More Del City Ideas

I've recently been trying to improve the Oklahoma City article, and been reading Wikipedia guidelines for U.S. cities. I noticed several things that gave me ideas for the Del City page and I thought I would run some by you.

  • Expanding geography section - the Wikipedia guidelines seem to note that you can talk about the cityscape and neighborhoods in the geography section in addition to physical geography characteristics.
  • Expanding lead - seems to be that four paragraphs are the standard max and that the lead should include bits from many sections of the article (we could pull some of the geography and other information into the lead.
  • Religion - this could be moved into and assimilated with Demographics from what I'm seeing in the guidelines.

Let me know what you think and if you want me to work on any of these issues or if you would prefer to do them yourself.Okiebradshaw (talk) 15:19, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

I was thinking about the religion section again, and thinking that it could also be incorporated into the Culture section. Just a thought.

This looks like an article to merge with Pryor, Oklahoma.

I would see if it can be expanded first. Have you look anything up on Bikelahoma?--Steam Iron 05:54, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, I won't worry about it I guess, it just surprises me when I see one-sentence articles. Okiebradshaw (talk) 14:06, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Stop ERASING the tag teams. The concensus is not finished yet. Only 2 erasing freaks want the tag teams out of the article! The tag teams have to be found on wikipedia! And the Youtube video was a reliable source (it was WWE TV), his ring name is MVP! --Hixteilchen (talk) 04:28, 16 May 2010 (UTC) --Hixteilchen (talk) 04:28, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

1. Please don't yell and 2. Youtube is not a reliable source please read reliable sources--Steam Iron 04:32, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
It was WWE TV. You can watch the same video on WWE.com--Hixteilchen (talk) 04:34, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Then please provide the source that strictly says he goes by MVP.--Steam Iron 04:38, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/mvp/bio and http://www.wwe.com/superstars/smackdown/--Hixteilchen (talk) 04:39, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
By the way: you have to provide a source that he goes strictly by the name Montel Vontavious Porter.--Hixteilchen (talk) 04:40, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

I never said he strictly just went by Montel Vontavious Porter I know that he also goes by MVP.--Steam Iron 04:57, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, he goes only by this ring name today. So if you don't find a source that his real ring name is Montel Vontavious Porter, please let it like it is. Let's take WWE.com as a reliable source. MVP is used by the ring announcers, commentators and WWE.com. --Hixteilchen (talk) 05:04, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

ACC reapplication

Thank you for reapplying to access the account creation tool. I have approved your request so welcome to the team. You may now access the tool here. Before you do so, please read the tool's guide thoroughly to familiarize yourself with the process. You may also want to join #wikipedia-en-accounts on IRC where a bot informs us when new account requests come in and to get any advice on requests as well as the mailing list. Please note that we have implemented a policy of zero tolerance on mishandled requests, and that failure to assess correctly will result in suspension.

Currently you are allowed to create up to six accounts per day (a day being from 0:00 UTC to 23:59 UTC), although you won't be able to create an account with a similar name to that of another user; these requests are marked "Account Creator Needed". However, if you reach the limit frequently, you can request the account creator permission at WP:PERM.

Please keep in mind that the ACC tool is a powerful program, and misuse will result in your access being suspended by a tool administrator. Don't hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions. Thank you for participating in the account creation process. Again welcome! ---- Александр Дмитрий (Alexandr Dmitri) (talk) 18:16, 17 May 2010 (UTC)

deleting an article

I have been reviewing the project's articles and giving them an importance rating. I came across David R. Morgan, a stub with serious questionable notability and with no real information. I was wondering if you would start the deletion process for it. Okiebradshaw (talk) 15:40, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Never mind, I took a closer look and saw that it was spared a prior deletion process with the rationale that he was the author of a widely used textbook. It kills me how a tiny stub on a marginally important person can survive on Wikipedia. There are like 1,000 one-line stubs in our project alone. Okiebradshaw (talk) 15:47, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

I saw you zoomed into the WWE article and reverted my work. I understand you are a strong WWE fan, and you do not want anyone calling your form of entertainment childish. I truly do. I want to make it clear that my material has been defended many times and I want people to benefit from reading it.

Why did you jump onto this article? Please, make your voice heard. I encourage you to look into your heart and make the right decision. Voice your thoughts on the WWE talk page.

OKC Thunder

How praytell is mentioning it was a lame duck situation "VANDALISM"? So the truth is considered vandalism nowadays? Adding a FACT is reason to ban someone now? Almost makes ED look like the real Wiki of record if that's the case! IF I was going to vandlize the Thunder page I think it would be a little more negative than stating a fact that the last year in Seattle's attendance was affected by the lame duck syndrome. So explain, HOW is that vandlism and cause for you to threaten me?67.160.51.149 (talk) 21:40, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

Where exactly did I "attack" this person?

I was warned about attacking someone. What exactly was the "attack". Please send this to a neutral party sysop and and let them decide if there was an attack and if the edit in question that caused this "attack" was "vandalism". Thank you, Cheers.67.160.51.149 (talk) 07:25, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

I've posted this on the notice boards for a neutral point of view and in order to get an answer as to what I've done wrong. Thanks

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administrators%27_noticeboard#OKC_Thunder_Article. 67.160.51.149 (talk) 07:39, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

This from the rules: None of these "attacks" apply, if you believe they do apply do explain and point out which "attack" was used.

What is considered to be a personal attack? There is no rule that is objective and not open to interpretation on what constitutes a personal attack as opposed to constructive discussion, but some types of comments are absolutely never acceptable:

Racial, sexual, homophobic, ageist, religious, political, ethnic, or other epithets (such as against people with disabilities) directed against another contributor. Disagreement over what constitutes a religion, race, sexual preference, or ethnicity is not a legitimate excuse. Using someone's affiliations as an ad hominem means of dismissing or discrediting their views—regardless of whether said affiliations are mainstream. An example could be "you're a train spotter so what would you know about fashion?" Note that although pointing out an editor's relevant conflict of interest and its relevance to the discussion at hand is not considered a personal attack, speculating on the real life identity of another editor may constitute outing, which is a serious offense. Linking to external attacks, harassment, or other material, for the purpose of attacking another editor. Accusations about personal behavior that lack evidence. Serious accusations require serious evidence. Evidence often takes the form of diffs and links presented on wiki. Sometimes evidence is kept private and made available to trusted users. Threats, including, but not limited to: Threats of legal action Threats of violence or other off-wiki action (particularly death threats) Threats of vandalism to userpages or talk pages. Threats or actions which deliberately expose other Wikipedia editors to political, religious or other persecution by government, their employer or any others. Violations of this sort may result in a block for an extended period of time, which may be applied immediately by any administrator upon discovery. Admins applying such sanctions should confidentially notify the members of the Arbitration Committee of what they have done and why. Threats to out an editor. These examples are not exhaustive. Insulting or disparaging an editor is a personal attack regardless of the manner in which it is done. When in doubt, comment on the article's content without referring to its contributor at all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.51.149 (talk) 07:49, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

I would like to say sorry to the you who has made these edits I admit I was wrong, its been a hard week with a death in my family and it seems I have let my emotion get the better of me and its effected my behavior as such I will be taking a three day wiki break and will return after that to hopeful contribute once more. Once again I'm sorry for any problems I have giving you and I hope that you continue to edit here on Wikipedia and may I be the first to welcome you to the Wikipedia family and may I also encourage you to sign up for account as it there many benefits to having an account--Steam Iron 08:53, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
