Deletion discussion about Wild Prairie Rose (film)

[edit]

Hello, Danielfishman, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username Devonian Wombat, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Wild Prairie Rose (film), should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Wild Prairie Rose (film).

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Devonian Wombat}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

I believe that issues you raised regarding the notability of Wild Prairie Rose are no longer valid. The film stars Troy Kotsur recently nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor in the film CODA. With the wide distribution through Apple TV+ of CODA has resulted in a great deal of public awareness of deaf actors and the awards for Mr.Kostur - including a British Academy Film Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Critics' Choice Award in addition to the Oscar nomination. I will be adding recent press references to Wild Prairie Rose including best lists related to this years Academy nominees. Note that Wild Prairie Rose is the only film credit listed on Mr. Kosturs Wikipedia page that does not have a Wikipedia article. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks. Hello Devonian Wombat and thank you for your comments regarding the suitability of the article Wild Prairie Rose (film). You bring up some valid points that I need to address in the article. I do think the film is notable under the guidelines however the article does not convey it. I will work on improving it and I look forward to your comments.

@Devonian Wombat: I would appreciate your help with the deletion of Wild Prairie Rose Movie - My fault for taking so long to return to correct the issues you raised. When I did go back the article was gone and I could find no record of it - even in a deleted area. Recent events provide reasons for the films inclusion in Wikipedia. The film stared Troy Kotsur - winner of the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Mr Kostur, a deaf actor won the award for his work in CODA which received the Oscar for Best Picture. Wild Prairie Rose is Mr Kotur's first starring role, and the first film with a deaf lead role. There are other notable points about the film which I am happy to better communicate by editing the article. Is there anyway to find the original deleted article? If I start again what is the proper method for submitting an article that was once deleted? Thanks for you help. Daniel Daniel Fishman (talk) 17:29, 29 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
