Fair use rationale for Image:BSD_Flyer.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BSD_Flyer.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 08:50, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
Image:Guns_N'_Roses_pinball.jpg
I have tagged Image:Guns_N'_Roses_pinball.jpg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. Rettetast 17:06, 24 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:BSD Flyer.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:BSD Flyer.jpg. Multiple Recommendations for Delete Discussions
You may have only a single recommendation (sometimes called a !vote) per deletion discussion. If you are the nominator, the nomination statement is your recommendation and you do not get another recommendation. You may revise your opinion by editing it (being sure to indicate that you have changed it) or you may add comments / responses to other participants as needed. However, you get only one recommendation.
You have been told this several times in a number of different deletion discussions (here is one example but there are plenty others). Yet once again, you have provided multiple recommendations on your latest RFD nomination. While deletion discussion are not votes, multiple recommendations give the appearance of vote stacking and are disruptive. Please do not engage in this behavior again.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Thanks. -- JLaTondre 16:45, 23 September 2007 (UTC)

David, you've been advised before not to "vote" multiple times in a discussion. Your nomination (follow the blue link above) implies deletion (or so I understood from it), and your second comment (as identical to your nom) doesn't add much to the discussion. If you have doubts or questions about other users comments, such as Melsaran's above, then ask him what he meant by them. If you disagree with his comments, then tell him and us by replying directly. If you wish to add to your arguments then expand your nom (you're still welcome to do that, as long as it's a constructive suggestion). The closing admin or user (who decides what action to take) won't be counting the deletes or keeps, but rather reading each comment to determine consensus. If you have any questions about this process, ask anyone of us. We'd be glad to help! - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 01:03, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Hey. To answer your question, of course you can. You can ask users about their comments, expand your concerns in case somebody misunderstood you, or add to your suggestions as much as you like. However, there's no need to say delete more than once. The closing user will know what you stand for with just one delete or keep, but he/she will be more interested in why you said it. So next time, expand your comments. If someone opposes, ask them why. And don't feel shy or embarrassed, I myself have had arguments thrown up against me, sometimes because I was wrong, sometimes because we just couldn't reach an agreement. It happens. You just understand what and why there was a disagreement, and move one. Hopefully for the better. If there's anything else you'd like to know, feel free to ask me. - Mtmelendez (Talk|UB|Home) 23:22, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
A small thing...
When you nommed Image:Joker knife.jpg for IfD you missed two steps:
- Tagging where it's in use, and
- Informing the original uploader, as per the image's history.
I've done both, one article tagged and letting User:CmdrClow know. I'm just the poor guy that fixed the image size issue, hopefully CmdrClow remembers where he found the image. - J Greb 22:01, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Closing Deletion Discussions
You are welcome to participate in closing deletion discussions. However, please don't close ones that you have participated in as you did here. That is considered a conflict of interest. In this case, it's non-controversial so no harm was done, but I wouldn't recommend it in the future as it can ruffle feathers. You may wish to review Wikipedia:Deletion process#Non-administrators closing discussions for more information on this. Also, when closing a RFD debate as keep, don't forget to remove the {{rfd}} tag from the redirect. I've taken care of it in this case. Let me know if yu have any questions. Orphaned non-free media (Image:TESB flyer.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:TESB flyer.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Enrique Iglesias GA nomination
I see that you nominated Enrique Iglesias for a good article. At the time, the article does not meet the requirements of the GA criteria, especially considering sourcing. There are no sources for the information presented throughout the article, and that would be grounds for quick-failing the article by a reviewer. I just wanted to suggest that you remove the nomination for now, until the article can be improved and renominated when you believe it meets the criteria. Look to similar articles at WP:GA for examples of how you can improve the article further to GA quality. Let me know if you have any questions and happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 01:01, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Your GA nomination of Robbie Williams
The article Robbie Williams you nominated as a good article has failed , see Talk:Robbie Williams for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment. Commenting in deletion discussions that you started
Good evening, David. I've just modified a number of comments that you made in discussions at WP:RFD. Specifically, I struck through the explicit "delete" comments that you made in discussions where you were the nominator for deletion.
This is purely a housekeeping action and not intended to challenge your opinions on the respective redirects. Nor am I trying to say that you should make a nomination and then ignore the discussion. As users, we are all allowed and even encouraged to return to discussions, reply to the concerns of other users and to continue to add evidence and relevant argument to help the community reach consensus.
However, adding comments that use the bolded, bulletted format and explicitly say "Delete" can create the impression that you are trying to have your opinion double-counted. It is a tactic that is commonly used by vandals and others who are attempting to bias our decision-making processes by creating the impression of more votes than really exist. Unless you explicitly change your mind (as you did in the Deaf aids discussion, the fact that you nominated the page for deletion makes it clear that you want to delete the page.
Even when it is an innocent comment, repetitive comments in that format create potential confusion for the admin who eventually has to close the discussion.
Please continue to revisit the deletion discussions and to add comments. Robust dialog is the best way to get to good decisions. But please be cautious about the appearance of impropriety that can come from overusing the standard format for expressing an opinion about a page. Thanks. Rossami (talk) 23:26, 4 January 2008 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use Image:A13_flyer.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:A13_flyer.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, fair use media which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if not used in an article), per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 11:46, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

