[edit]Hello, I'm Discospinster. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. ... discospinster talk 13:13, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Jeff Johnson (bass player), you may be blocked from editing. ... discospinster talk 20:53, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Joe Baque
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Joe Baque, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Lugia2453 (talk) 21:11, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
Lugia2453, I am just learning how to use this site and was not aware that a page could be prepared prior to going "live." I am still fleshing out the Joe Baque article and trying to figure out how to use citations for all of the publications. Dat JaZzCat (talk) 21:48, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
This is your last warning. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Jeff Johnson (bass player). Marek.69 talk 21:16, 21 May 2013 (UTC)
I am not vandalizing a page! I am adding truthful facts which I have proven to be correct to someone who put a erroneous death notice on a living persons page. I'm in the midst of trying to figure out your citation process, but every time I correct the page with factual evidence, you people delete what I'm attempting to do! Dat JaZzCat (talk)

[edit]Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article because
- it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. (organizations and companies)(people) It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, or they will be deleted. Although you gave references, one was to his site, one was based on an interview with him, and the Allmusic did not support the facts in your text.
- It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: Master pianist... At 91 years of age, Joe continues to play three to five gigs per week... veritable "Who's Who"... luminaries from the annuls of jazz history... the list is seemingly endless... done "studio work with jazz greats that are far too numerous to mention"... Possessing a vast musical knowledge... deft touch in keyboard styles... clubs throughout the U.S. and around the world... well-loved local musician... His life-long love affaire... resonates brilliantly... intricately woven rhythms and complex jazz chords... draw large crowds of admirers wherever he performs... rock and roll bands, stylish jazz ensembles, in musical tributes... talented recording artists... "Joe Baque ... philosopher and mentor to dozens of area musicians – fledglings and professionals alike. He is the pied piper of music – attracting an unlikely audience everywhere he goes ... Playing with meticulous precision, he interprets the minutest details of a song's interior." — from beginning to end it reads like record sleeve blurb or fancruft.
This guy may be notable, but this isn't an encyclopaedia article. It reads like an adoring obituary, and he isn't even dead yet Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:46, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- I can sandbox the deleted text for you, but to be honest you would probably do better to start from scratch Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:46, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- An article consisting almost entirely of positive quotes is still spam, better to stick to facts rather than opinions. The offer above still stands Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:48, 22 May 2013 (UTC)
- Twice I've offered to post the deleted text in a subpage for you to work on, you prefer to complain rather than accept the offer. You say you are being unfairly treated, but the fact is that you have make no effort to write anything other than a eulogy, and show no inclination to do so. If you think that sticking to facts amounts to writing something negative, as you suggest on my talk page, you will never get this article off the ground. - You are obviously not understanding what I am saying, so I've gone ahead and posted the deleted text here anyway Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:11, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- I think you were misinformed, admins can always access deleted articles. The sandbox gives you time to work on the text and references and address the issues I've raised above. If you want me to have a look at any stage, let me know. I'd suggest you do so before moving it back to article space to avoid a repetition of the saga above Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:38, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- Just create a page User:Dat JaZzCat/sandbox2 or User:Dat JaZzCat/your article name. The point of user subpages is that although they are not immune from the rules (eg copyright or deliberate use to advertise) they are given more leeway while they are under development Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:23, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
- Both existed, but to avoid confusion I've deleted the capitalised version and moved the contents to User:Dat JaZzCat/Jeff Johnson. There's not rush, better to get it right. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:27, 23 May 2013 (UTC)

Bit of a bumpy start huh?
[edit]Greetings Jazz
I've noticed that you have had a bit of a bad start to Wikipedia what with your page being Speedily deleted and being given vandalism warnings. First of all i'd like to thank you for sticking around even with such an unpleasant start, I can only apologise for being given such a sour welcome and would like to give you a suggestion on how you can easily learn the rules of Wikipedia. First of all I would ask that you come to grips with Wikipedia:Five pillars and if you would not mind learning how Wikpedia works from one of our more experienced editors then I would suggest that you take a look at Wikipedia:Adopt-a-user where you will find our friendliest users whom are always willing to take on a beginning editor such as yourself and patiently and happily teach you Wikipedia's regulations and how to edit without getting into trouble.
Either way you will find that Wikipedia has a lot for a person to do, some enjoyable, some better left to others, If you need any more help myself and JimFBleak are just a post away. Have fun :) MIVP (I Can Help? ◕‿◕) - (Chocolate Cakes) 11:58, 23 May 2013 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.
This is the talkback template which is often placed on a user talk page when a reply is not done on your talk page. Many editors choose to reply on their own talk page because it keeps the whole conversation in one place. To use it type {{tb|Your username}} , so yeah I've replied on my talk page. I await your reply to the issues that I have addressed from your experiences so far :3 MM (What's up pup?) - (Chocolate Cakes ◕‿◕) 21:06, 24 May 2013 (UTC)
