The article Israel at the 2016 Summer Olympics you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Israel at the 2016 Summer Olympics for things which need to be addressed. Suffering same issues as the old Theo bot? Did some files on the 30th, nothing since. I stopped Theo's bot (so there was no clash). Plenty of files in the category to do. Maybe one file is causing an error, and every time it starts it tries the same file and drops out? Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:38, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Well, its another problem. I set it to run on daily. Yesterday and for some reason I forgot to import a module. If it doesn't work on the next runtime (00:00 UTC) I'll take another look. Dat GuyTalkContribs 19:40, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll still be up at midnight, I'll look then Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:43, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Nothing has started. Ronhjones  (Talk) 02:28, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Alright, I'll check it out then try and do a manual run. Dat GuyTalkContribs 07:56, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
  • Seems like its a problem with importing from Windows --> Linux (tool labs). I did a minor run now, but it'll probably be solved overmorrow, as that is when I return from my vacation. Dat GuyTalkContribs 10:03, 5 January 2017 (UTC)
Well Done. Looks like it's mighty cured - It's rattled through over 2000 today. Quite a big test for it. For some reason it left the last 7, 2 were tagged today, so don't count, so 5 for some reason not touched. I did wonder if File:ClintonFernandes&NoamChomsky.jpg was an issue - I know '&' cause issues in urls. Maybe it will finish tomorrow. Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:15, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
I ran it on my local machine sadly. I might have to do that until I can find a long-term result. This is the 'error' log. Dat GuyTalkContribs 19:18, 7 January 2017 (UTC)
Oh, well. An 0.3% failure rate is well respectable. I'll do them manually. Hope you manage to sort out the issue with moving it to the server. Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:55, 7 January 2017 (UTC)

CVU teacher wanted.

Good morning, DatGuy! Let me introduce myself. I am FriyMan and I am Russian. I am a fairly new wikipedian and i dedicated myself to fighting vandalism. I would like you to teach me the mastery of this craft. P. S. I use Twinkle and RTRC. Please reply soon. Thank you! - FriyMan (talk) 09:28, 13 January 2017 (UTC)

DatBot not counting above 10?

Hi DatGuy, I've noticed a pattern with the pending changes report by DatBot. Whenever the number of articles in the queue goes beyond 10, the bot stops reporting, and doesn't start again until the number dips below 10. This occurred this morning between 0631 and 0846; there were 14 in the queue to my knowledge around 0830. Previous instances were 28 December 0616-0746, and 27 December 0715-0845 and 0915-1115. As we need these reports most when the backlog is getting high, could you please investigate?: Noyster (talk), 09:19, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

Weird. I'll definitely check it out. Dat GuyTalkContribs 10:57, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
Happy New Year! Are you having any joy finding the glitch? Today with I expect many reviewers relaxing or recovering, the queue has gone over 20, but DatBot has still shown 10 - moderate backlog. If the problem is difficult to pin down, perhaps as interim you could tell the bot to equate 10 pages to high backlog? Thanks: Noyster (talk), 14:52, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
Working on it now. Sorry. Happy New Year to you too! Dat GuyTalkContribs 14:56, 1 January 2017 (UTC)
No apparent change to this behaviour: see 0533-0703 today. Bumping thread for 15 days. : Noyster (talk), 14:11, 6 January 2017 (UTC)
That's fine, just returned. I'll work on it now. Dat GuyTalkContribs 19:30, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

Sorry for the wait - Done since one and a half days ago. Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:22, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

Bookcover rights

Hi, I saw your edit here

I got permission from the publisher for the high resolution bookcover, see here. Can you please upload back the high resolution image? Thanks Korenreader (talk) 15:40, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

@Korenreader: If you have permission under a CC license, you can move it to commons. Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:22, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

I'm Back

It's been awhile, since wayyyy back in March 2016, but I'm still alive! (Heh, portal references) I'm still looking into the SSX thing I mentioned then, but I need to get ahold of my bearings and get my Wiki legs again, so what did I miss?Minecraftpsyco (talk) 22:57, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello GLaDOS! Well, not much. Jimbo Wales was compromised I suppose :/. Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:23, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

A cup of coffee for you!

I see that the bot reduces the size of non-free images. Thanks for that. It is a good function for good compliance. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:54, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
@Bluerasberry: Thank you! Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:22, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

DatBot 6 stalled?

No action since 14th. Ronhjones  (Talk) 19:57, 17 January 2017 (UTC)

As I said before, there's an issue with a library. Previously it was a DLL (for windows), but tool labs is run on a different operating system, Linux. I'll look around, and might resort to asking Theopolisme. Currently I am running it on my local machine. Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:22, 17 January 2017 (UTC)
Yes, I remember that. Therefore do you want me to tell you when the category has got a lot of files, or are you planning to run it at certain times per week? Ronhjones  (Talk) 22:02, 19 January 2017 (UTC)
Hi, I turned Theo's bot back on. It cleared the lot in 7 hours. I have to assume that there must have been some "bad" files (probably now done by yourself, and therefore off the list) that caused it to crash. I suspect it will just be a matter of time before a bad file turns up again. :-( I'll leave it on until you managed to sort out your library issues. Ronhjones  (Talk) 18:50, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
Weird. I thought mine finished the run? The errors were upload-related (API?) not the files. Dat GuyTalkContribs 18:53, 22 January 2017 (UTC)
It did some new ones - not only me tagging! Theo did 2000 (Special:Contributions/Theo's_Little_Bot only took 1h 21min - I forgot it starts at 6am). I wasn't sure if yours was going to be regular as it's PC run. Don't want to hit you with a lot of bandwidth - I am planning plenty of tagging! There's 1,355 more now. I'll turn Theo off, if you can cope with it. Ronhjones  (Talk) 01:24, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Roman or Byzantine

Hi DatGuy, I noticed you reverted the edit concerning Alexander being a Roman Emperor. He was indeed, as the term 'Byzantine' is a historiographic term that would mean nothing to Eastern Romans, and their Emperors. As such, it is the opinion of many scholars that this is should be revised or used with caution. Even the wikipedia page on the Roman Empire clearly states that the Empire came to an end in 1453, making Alexander, therefore, a Roman Emperor. Of course that Byzantine can be used and may be an interesting way of differentiating Western and later, Eastern portions of Rome, but, is it really correct or advisable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.240.196.132 (talk) 21:18, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

Hello IP, sorry for the late reply. I believe that since the title is Byzantine, then the content should reflect it as such. You could start a request for comment regarding it. Dat GuyTalkContribs 21:45, 23 January 2017 (UTC)
