Just because YOU don't know him doesn't mean he's (a.) extraneous... or (b.) insignificant. There are thousands of articles about people who are completely irrelevant that manage to remain. It's NOT all about you, honey.--The Knowledge 07:08, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Radio SNHU logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Radio SNHU logo.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:42, 26 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shot at love

[edit]

I noticed that but somehow I forgot to revert it. I just went and removed the two names from the table, Episode 10 hasn't aired yet. Thanks. ― LADY GALAXY ★彡 Refill/lol 00:39, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Danlev. You have new messages at Quadell's talk page.
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on RIT Model Railroad Club, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because RIT Model Railroad Club is a redirect to a non-existent page (CSD R1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting RIT Model Railroad Club, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Speedy Deletion requests of images under CSD#G1

[edit]

Hello, please review the category WP:CSD#G1, it does not apply to images. Please either use one of the image categories or Template:db-reason. Thanks, JERRY talk contribs 23:28, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ohhh, alright, thanks. I didn't realize that. --Dan LeveilleTALK 23:36, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

[edit]

Sorry dude, could i have a chance to link it back to the website and do this, ive never done this before so i need to get to grips. Im referencing all quotes and stuff :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darwoodster (talkcontribs) 20:02, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ill rephrase it, deleting all text now and replacing at a later date. I was given permission by the owner to use all images on Wikipedia, is that ok? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darwoodster (talkcontribs) 20:18, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This may sound strange but does make sense. I wrote (or started) this article becuase i feel that my Dad's company should be on wikipedia, not for sales or anything, im not putting up prices or times or anything. So, with the pictures, he gave me permission to use any from the website to put on my article. What license do i put them under? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Darwoodster (talkcontribs) 20:39, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Splashypants

[edit]

Hey, you changed something, now come help edit entire page for splashypants? I did all the linky grunt work, now need it to not look like crap. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sloggerbum (talkcontribs)

Yay!

[edit]

Danlev is the best. He helped me with splashypants. And I put a blurb on the Greenpeace site like you suggested; we'll see how long that lasts before a hippy takes it down ;D. Thanks for sp card, and have a wonderful Christmas! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sloggerbum (talkcontribs) 22:34, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Park Point at RIT logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Park Point at RIT logo.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 04:54, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I see that RIT has only one article. Most major universities have at least three articles, a main article, a list of notable alumni, and maybe major buildings or list of colleges or something. Since you're pretty much one of the only people updating RIT stuff, are you interested in taking on those articles? - Jameson L. Tai talkcontribs 08:27, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops. It did indeed look like vandalism (unfortunately, after a while I think one starts to assume that nearly all edits to such pages are vandalism, particularly as new information about the subject seems unlikely to arise.) Instead, it appears that I have now learned yet another piece of information that I can't really see ever coming up in conversation. ;) Thanks for correcting my mistake. Cheers. Liga de Fútbol Profesional Boliviano

[edit]

My bad, but still removed the champions list from the La Paz championships as they weren't considered a national championship and thus should not be included on a national champions list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jso 1985 (talkcontribs) 22:59, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Friendly tips for deviantART GA

[edit]

I'm a Wikipedian and a deviant as well (same username, both sites). I've written some GAs and an FA and I watch the process - who gets passed and who gets failed and what for. I saw you nominated dA for GA status, and I wanted to make sure your nom didn't make a quick fail - it might with some of these issues unresolved.

  • You have a {{fact tags}} in the article. That's almost an immediate quick fail. Find citations for them (like quickly, too).
  • External links in the prose of the article are also frowned upon. You can add them at the bottom in an external link section, or just take them out.
  • You have a "borked" citation (#24).
  • The controversy over Scott Jarkoff is confusing. I've been a deviant for over a year and can't really see the importance of Jarkoff's issue. If it really is important, that needs to be clear. You might even want to consider condensing the paragraphs about Jark and Angela Sotira to make it simpler.

I'm rooting for you because I like dA. It may seem like stupid stuff, but the GA process can be rigorous if you get a reviewer who is a hardass for detail. For my recent FA, I spent 4 hours one morning re-doing all my citations for an article. Let me know if you have questions. Best of luck! --Moni3 (talk) 06:30, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changes for RIT

[edit]

Thanks for the tips regarding the RIT page and sorry for the multiple entries. The link to the external page wasnt mine, but was from a prior entry. When I found it, the text was incomplete, obscuring some the later text. I tried not to modify it from its orignal intent, I hope I was sucessfull in this regard. The reason for the multiple entries is because during preview I can see only see the section being edited and not the links list below. It wasnt until I saved the page that I could see the whole thing and realized that I made a mistake. Do you know anyway around this (ie how to view the whole page during preview)? Thanks for you help... Dspark76 (talk) 21:04, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Image:Gaycom logo 151x49.gif requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:Gaycom logo 151x49.gif|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Dan LeveilleTALK 03:01, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Multiple copies of this image were uploaded. To justify the fair-use of this copyrighted logo, please complete the article, then reupload the image, add it to the article, and be sure to tag it with the appropriate fair use disclaimer. Thank you, — xaosflux Talk 03:18, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That explains it some, once you create a suitable article that justifies the fair use of Image:Gay.com logo.gif, go ahead and reupload it. Thank you, — xaosflux Talk 03:48, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Alina

[edit]

Re: Hello. Could you delete Alina Smith so I can move Alina there? The article was duplicated. I'm guess I didn't put the right CSD tag on it. Which tag would be correct for this issue. Could you delete the page and reply on my talk page. Thanks so much

What I was trying to do was to make Alina Smith redirect to Alina. Is that possible? I didn't know how to do that. I don't know much about tags and stuff. If you can make it do that, that would be awesome.

Ok, you're the boss. I was just trying to make an article about my fav artist since I looked her up and there wasn't one. I don't know about this technical stuff, so whatever is cool with you guys —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.173.243.194 (talk) 11:41, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks like some cut and paste action went on there. Anthony Appleyard is pretty much the only admin left with the patience to handle those. If I don't manage to get it fixed in the next couple of hours, you should ask him. east.718 at 11:40, December 30, 2007

OK, I think I got it done. It required six pagemoves and a bunch of deletions, but all should be well now. east.718 at 11:49, December 30, 2007

Cool Thanks a lot! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.173.243.194 (talk) 21:11, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Great Job

[edit]

Just wanted to say great job on creating all the airport articles. Nice work! --Dan LeveilleTALK 16:33, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! just getting a toe hold started on all the Oregon airports to make it easier for any interested parties to pitch in on what they know. --Trashbag (talk) 16:36, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just letting you know that fictional characters are not covered by A7- the reasoning for this is that it is harder to quickly gauge the notability of fictional characters than it is with real people- there are more shades of grey. As such, I have replaced your speedy tag with a prod. All the best, J Milburn (talk) 18:19, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
