. You often solve problems but almost never create them. You assist others in becoming better editors. You demonstrate the ideal demeanor for an administrator. You work in some of our most difficult areas and yet hold a position as one of the most highly–regarded project members. If you aren't one of our finest members, who is? Thank you for all you have contributed and congrats on the shiny medal! AutomaticStrikeout (T • C • Sign AAPT) 03:42, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dennis, for a guy, you're a pretty awesome one, and you're doing a great job redeeming us admins since you're so completely not an asshole in any way. I could learn a lot from you and I would if I weren't such an asshole. We'll be camping in NC in a couple of weeks, and maybe we'll be grilling in your backyard. I was a little sad and somewhat disconcerted to see your comment on Jimbo's talk page regarding "being chased away" from Wikipedia. I sincerely hope that you don't let anything chase you away from our project here - you are one of the top administrators we have, and our community needs much more of your calm voice of reason, not less. I hope work allows you to edit more regularly in the future. Thanks for all you have done, and thanks in advance for all I am sure you will do here. -- GoPhightins!18:39, 12 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The Purple Star
I regret to say that I just today noticed the rather lengthy discussion at WT:AC, and what you have been put through lately. I assume the Arbs have some sort of reason, and that maybe, in some way, they think they might have indicated it to you. That still may not make it right, though, and I sincerely hope that this brouhaha gets resolved as soon as possible. And that you can, eventually, hope to forget about this mess. This is a hugely important matter, but that also makes it one which we can't allow to cost us good independent editors and admins like yourself. John Carter (talk) 21:22, 13 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for living what you advise, "reading it, waiting 24 hours, then judging", for defending editors who are hurt, for practising mentorship, - you are an awesome Wikipedian!
After doing some work on many of the other noticeboards, some of which were a ghost town, I came to ANI to find that every issue had been resolved, closed in an orderly fashion, much to the credit of Mr. Brown. It is such a rare sight to see everything look so orderly, and a tireless barnstar is definitely warranted for being on the ball in one of Wikipedia's less desirable work-loads. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CorporateM (talk • contribs)

Sometimes having to wade through the arguments at ANI and elsewhere is honestly asking for more time and/or effort of someone than most people would really feel comfortable asking others to to.