I went ahead and converted it to a disambig page. If you ever find another case like that, you are welcome to change it yourself without listing it at WP:RFD. Image copyright problem with Image:The Best Hits cover.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:The Best Hits cover.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 22:03, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
Terminator 2
Make your review clearer, or at least fix the {{GAList/check}} (pass: yes, fail: no, doubt:?, "very lacking":wtf, and neutral/on hold:neu) igordebraga ≠ 18:39, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
I "fixed" the last one (put on "neutral"), but you still haven't said why is it on hold. Cleanup messages? (there are none) Rationales? (all images have them) igordebraga ≠ 01:34, 4 March 2008 (UTC)
What took me so long to realize you were the nominator? And by this, you're violating the GA guidelines:
How to review an article
Choose an article to review, noting:
(...)
* you cannot review an article if you have made significant contributions to it prior to the review, nor can you review an article if you are the nominator;''
So, please, remove that "on hold" (and my "2nd opinion") and wait for a proper review. It takes long, I know. igordebraga ≠ 00:47, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Good article reassessment
Thank you for nominating Joker (comics) for Good article reassessment. However, this article is not currently listed as a Good article, having recently been failed on review by User:VanTucky. From your comment you seem to agree with this state of affairs.
Good article reassessment is for articles whose GA status is in dispute - perhaps because they are listed as GAs but don't meet the criteria, or perhaps because an editor doesn't agree with a GA review. As there would appear to be no dispute about Joker (comics), it does not really belong at GAR. I hope this makes things clearer for you. All the best, EyeSereneTALK 12:37, 11 March 2008 (UTC)
Thriller album
Hi I noticed you put the GA nomination on hold, im a little unclear as to why? I would appreciate your thoughts as to the article. Yours very much. Realist2 (talk) 21:29, 22 March 2008 (UTC)
Hi i saw your review of Thriller, it needs a second opinion? Do I have to send it to a second opinion place, what errors are their with the article, id love to improve on them. Realist2 (talk) 17:49, 23 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, could you reply, there was no advise left on the talk page on improvements since it needs a second opinion. Do i need to request a second opinion or is that your job. Realist2 (talk) 01:21, 24 March 2008 (UTC)
I have left a message on the thriller talk page. Realist2 (talk) 21:27, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

You haven't actually said what changes, if any, you would like to see made. Please do so. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 07:22, 24 March 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for making a report on Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism. Reporting and removing vandalism is vital to the functioning of Wikipedia and all users are encouraged to revert, warn, and report vandalism. However, administrators are generally only able to block users if they have received a recent final warning (one that mentions that the user may be blocked) and they have recently vandalized after that warning was given. The reported user has not yet been blocked because it appears this has not occurred yet. If this user continues to vandalize even after their final warning, please report them to the AIV noticeboard again. Thank you! PeterSymonds | talk 13:23, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:SF2 pinball.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:SF2 pinball.jpg.
Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 00:34, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
